Blake was unconscious, not sleeping so Hope knew he wouldn't come to her aid even if she were to scream her lungs out. But she hoped Steve would consider what she said and not try anything.

Steve was taught by his grandmother to never hit women, but he saw it necessary this time. But though he was going to do it, Hope's mentioning of Blake made him change his mind. 'I can't fight someone like him just yet,' he thought to himself.

Not only was Blake a lot larger and more muscular, but Steve also had no idea of his skills in fighting and didn't want to test them out.

He sighed and took the leather book from behind himself, "I'll co-operate this time, but I still won't join you on your plan to tear them apart." Steve wanted to do that himself.

Hope smiled, "That's fine." 

'You'll come around sooner or later,' she continued in her head.

Just as she was going to take the book, Steve withdrew his hand, "Will you keep your word?"
