Chapter 11: Her name ?

A splash of water in my face opened my eyes. Everything seemed a little hazy. As I opened my eyes, I saw long hairs shining like red flames, dark eyes and small pink lips. it was the girl from before. For an instant I thought I was hallucinating, but soon I realised it was not a hellucination it really was her, She pulled out a handkerchief from her pocket and gave it to me. As I was taking the handkerchief from her hand I noticed that my hands were still shaking. I took the the peace of cloth from her and cleaned myself. She holded my arms to support me to get up. I slowly raised up and thanked her for helping me.

"Do you want me to take you somewhere ?"

"No, I am fine thank you."

"Here.." she gave me a bottle of water that she had with her "...drink some water. You will fell lot better."

I took the bottle and drank some water. She still held my arms. Her touch was giving me chills all over my body. After drinking the water I handed over the bottle to her. She took her hands off my arm and took the bottle. She had her books in her other hand.

" Are you sure you are ok Ashu ?"

"Yes I am absolutely fine."

" Ok then see you later. Take care, bye." she waved her hand and went away from there.

I waved my hand to her but she didn't seemed to bother. My eyes followed her until she disappeared from my sight. As she went out of the library, I realized, she left her handkerchief with me. I rushed out of the library to return the handkerchief but she was gone. I looked at the handkerchief. Pink, with an image of bear on it. I folded the handkerchief and shoved it inside my pocket. She has the most beautiful face I ever saw.

"What was her name ?" I started thinking.

..................

"You seemed to be distracted. Is everything ok son ?"

"Yes, everything is just wonderful."

" Wonderful ?"

I was at my mother's cabin in the hospital. It was lunch time and as always came to the hospital to have lunch with my mother. After we ate, I was sitting in front my mother in her desk and she was going through some of the documents that she had with her.

" Yes."

" I heard that you got unconscious in the library."

" No mom, it was nothing."

"Are you sure.?"

"Yes, I am fine."

"Let me take look at you quickly."

"I am fine mom."

She stood up from her chair and came towards me with her small torch. I Turned my chair towards her. She stood near me and started to check my eyes.

" It's all because of your nightmares that you are not getting enough sleep."

"No mom, I fainted today because I didn't drank enough water, that's all."

"No, I will collect some medicines for you while going back."

"I don't like those pills mom."

"But you have to take them without any excuses."

"We will see about that."

She slapped me on my back and said, "You have to take it."

"Ok mom I will take them. Can I go now, Shyam will be waiting for me in the general ward and so will my lovely misses Parul."

"Ok ok go."

I stood, gave my mom a warm hug and went out of the room.

Soon I was at the general ward where there where eight beds and in that room there were only six patients. An old lady who was there at the last bed saw me coming and gave a smile to me. I went to her and said, "So how is my dear Nani doing ?"

" I am fine Ashu. How is your day going ?"

" Good as always."

" So did your angry grand daughter came today ?"

" Yeah. she left before you came in."

" Wow. it's been two months since we mate, yet I never got to see your grandchild."

"She is just like an airplane flying from one place to another." we both started laughing.

"I am sure she is."

"Ashu, when did you came ?" said Shyam while entering the room. I stood up and clasped him.

"Just now man. How is everything going ?"

"As usual, stressful." he went to the table of Parul aunty and took out medicines of hers to give her. "I heard that you collapsed in the library. Are you ok ?"

"Yeah, I am fine but how did you know ?"

"I told you earlier, I have my eyes on you."

"Ha ha, very funny."

"You should take care of yourself Ashu." said Parul aunty.

"Don't worry Parul Nani nothing will happen to me."

Shyam took out the medicine and I helped the old lady to sit on the bed. Shyam gave her, her medicines and I once again helped her to lay in her bed.

"You will get well very soon Nani."

"That I will, Ashu but do you remember our date ?"

"Yeah, I do but you have to get well for that to happen."

I chanted a spell and pulled a beautiful rose from under my sleeve, and presented it to her and said, "This is for the most beautiful lady."

"Oh, my favourite." and she took it with a beautiful smile.

"Ok then, excuse me I have to be somewhere so I have to go. I will be seeing you soon Nani, bye." I waved my hand to her.

"Come soon." she said while waving her hand.

Shyam and I walked together towards the door and I asked her, "How is she now ?"

"She is quite better but she is in her last days. what can you expect ?"

"Yeah, you are right."

We walked for together, talking about everything that we enjoy talking about and soon we were at the resorption hall.

"Well then, see you tomorrow Shyam."

"She you tomorrow brother." Shyam said while shaking my hand. I smiled at her and walked out of the hospital.

As I was walking towards the library I thought to myself. How would it feel to get old and eventually die ? I have seen people in the war dying and i, myself gave afterlife to many of them. Yet, after so many centuries I never got a chance to see an end of me. I wanted to see my friend, my father in the afterlife but that afterlife never comes to me. I see so many people around me but I still feel alone in this whole world. I sometimes fell that I don't belong here. But my mother always says that if you get a second chance then your life still has not yet achieved its purpose. Purpose, I guess she is right, I still have not achieved my goal that the god has planed for me. So I always put a smile on my face and start taking my steps toward finding a goal for myself.

Soon I was at the gates of the library. I shoved my hand inside my pocket and pulled out the pink handkerchief. As I saw it, I remembered that I completely forgot the name of that girl whose one look made me unconscious.
