After Tang started the 8th matchup of the first round officially, he suddenly vanished and reappeared at the edge of the platform.

There was a moment of silence in the coliseum before a huge uproar was made among the audience In the coliseum. But all that didn't affect Jake at all as he looked at his opponent with glittering eyes.

His opponent however was sweating profusely while having trembling arms. But after seeing Jake's glittering eyes, he calmed down and also entered a battle stance with his black pistols.

After some seconds of standing silently, Jake immediately began to dash toward his opponent. When Jake's opponent saw Jake dashing towards him, he immediately shot a barrage of bullets imbued with his wind element.

<BULLET BARRAGE>

But before those bullets could get to Jake, he suddenly vanished into thin air.

"Huh?"

Confused by the sudden disappearance, Jake's opponent suddenly stopped his attack and just looked at the space where last he saw Jake.

Moments later, he suddenly felt a presence behind him. But before he could react, he felt a pointed item at his back along with a whisper.

"Move and you die"

Unable to escape the predicament he was in, Jake's opponent slowly muttered.

"I surrender"

"The winner of the 8th matchup of the first round goes to Jake Turner"

After announcing the result of the matchup between Jake and his opponent, cheers resounded among the audience for Jake.

While waving his hands toward the audience while walking toward the participant's area, he thought.

'Let's see how he reacts to my feat'

With a smug look, he looked toward the area Dave was in. Suddenly, his smugness froze and twitched a little when he saw what Dave was currently doing.

'Looks like I am almost at my peak form. But my match is next so I just have to make do with this '

After saying that in his mind, Dave slowly relieved himself from the meditative state he was in.

"Are you done with recuperating Mr. scion?" asked Viona with a devious smile.

'Since when did I become a scion' thought Dave as he glanced at Viona expressionlessly.

"We will now kick off the quarter-finals of the competition. the winners of the first two matchups should come forward"

'Looks like my time is up' thought Dave as he jumped off his chair and began to walk to the platform not knowing that someone was following him at his back.

After finally arriving at the left side of the platform, he looked up to see who his opponent was. Suddenly, his expression froze after seeing who his opponent was while thinking.

'Why does it have to be her?'

"Hahaha, just take a look at your face. you never knew I was gonna be your next opponent huh?" said Viona in a joyful manner.

Her weapon is a red cannon that has two handles at the top of its mouth. Although the weapon is extremely heavy artillery, especially for her gender, she seems to have no effort lifting it.

"Fight!"

After hearing the starting command from the referee, Dave quickly entered into his stance while thinking.

'Looks like I need to go all out if I want to have a sure victory against her since she is in the same league as Jake'

Viona is also in the initial phase of Rank D along with Jake. Although her element is fire and wind, she has a talent for precise control over her elements among her peers.

Suddenly, the sky directly above the platform turned red, and moments later, a huge fireball began to fall from the sky.

While ignoring the shocked audience, Dave concentrated on the spell he was currently casting, Right when the first fireball could touch him, the spell was successfully casted

<DARK CLOAK>

The fireball landed on the platform and made a strong shockwave against the barrier but the barrier withstands it. After everything finally calmed down after the devastating power of that spell, the audience saw two people together.

The first one was paled face Viona. Although she looked tired and weak, she had a shocked expression on her face. The other was a paled face Dave who was at her back holding one of his sabers close to her throat. After some seconds, he came close to Viona's ear and whispered with his lips curved upwards.

"I win"
