CHAPTER 8: FRIENDS
"And what are my friends going to think if you're waiting in front of the school for me like this" I cross my hands over my chest stopping in front of Wintyr who lifts himself from the pillar he was leaning on
"You sound happy" He steps forward bending down to give me an unreciprocated hug, pushing my hair aside "Who said I was waiting for you?" He whispers in my ear then lets me go as I glare up at him "What if my best friends saw you do that?" "Do what?" He shrugs with a smug grin
"Your friends will know you fell for my gorgeous charms baby" He adds knowing exactly what he was doing "Bye Gabby see you after school, hey Win Win" Ruby waves at us and he cooly nods at her pretending not to give a- "Real smooth" I comment on his lame tactics watching him "I have to play hard to get, duh" He points to his temple
"Okay you're too close" I say, pushing him away as we walk down the hallway "Okay I'm tired of your games, I am happy right now" I say thinking about Cole yesterday...I mean he was thinking about me "I'm so so happy" I hum as we reach the end of the hall
"Bye" I turn to walk the other way from Wintyr "Pabo" He pulls me back to him by my bag strap "What now?" I say moving back as he was super strong "I'm walking you to your first class, so hurry and get stuff out of your locker" I stop realising I hadn't even got my books yet
"Wait how did you know I needed to go to my locker?" My eyes widen a little shocked "It's what you do every morning" He notes something I hadn't realised until now "Hmm," I look up as my mind goes blank "I guess I do, do that, okay fine" I go back to walking beside him "Couple tings" He says aloud so people would look at us walking together "Chill" I hit his side hating the attention already

"Girlfriend" I hear someone say behind me making me choke on my food at lunchtime "OMG! Are you okay girl?" Lyra pats my back hard so whatever was stuck in my throat would leave "What?!" I turn quickly still feeling his presence behind me "Am I not allowed to speak to my girlfriend anymore?" "Girlfriend?!" I hear my friends ask themselves "No, not girlfriend, girl that's a friend" Wintyr tuts at my lie then nods over to Cole's direction as if he were warning me "Don't ruin the perfect moment" He mouths and I glance back too most the cafeteria discreetly looking at us including the populars
"Girlfriend" He says again formally picking me up with one hand then hugging me "Hi" I awkwardly hug him back and swallow hoping I was selling the story "You guy are dating?!" He looks at me ignoring Megan's question behind
"Smile pabo" He hisses at my shocked face and I quickly force a smile "Yup" He answers Megan finally and I hear their gasps making me cringe "Since when?" "None of your business, hear that everyone, this is mine" He announces holding my hand up for everyone to see "Go near her and you're dead meat" He finally releases my hand and I let out my breath "Same time at my house okay, baby" He says then kisses my cheek making me hot immediately and I discreetly wipe it off, already regretting this plan
"S-Same time? B-Baby?" Lily stutters out pointing at him in shock "See I told you guys they were getting close" Megan pouts sadly but I was too baffled sitting back down in my seat slowly "What just happened?" I ask myself zoning out "You and Wintyr? Since when? And you didn't even tell us" Lyra adds and I shake my head slowly glancing back at Wintyr's friends high fiving him, including Cole who seemed to be happy for him
"No it's fake" I truthfully admit quickly, the plan was going to fail anyways "Phew" Lily slams her head on the table "Wait what do you mean fake?" I swallow knowing that it was finally time to tell them everything so they were up to date

"Wow, I need someone to do that for me too" Lily says jealously "But why Wintyr? Not Felix or-" She goes to refer to boys we actually like from the popular group "Wintyr is sexy though" Lyra cuts her off nodding "True, he actually is so sexy," Lily adds surprising all of us cause she defo hated him the most "-And his body woowie, have you seen his secret tattoo on his chest yet?" She eyes me and I look at her not knowing what to say
"Why would I need to see that?" I look at her confused "Ah right, fake dating" She clicks her fingers and I nod tightly "Well you're lucky anyways, he's only had about 2 girlfriends and a couple flings so" "He does look like a f!ckboy doesn't he?" Megan looks back at him but I pull her to look back onto the table "Guys remember I am not his real girlfriend, okay let's not focus our time talking about him or who he gets with" I look at Cole behind Megan's shoulder who I noticed ignored Wintyr fist bump which caused the whole table to burst out laughing "They're so loud" Megan rolls her eyes and I nod agreeing with her

"So you coming?" Wintyr asks leaning on the lockers next to mine "To where?" I put my books in thankful that the school day was done quickly, it seemed Wintyr's little announcement caused me to have random girls I have never even seen talking to me like we were friends "My house" He says in a duh tone as if we planned it
"I thought that was for show?" He tilts his head confused "Well kinda, but don't you wanna come, we can play video games" I pout a little thinking "I mean that does sound fun…" I think about it but Ruby stepping up behind Wintyr changes my mind quickly "But Ruby offered to take me home today, so I don't want her to carpool alone....sorry"
He stands straight and puts on a bad boy face looking back at her then nodding again making me scoff "Unbelievable" I whisper shaking my head and putting my last book in
"Well that's too bad, you can come over tomorrow, right? My dad might coooook" He convinces me but his last sentence already had me sold "Yup yup yup" He steps forwards but I step back at his actions "What are you doing?" He asks me closing my locker for me "Smile happily" I do as he says and he cups my face kissing my forehead "Stop kissing my face" I hiss with my smile still there
"Is she looking?" He whispers and I look to the side then back up at him "She is" I whisper back "Good" He removes his hand off my face "Okay bye" I bend to get my bags secretly wiping it off and standing straight "See you" His eyes follow me to Ruby "Call me" He says loudly and struts out the doors to his car with Summyr following close behind him

"You guys are cute" Ruby says when I put my seatbelt on "Yell well...." I look out the window trying to avoid eye contact "Thanks" I reply quickly "Since when were you two a thing though? You didn't seem that close before" She questions starting the engine and I squeeze my eyes shut as I didn't think this far ahead of this lie "Erm well it just happened" I shrug and she awes "Aww you're so shy, I've never seen you like this" I look at her smiling even though I was truly dying inside "He spoke about you when we went to the dinner thing, a lot, I didn't even know he knew your name just kept calling you nerd snd some other nickname I think" I roll my eyes knowing he would actually do that
"His company is actually so fun, you're so lucky to have him" I nod trying to be as positive as her "Do you know the number of girls that have tried it on him and he's denied so many, so props to you" She winks at me and I struggle to hold this smile as I just wanted to cry into my pillow "Well yeah" "What does that mean?" She catches my remark "I dunno, he does seem interested in some other things more than me" I knew this was a good turn cause if I spun it that would mean she would think she has a chance and boom- they start dating! my epic plan !!!
"Really what or should I say who?" She takes her eyes off the road for a second and I shrug "I still have to figure it out" "Well she better be fucking amazing cause you're the bomb, if he cheats I will kill him" Now I was genuinely smiling at her compliment and the irony of her being the other girl "I'm sure you will" I settle into my seat focusing on the outside world
