Deep Fry Rocks
It is absolutely hilarious how webnovel will release the first 40 chapters with perfectly fine translations only to completely drop the ball the next second. As for the reason why they expect anyone to pay money for these awful translations is beyond me. To anyone reading this review, don't bother using your fp or coins on this hot trash of a translation.
It's ok to read if you have nothing else. Huge downside is that after chapter 40 it was picked up by the translator "549690339", who are just machine translation. I know that this is pretty harsh from me but their chosen novels usually have poor translation quality. No idea why Qidian has a machine translator and expects people to pay for it, as that specific translator has ruined quite a few novels so far. Usually the less popular novels get picked by them but these guys also managed to ruin one of Er Gens novels, so yeah ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . If i had to rate the worst translator on Qidian, it's definitely them. Whenever I see their name as the translator, I just automatically end up dropping the novel a few chapters later.
You already know the end of the book but the author gives up before writing the ending. That's the sad fate of a plagiarized work, the farthest I've ever seen is the sixth generation of plagiarism. Generally the original story didn't do well either. It just showed a new strategy of being lazy in writing.
Decent read, probably the best of this batch. I'd ignore the title, it's a joke. This is a simulation system novel but unlike most of the other ones this one feels a lot less monotonous, the system also doesn't feel as random. For example there are 5 fixed types of rewards the MC can get from simulating and the rewards actually make a lot of sense so it's definitely better thought out than most of them. This novel also does have it's absurd and actually humorous moments like the gigolo talent, the fact that he can simulate the same simulation multiple times to stack rewards, the absurd thought process of our protagonist etc. This really does add a lot of charm to the novel and I think it'd be lifeless without it. There's also a bit of an actual sense of danger too unlike 90% of other simulation novels our protagonist is actively putting himself in danger in order to get benefits to live longer in the long term. It's better than playing it safe and living miserably so it makes a lot of sense. Somewhat generic setting and characters but I honestly don't mind since the execution is rather respectable and a bit amusing at times. This has both personality and potential. 3.5/5.
The translation seems to have stopped after chapter 40. Rest of the chapters seem to be machine translated. But I still red over 100 chapters and it was pretty good except a few simulations in the novel seem to be inconsistent even after the explanation provided. For one such, wherein he is pursued by Rong corporation, there was no explanation. I don't want to give a spoiler so I won't go into details
Honestly, this was a big surprise for me. Here we have a story with a semi-lewd title, where I expected to see a bunch of quasi-sex scenes, where there is some innuendo but nothing that I would be ashamed reading around my mother. The fun aspect of this is that we have a bunch of interesting events that just want to conspire to kill the guy where he is just barely hanging on by the use of his simulation system. He also is gaining several interesting abilities, most of which as the reader I do not find a lot of potential in, but the author uses them in very useful ways. This is one of the few that I would hope to read more of.
