I Like You (Part 3)

"Hmm?" Clearly, Colneth had no idea what exactly was said, but the sudden confession from Dalgliesh had his mind struggling to catch up. "Did you just... say that for real?"

"You mean 'I like you'?"

"Uh-huh..." Colneth suddenly felt a bit ashamed of himself, as if he were a teenage girl in love, heart pounding and all.

Even nodding felt a bit shy. He just hoped that Dalgliesh wasn't playing with him. After all, they had just argued and spent the whole night ignoring each other, and now in bed, he was saying he liked him. It made him worry about the authenticity behind those words.

"Of course it's true. The anger earlier was just me teasing you. In fact, I've been prepared to confess to you for a while. I just hope you can treat me like family, don't separate your matters from mine. For me, your matters are also mine." Dalgliesh's tone was gentle, but his movements below didn't stop.
