"Fuck!!, has anyone got an idea on how we can wipe out this beast?" Jake shouted as he used one of his movement spells to dodge an incoming attack in the shape of a lava ball.

"No!!"

"Damn No!!"

"I don't even have time to think!!"

'Well, then we can just consider this mission as a failure' Jake gloomily thought as he prepared a spell that will counter the lava ball coming toward him.

But right when he could activate his spell, everything suddenly paused.

<DIVINE MOVE: CREATORS ZONE>

'He's back!' Jake screamed in his mind as he had a hopeful expression on his paused face. But what happened next right in front of him forced his eyelids to widen. Not only him, but the entire divine beast hunters also had the same expression as they stared at the strange scene right in from of them.

What they saw were the volcanic wolves silently being cut in half. What even shocked them more was that when the wolves were being divided into two, no sound came out of them while they were howling in pain.

<DIVINE MOVE: ELEMENTAL SLASH>

When all the volcanic wolves were finally cut into two, the environment suddenly resumed as an exhausted teen suddenly appeared right in front of the divine beast hunters. Although they got surprised by the sudden appearance of a teen right in front of them, Viona suddenly screamed out a name as she dashed toward the lying teen.

"Dave!!"

When the rest of the divine beast hunters' squad heard that name, lightning seemed to strike at them as they suddenly had a boost of energy which made them also dash toward the teen.

'It seems like I need to activate this spell only as a last resort' Dave thought as he inspected his unique energy core with an awkward expression.

If a scientist were to take a peek at what Dave's energy core looks like, they will madly rush at him to perform experiments on him. His core is bigger than an average core by a large margin. Not only that but there are also three smaller rotating around it. What made Dave have an awkward expression was that all the energy cores In his body have been drained dry.

'Hmm? what's going on?' Dave suddenly thought when he felt the upper part of his body being lifted and then carefully dropped on what seemed to be a really soft pillow

Not only that, but he felt an even softer pillow being pressed at the side of his face while a hand was gently caressing the other part of his face.

'Are we back to the capital?' Dave thought again but with an anxious expression. But he quickly changed his expression as he thought again while trying to get off that comfortable area.

'It doesn't matter. We just have to do the mission again'

But right when he was about to rise, one of his hands suddenly slid and landed on one of the pillows that were pressing onto his face.

'These pillows are really soft' Dave thought as he dug his hands into the pillow it was on to feel the softness. But not long after, a force suddenly landed on his face which jolted him awake while flying for a few meters.

'What the fuck!!' Dave screamed inside himself as he quickly raised his head to find out who attacked him. But what he saw next totally made him speechless.

What Dave saw was Viona who was closely as red as a tomato as she used her hands to cover her messy yet alluring chest while also seeing Jake, Muzi, and Jonah looking back at him with envious eyes, Only Austin looked at Dave with a strange smile on his face.

'Looks like I unknowingly touched the forbidden area' Dave thought he suddenly blushed a little while saying.

"Umm... We don't have all day, let's quickly continue our journey"

Although everyone still had their strange thoughts about the incident that just happened right in front of them, they decided to quietly follow their leader as they prepared themselves to continue on their journey.

But right when they were about to set off, Dave seemed to recall something as he suddenly said.

"Oh, I almost forgot, you guys pick up these volcanic wolves' beast cores before we march on"

When Jake and the others heard that order from their leader, they quickly got confused as Jake asked.

"Umm... cap, what's a beast core?"

"Wait... don't tell me you guys don't know what a beast core is after training for six years in the capital" Dave suddenly said with a shocked expression on his face. But that expression became more intense when he saw all his squad members shaking their heads.

"We have only been training with either a visual or an automated beast along with sparring with some cultivators in these past six years. This is actually the first time we are doing a mission outside the capital" Muzi said while lowering his head to hide his shame.

'Well this is a surprise, Thank the heavens for Master Manuel guidance' Dave thought as he quickly replied.

"Well since is like this, I will briefly explain to you guys what a beast core is as we move on. But first, store all the volcanic wolves beast cores"

"Yes Captain!" echoed the divine beast hunters as they immediately began storing the cores all around them in a inscribed pouch.

After some minutes of inspecting and collecting, they finally resumed to the destination of their first mission while keeping the formation they formed while coming out the capital.

'My flaw is my pride huh?' Dave thought as he inspected the first formation he has ever formed in his life.

"Eh... Cap, aren't you suppose to tell us what beast cores are?" Jake asked with a confused expression.

"Oh!, sorry I forgot" Dave quickly replied as he came back to reality. After calming himself, he began his explanation.

"Beast cores are like the origin of power in a beast. They are similar to our energy cores but have a stark contrast to the later. Beast cores can be improved in a beast if the beast eat an energy imbued material. Either plants, other beasts or even practitioners like us. There are even some historical records that talks about a rare beast that improves his base power just by breathing the air around him"

When his squad hunters heard his explanation up to this point, shocked expression were seen on their faces. But Jonah quickly suppressed his shock as he quickly asked.

"How can someone benefit from this beast cores then?"

"That's quite simple. You just have to draw out the energy from the core and make your core absorb it. But I must warn you, it's only your element you can absorb" Dave answered with a calm look on his face while advancing along with his squad.

But when his squad members heard the last sentence Dave said, almost all of them had a gloomy expression on their faces. Only Viona had an excited smile on her face as she quickly brought out one of the beast cores in her inscribed pouch and inspected it thoroughly.

'Looks like she is the first hunter to gain from our first mission' Dave thought as a smirk was seen on his face. But not long after, he suddenly stopped which surprised his squad.

After slowing their pace as they approach the floating Dave that has his eyes closed, Muzi quickly asks.

"What's the matter Captain?"

"We have arrived" Dave answered with his eyes still closed. Although Dave's squad were confused by the vague answer their captain told them. Their expression quickly became solemn as Dave spoke again.

"We have reached the destination for our first mission"
