Zhuang Bifan
This is a pretty boring story. There’s no real challenge. The hero finds a cheat item, uses it to resolve a problem, and repeats the process. He’s way too strong and the nearest disaster seems to be decades or centuries away so the story doesn’t have a sense of urgency. There’s very little details about the world so the author just pulls random bits out of thin air whenever he needs a new challenge or solution.
The MC doesn’t seem to care about...anything! What is his main drive? Why should we root for him? Who cares if antagonists stand in his way when even he doesn’t seem to have a shred of investment in the other characters. Will he try to change the future? Will he rebuild his family’s Business? Even Leylin from “Warlock of the Magus World” wanted to acheive immortality. I hope this story gets better. I hope the author creates a reason to follow the MC.
READ THIS BEFORE YOU START THIS NOVEL!!! for first time readers, just know that this novel is good, but it has a serious black of female characters, the plot is a but repetitive, mc goes to another place for a bit becomes stronger, comes back to find some dim wit waiting to annoy him, he trashes them And suprises everyone with his strength, rinse and repeat. some of the journeys are too long and explanations are unnecessarily long and tiring, I skip like 5 chapters sometimes and not miss anything. MC is very interesting and the way he beats up people is too sweet. first female character is introduced in chapter 277 till them you get nothing which makes the novel very bland and lacking sometimes. there's never a mention of his mother or even women at all in the whole book till 250 chapters after!! that's awful to me. overall its a good book 6/10 if there were more females and string ones at that it would have been up to 7/10 P.S writer uses the phrase " it could be said..." to quantify things a lot it gets a noting seeing that 5 times in the same chpater
Besides the repetitive story arcs, theres the fact that updates no longer happen so you’ll never get to read the end of the book. theres also The rediculous requirement of payIng for privilage for the last 20chapters, which wouldNt be so bad if the tiers Didnt jump up to 500 coins for higher levels of privilge Privilge would expire before you get to read the next 2 chapter updates. THis book and this app are just scams designed to steal your money
Don't read this book if you think it's going to be amazing, you will only leave disappointed. The book overall is average at best, I don't understand why there are so many 5 star reviews here. But anyways, let me explain why I think this book is average at best. First of all, let's talk about translation quality. The translation quality is truly amazing, I have found only 1 grammar mistake in 100 chapters which is truly something the author should feel happy about. The translation quality really does show how much the author cares about this novel. Stability of Updates This novel has good Stability of Updates, the author almost always gets the 1 chapter a week quota, rarely ever missing the deadline. I don't have much more to say about Stability of Updates. Story Development Story development is just god awful and is why I dropped this novel fairly early on (200 chapters). Every time I tried to read this novel, it felt like I was being forced to. There's almost no development in the story, you just feel like you see the same thing over and over again just written differently. There's also no defined arcs because of how the story development is so terribly written. You will get hooked to this novel for the first 30 chapters, and then find it terribly boring to the point of rather watching paint dry on YouTube. Character Design Wow, where do I even get started? The Character Design is just... not good in this novel. Let me explain, in the novel Mason obviously doesn't like Mafa, but dude you failed so many times on 'teaching mafa a lesson' that it's even laughable, yet you still don't give up. It's like Mason's a fish trying to climb a tree, and when he fails to climb it, he calls the tree lucky. The other characters in this novel are average, having no unique traits about them. Half of the characters are arrogant when they meet Mafa, but when they hear how amazing he is, they instantly become respectful and revere him as a god. World Backround The world background in this book is good. This is basically the only redeeming quality this novel has other than Translation Quality. The reason why I praise the world background in this novel so heavily, is because it truly is amazing. The author uses words that vividly describe the certain situation the MC is in. Almost every paragraph I was imagining a picture of what the paragraph was mentioning. Conclusion Ahhhhh, finally we are at the end of this long review. To sum it all up, it could be a good novel, but it just isn't because it get's boring and repetitive incredibly quick. If you truly have nothing else to read, and I mean NOTHING, then you can go ahead and give this novel a try. But be ready to drop the novel around 50-200 chapters. For the rest of you that got past 200 chapters, congratulations. You deserve a medal for accomplishing a feat which I would never be able to.
Don't look at my 4.2 and think this is only an ok book. Honestly I picked it up and it's the first one I pick up again when I have time to read. There are some spots that could be cut out, way too many repetitions or info, some chapters are long others not so much. I've skimmed through a bunch and have yet to feel I'm missing anything. Could totally use an editor, but if it had one and was a commercially published book I'd buy it!
Is there even a single woman in this story? Or even a single antagonist that has at least a quarter of a brain? It could have been good, but it's so repetitive and bland that you'll feel like you're reading 60% fillers, 30% repeating MC is strong because he's from the future and 10% actual progress.
There are a lot of info dumps, some are okay, some are half a chapter and boring enough that you'd want to hang yourself but you realize that you'd be too bored of being dead with them as the last thing you read. MC absolutely despises explaining himself (as do the other people), if half of their inner monologue had been said externally, about 70% of the people that end up killed or crippled would be just fine and worshipping the MC like everyone else. Strangely enough, MC doesn't beat up the people that have all the hallmarks of creating a lot of trouble for him in the future, even causing a near-death experience. It's like he's a super-M. However, the power system and world building are very well done, I'd even go as far as to say that if it was written a bit different, it would top the rankings. Perhaps it's something designed uniquely for the Chinese, as the arrogance of every single character (except the MC, bc plot armor) goes way beyond their abilities.
Holy ****! Was this a fucking trash fire of a novel. I had the extreme displeasure of reading through hundreds of chapters hoping for the writing and plot to improve but it got progressively worst. This reads like your run of the mill chinese cultivation novel but with western names. The same fucking sentence "But he has thousands of years of magic knowledge from the future" is hammered into you every time the MC is faced with challenge. Generally this book is for lobotomized kids who also like the movie Battleship.
