Just when he was about to reach her, Esme tilted her body to the side and ran towards the bed.

She grabbed Leo along with the sheets he was tucked inside. 

The beast struggled in her arms. 

''Move an inch and see if I abandon you right here or not,'' Esme warned him in a whisper. 

Leo went still. 

Esme removed the sheets from his body and grabbed him in her arms.

She walked towards the door, without raising her head to look at the man who was standing at the doorway. 

Just as she was about to let out a relieved sigh after walking past him, he grabbed her elbow from behind.

Esme felt like chastising him for having no dignity but before she could do that, she felt a soft graze on her shoulder as the man dropped a feathery kiss on her gown, ''Sleep well and think of me more often from now on, hmm?" 

"Think of ways to kill you?'' she mumbled under her breath.
