Chapter 11: A New Plan

As Tess entered the cafe, she knew she couldn't continue working there; she had to move on with her life.

"Today is extremely busy, I guess I could use the distraction" she said to herself as she saw the crowd at work.

A few hours later after work was done, she decided to head home.

She left the cafe knowing she couldn't continue to work there. She has too many memories, she needs a fresh start and she can't get it here with all the memories hurting her.

Getting home, she told Katie about her plan to change jobs.

"I wish I could leave the city, but I can't afford it, but a change of job might just do the trick" Tess said.

"Hmm, I think that is a great idea, we even have a vacant spot in the hotel I work at, let me discuss it with my manager and we'll see how it turns out" Katie said as she reached to her phone to make a call.

Tess was surprised at this, she couldn't believe her luck, "Wow, Katie, that's a great idea, I'd love to work with you" Tess said excitedly. As she went to bed that night, it looked as if the gods were smiling at her once more.

What better way to forget your past, than to change the environment and do something new? 'I know Katie has been a good friend, as we work together, we'll spend more time together and become better friends' she thought as she tucked herself into bed and fell asleep.

That night, Tess had a dream, she saw Stan walking away from her and she was calling out to him to come back In tears, but he just kept walking and didn't look back. She suddenly woke up, and she felt tears in her eyes. She was crying in real life and she knew it would take time for her heart to heal this time around because this cut went very deep. Being betrayed the second time was too much. She remembered how the little voice in her head was warning her not to give her heart too quickly. She was wondering what did I do wrong, and where did I go wrong. With Fred, she knew what happened, he broke up with her through a text message, and there was a breakup but Stan just vanished. She was wondering if this was more cold-hearted than Fred. Her heart began to beat fast as her anger rose, It's just not right. She didn't even remember when she fell asleep, but she did.

When she woke up the next morning, she went into the kitchen to prepare something. She met Katie eating toast and drinking tea. "Good morning, do you want some toast and tea too"? Katie asked, "Sure, I will love some," Tess said while leaning on the kitchen cabinet. As they both eat breakfast, "When will the position at the hotel be ready, so I can start talking to my manager at the cafe and what kind of position is it?" Tess asked as she took in her tea. " When the position is ready, I will let you know tonight once I get back". Katie said as she left the kitchen. she took some toast with her. "Remember love always wins, trust the process, and just get your life in order" Katie said as she looked at her friend and got ready to leave. Tess smiled at Katie as she left. 'Easy said than done', Tess thought, ' I really loved Stan. 'What I felt for Stan was real, she added and as she was thinking of that, another thought came in, 'what you felt for Fred was also real. As tears flowed from her eyes, " It looks like I am the only one giving out my heart and the men are holding back!!!" Tess said out loud in frustration. 'Well, not anymore, this time around, I plan to do the holding back as he gives his heart, whoever he is'. This thought made her smile as she ate her toast and drank her tea.

They say, ' Time flies when you are having fun'. But Stan is not having fun but time seems to be flying. When he left Korea and went to London, he couldn't put his mind on business. He knew time had not helped him to heal at all. It has only left a wound in his heart that still cries for Tess. After three months, he decided to go back and check how things were with the company. While planning that, a little voice said,' Who knows, you could run into Tess. This thought made him sad, and the more he thought about it, he decided against it. No not now, but he had another thought 'There is no way I could run into Tess, we live In different areas, it's not possible that we will see each other'. With that thought, he felt, he needed to go back and handle things he left unfinished, his International manager did say he needed to do some things that needed his attention. As he booked his flight and packed his suitcase, there was both a feeling of excitement and fear and Stan couldn't tell exactly what was going on inside of him. He felt it was a matter of time, one of those emotions would take over depending on him meeting Tess. To tell the truth, he doesn't know which one will win only time will tell.
