Chapter 13: But The Heart Never Forgets

Stan was not thinking of going out, but after being in Korea for almost a month taking care of business, he decided to go out with some colleagues, who are actually staff. When he asked for one of the finest in town, his friend suggested Tiwon Hotel, it's a hotel that he suggest Stan buys but he should check out the service first. Stan agreed to go out tonight and check the place out. When one of the directors heard about his coming, he informed the senior supervisor to get their best staff, that they would be having an important guest tonight. When he heard the voice that said, "What do you want to order?" he remembered his first meeting with her and all the memories he thought were buried resurrected. When he lifted his eyes and saw her staring at him, he knew he had lost it. He couldn't resist playing out the scenario that happened the first day he saw her. When she dropped the menu and stared at him, he knew she was as surprised as he was. As she played along with him and said her name, he couldn't help but smile but there was pain and excitement in his smile. As she walked away to get the orders he felt like running after her but he instead, took his glass and poured some wine for himself, because this night just became a lot more interesting than he was expecting.

As Tess went into the kitchen, she order the best in the house, she knew what Stan love and order his favorite, as the food got ready, she served with the other two ladies and kept her eyes from looking at Stan. Once they were done, the two ladies cleared the table while Tess brought in the bill. On seeing the bill, the director was upset "What do you think you are doing? Don't you know who these men are?" he asked in an angry tone but before Tess could reply Stan raised his hand to stop the director from talking any further "It's alright, I asked her to bring the bill" Stan said as he made the payment. "Bbb..but sir you don't have to" the director insisted "It's alright director, I want to" he said as he looked at Tess. "Alright sir, I do hope you all enjoyed our service and it was up to your expectation?" the director asked with a smile, " oh, yes your service was excellent and the food was great, thank you for tonight it was indeed a good choice coming here," Stan said as he looked at his Colleagues who nodded in agreement. Tess and the other two ladies were still in wait as they were to be until the customer left. Stan smiled at her and gave her a tip of $1000. Tess was not as shocked, or surprised as he expected. She took the money and smiled "Thank you" she said under her breath. As he walked out of the restaurant of the hotel talking with the director, Tess was still smiling noticing it, he mouthed "Keep smiling Tess" Tess knowing what he had said smiled at him as tears gathered in her eyes, but he was too far away to see it. Tess knew her heart she thought was healing, just got torn all over again.

As Stan stepped out of the hotel, he entered his car and the driver drove off. As the music played in the car, Stan felt fear and excitement again, and understand why he was feeling like that. Tess has come into his life, but he is not sure if he is ready to put his heart in anyone's hand, not after what he went through. He is not sure he can trust Tess, but fate has brought her back into his life. Stan knew something is going on and he was ready to get to the bottom of it. This time no running, he is ready to face his fear. Yes, it's time to heal by moving forward.
