Coffee

(Levar Point of View)

It takes a bit longer than I thought it would but Asaka soon comes out. When she comes out, I can see her looking at me for a moment before she sits down next to me.

"How are you darling?"

"My hand feels better so I'm better."

"That's good. While we wait for the muffins to cool?"

I honestly thought that she was waiting for them to cool down. "That would be nice. Can I have some milk?" Is she going to judge me for that? I hope not.

"Of course. Give me a second."

Okay, good she doesn't seem to be judging. I watch her as she goes to get my milk. When she comes back, she hands me my drink. I start drinking it. I just hope she doesn't see this as weird. I like milk. Plus, I know she has some so I have wanted milk, but that could be because I used to drink milk a lot and I haven't had milk in a while. I end up finishing the milk without realizing it. I set down the cup and she takes care of it for me. I guess I was just really lost in thought. I am glad that she got me milk. Wait, did I even say thank you. I don't think I did.

She soon comes back with four muffins. Was she really hungry or something? She sits down and hands me two. Oh, they have cooled down. That makes more seance.

"Since they have cooled down, why don't we eat?"

I smile at her. I take the two muffins that she was handing to me. "That would be nice." I start eating and so does she. I see her moving a little bit but I don't think much about it as she is properly just getting comfortable. After I finish my first one, I look up at her.

"I'm sorry. I forgot to say thank you. Again. Thank you for getting me the milk and getting me the muffins." She looks down at me.

"It's fine ba-darling. After all, I'm sure you are focusing on your burned hand more than anything else." What was she about to call me? Ba what? All I can think of is babe and baby. Endless she was going to speak a different language.

"Are you sure? After all, you have done more than needed to help me out."

"I'm sure. After all, seeing you safe is enough."

"Thank you."

"Of course."

We both go back to eating. When I finish eating, I stand up and I head into the kitchen. I see Asaka following me.

"Where are you going?"

"To get some coffee."

"Oh. You normally drink coffee in the morning. You don't seem very tired though."

"I know I don't and that's because I'm not tired but I get coffee every morning. No matter what."

"I can make it for you."

"That's fine. I can do it myself."

I smile at her. I know I saw that she has a coffee maker so I go to make my coffee. For a second it looks like she was about to stop me but she doesn't. She stays by me as I make my coffee. I wonder why she is staying so close to me. What is the reason for that? Is she worried that I will burn myself again? I doubt that I will. After all, the coffee pot has a handle that shouldn't get hot. I mean, sure she has a different one compared to me but she has right about the same things as I do. I wonder if she also drinks coffee. I know she seems to drink a lot of alcohol and she has plenty here from what I have seen. She kind of reminds me of my mom in that way but she doesn't seem to be an alcoholic. She seems to have control and I don't believe that she has gotten drunk. I probably shouldn't ask her about it but I might. After all, she most likely won't want to talk about it. Also, my mother would never act like this and be hovering over my shoulder. I can't tell if I should say something about it or not. I mean, I still have space but she does seem like something could go wrong.

When my coffee is done, I make it how I normally do. It tastes different than normal but I guess I keep drinking it as that's just part of what I normally do that I keep drinking it. That and my mom did say that it's a good way to hang out with someone or get to know them. I go to sit back down but I stop myself. I look over at Asaka

"Are you going to get coffee as well? After all, there is still coffee in the pot."

She looks at me surprised. "Sure. I have no reason not to."

I go to sit down on her couch as she makes herself coffee. She soon comes out and sits down next to me. I smile at her as I take a drink of my coffee.
