Chapter twelve - the mind forget

Tess was beginning to smile again as she worked in her new job at the hotel. Katie had gotten her an interview and the management had fallen in love with her. She is beginning to make new friends and finally making something for herself.

Three months back after she spoke to her manager that she wanted to leave because of the heartbreak and how she also needs to move on with her life and change environment, he understood and even wrote a referral letter for her. Tess was so glad she got the hotel job, it was just perfect. Serving at the cafe was child play, serving at the hotel is the real deal. You are exposed to important people and the staff here are better and the pay is triple what she makes. The tip is just on another level. Forever, she will be glad that Katie was her neighbor and her friend. She is getting better at the job because her friend Katie is teaching her everything she knows and she knows a lot, which is helping Tess to become one of the best in the hotel. Her looks of course are a plus, with eyes that are unique in color and a smile that will melt any heart, her beauty is definitely a plus.

 Tess feels her heart is healing because she hasn't had any dreams for a while about Stan. Yes, the gods are on her side, this time around, she has gotten experience working in her favor. No more releasing her heart without having the man's heart first. Yes, things are going well and Tess is feeling better.

At the new job, Tess was chatting with some of the girls in the staff common room when one of the Supervisor came in With a proud look on his face, "We are having some special guests tonight and just three of you will serve. Please put on your special outfit and be ready to bring their order in 30mins" the director said as he pointed to Tess and two other ladies. Tess gathered herself getting ready for the task when the director called "Tess, you go out with the menu and take their order" the supervisor said as he instructed Tess on what to do. As soon as Tess got the instructions, she went to change and was ready in 5 minutes and out with the menu. As she walked towards the special table and stood to give out the menu, the three men were looking at the documents in front of them. "Good evening gentlemen, are you ready to order" She asked the gentlemen at the table with a smile. "Yes, we are ready to order, only if you tell me your name, and I will buy whatever you order for us and if it's that good, you will get a good tip" one of the men replied, it was as if time has stopped when she recognize that voice. Tess dropped the menu as she recognized that voice and the face. Her face turned red and she opened her mouth but no sound came out. Stan got up and picked up the menu from the floor, handed it over to her, and sat down with his colleagues. He turned to her and said again, "Tell me your name", he was talking as if he was the only person "My name is Tess, sir" She replied with a smile that didn't reach her eye. "Tess, a beautiful name indeed," he said "Tess, please order something special for us, and if it is as good as I expect, you will get a good tip" he added with a smile on his face. As Tess walked away from the table, she knew he was staring at her as she was leaving and it made her uncomfortable but weirdly she liked it.
