21 Chapter 21

Merlin quickly gave a nervous laugh "I'll take the first option." Enkidu stared at him "Good choice." The chains unraveled as they faded into gold motes of light. The group started walking towards Uruk once again and enjoyed the scenery while they were at it.

They eventually reached the checkpoint where Merlin made himself useful with his necklace. The man looked at them before allowing them to pass. Enkidu met the man as he was about to shout "Enkid-" Enkidu covered his mouth and made a zipping motion across his mouth. The man understood as he allowed them to pass.

Merlin looked at the temple where Gilgamesh was and spoke "Let's go meet the king." Enkidu smiled seeing Gil being considerate and kind towards the people he thought internally "If he didn't maybe I just have to 'teach' him again." Gil felt a shiver in his spine as he continued issuing orders.

Enkidu ignored their comments about Gil as Merlin said "We need to work up the courage to talk to him." Merlin smiled "Alright." Merlin walked straight up in front of Gil as he shamelessly said "King Gilgamesh, it is I, Mage extraordinaire! Merlin." Gil looked up only to see someone missing. "Enkidu's not here huh?" Merlin looked at where Enkidu was only to find blank space.

Siduri looked back at the king and pointed "King Gilgamesh I think your friend is right behind you." Gil looked up as he saw green hair flowing down from the top of the throne. "Hey Gil." Gil grinned "Hey, but first. I'll see your genuineness through battle."

"Prepare yourselves mages of the observatory!"

Everyone got ready while Enkidu stayed near Gil. Fujimaru shouted at him "Gil you're supposed to be on our side. And why are none of your servants trying to convince you?" Merlin sighed as he face palmed.

Gil grinned as he looked at Enkidu's servants. "Prepare yoursel-" He was cut of by Enkidu "You've already said that." Gil coughed "I knew that. It was simply just my charisma might have distracted them." Enkidu rolled his eyes until Gil grinned.

"Enkidu I choose you!"

Enkidu smiled as he nodded and as he walked forward with Gil. "This will be just like the old times huh?" Gil smiled and nodded as Siduri smiled too. Gil finally had something to look forward to.

Gates opened and fired at them as Mash protected them with her shield while Ana fired her scythe at Gil only to be blocked by chains from Enkidu. Enkidu's precognition kicked in as he ducked only for Mash to trip over him and shield herself from Gil's magic blasts.

Merlin observed as he talked to Fujimaru "They are perfectly coordinated, they've been going easy on us as they are allowing openings to be made. Enkidu more so as he's hoping to give us a better chance to impress the king.

Ana jumped onto Mash's shield before hooking her scythe and spinning around until Fujimar called Mash. Gil looked bored as he used two staves two intercept the shield and scythe as chains flicked them away just as two magic blasts threatened to hit at point blank range.

Fujimaru talked to Gilgamesh while Enkidu was beside him. "If we don't retrieve the holy grail then humanity will be destroyed! So as fast as possible-" Gil held his hand out as a gate opened.

"The Grail..."

Gil smiled in amusement " What's wrong. You're after the grail aren't you? And?" Enkidu smacked his head and took the grail "Mine now." Gil grit his teeth as he yelled at Enkidu "Give it back!" Enkidu shook his head as Gil started grabbing him. The fight for the grail was like a fight between children. Gilgamesh knocked it out of Enkidu's hand as he tried throwing it back into his gate only for it to be knocked over.

Siduri was shaking her head in embarrassment. Enkidu took hold of the grail as Gil tried ripping it from his clutches. Enkidu then remembered the gem. Gil lost all hope as he saw Enkidu open his mouth.

*Munch*

*Gulp*

Everyone dropped some sweat when they saw it happen. Enkidu had just eaten the grail. Gil yelled in confusion "Not again!" He grabbed Enkidu's cheeks as he yelled "Spit it out! It's not for eating! It's not food. Spit it out right now!" Enkidu defiantly kept his mouth shut and cheeks puffed up.

Gil finally gave up as he sighed "Fine it's yours for now. I'll lend it to you. But it's for you alone if those fools want it they'll have to ask me. Ad don't even think about it, I have no reason to give you my treasures." He sat back down and began explaining "The Grail is probably what the three goddess alliance is after."

Fujimaru after being refused came up with a great idea "What if we defeat the three goddesses in exchange?" Gilgamesh laughed and wheezed "Siduri they might make me laugh to death!" Gil stopped laughing as he felt a hand rest itself on his head. Enkidu had his whole face shadowed except for his murderous glowing green eyes. Gil yelped in pain as Enkidu started crushing his head "I'm with them, so you're saying that I won't be able to defeat them? Is that what you're implying?"

Gilgamesh quickly started surrendering "No, no, not at all." the grip softened only for it to rest itself on the side of the throne. A soldier came running in as Gilgamesh berated him for thinking it was a pleasant chat only to get another smack from Enkidu.

"She's coming. One of the three members of the goddess alliance, Ishtar-" The side of the throne broke as Enkidu had crushed it from hearing that name. His menacing hate could be felt in the whole chamber. It disappeared as fast as it appeared as he smiled and asked the soldier "She's coming soon right?" The soldier quickly replied "Yes Enkidu-sama." He didn't even question how Enkidu was still alive.

Enkidu turned to Gil with a creepy expression "Gil you will lend me a few gems right?" Gil asked "How much?" Enkidu smiled "I don't know maybe a handful?" Gil sighed as a few gems landed on Enkidu's palm. His precognition activated again as he yelled to the soldiers "Get back!" The roof collapsed as Ishtar appeared.

Enkidu walked towards her as he greeted her "Hello lady Ishtar." Ishtar's eyes shook as Enkidu was still alive. "Why are you still alive you piece of junk!" Gil wanted to murder her at the moment but noticed Enkidu signalling him to stop behind the back.

Enkidu gave a genuine smile, so genuine it would be great if it wasn't fake. "Well you see I have a gift for you after coming here anyways." Ishtar looked wary "What is it?" Enkidu held out his handful of gems to her as they were all high quality.

"All for you lady Ishtar if you accept it." The group was looking at the conversation and interaction until Ana asked "Doesn't it feel a bit wrong?" The others agreed while Sherlock seemed to have figured it out while Jeanne Alter was anticipating what would happen next. She knew about her master's story and his hatred towards that harlot something she could understand as well.

Ishtar stuttered a bit before saying "Oh well I don't normally accept gifts but..." Enkidu internally was wanting to punch her "Oh you accept whatever is good that is left on your shrine. Don't go spitting out that bull. Oh wait! Didn't I throw the meat of the very bull that you sent back at you?" Enkidu smiled as Ishtar reached for it only for him to drop it.

Ishtar looked up to see Enkidu's condescending eyes on her as his eyes were devoid of emotion "Get down and take it like the shameless harlot you are" Gil laughed and wheezed as he gave up all his kingly vibe and dignity as he rolled on the floor laughing. Siduri had to stop him laughing before he died of suffocation.

Ishtar glared as she cried out loud "I don't care anymore! I'll blow this place to smithereens."

She charged a blast at Gil and prepared to fire until a voice came from behind her.

"Well you should care. After all this is where your prison of humiliation will be."
