1A-4: Return

Issac decided not to head back to class, he wasn't feeling as good as he was before. Instead, he decided to go back to the bus station and ride it to the cemetery. He had never spent a full day with Lucas there, perhaps he'd enjoy the longer company. He hopped onto the bus, with the same driver, who eyed him suspiciously.

"Shouldn't you be in class? And what happened to you're good mood earlier?"

"..."

"Alright then."

The driver took him to the cemetery without question.

When they arrived, the sky was starting to get dark. Maybe he shouldn't have been so dumb and just stayed in class. But it was too late to go back. There, he saw Lucas, wait there for him like he always did. He sat down next to his grave and lit two cigarettes. One for him, one for Lucas. It wasn't the same as pot but it would have to do. He missed the times where they would hang out together at this house, but this helped, just a little. Sometimes he could even see Lucas pick up the burning stick.

The sky got darker and darker but Issac didn't care. He just wanted to stay with Lucas for as long as he could.

"So Lucas, what have you been up to? Well I mean, you can't really do anything, nevermind. How have you been? Has anyone else come to see you other than me? You know, sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who cares anymore. I feel like if I forget you, you will disappear forever. Is it... selfish to want to cling to someone forever? Even if it means they can never go? I don't think that's entirely bad, but I don't know. I've been saying that a lot lately, 'I don't know'. Maybe one day you can be like my guardian angel and guide me through this fucked up life... maybe."

Eventually, rain began to fall from the sky. The tiny droplets little needles stabbed him over and over like tiny, sharp, cold bullets. Initially, he was unphased by it, but the rain began to get increasingly worse. He promised he would stay with Lucas and he couldn't even do that. Issac stood up and started to run for the exit as the rain poured faster and harder. On his way down the hill, he slipped on some mud and began to roll down the hill, faster, faster, faster, FASTER!

Until he hit a gravestone hard, and slowly drifted to sleep...
