57 Shopping spree

After a nice dinner with her family, Yan Shu bid them goodbye and left. 'This is the family that I need,' she thought with a smile. During dinner, she remembered the credit card she borrowed from Renji. It was the same one she used to buy stuff at the mall with her friends.

Before going out with her friends, she had asked her family for some money to spend. Instead, Renji immediately took a black credit card and handed it to her. In all their time together, she had never asked for anything from her parents. So when she finally did, they were all too happy to help.

At dinner, she tried to return the card to Renji, but he insisted for her to keep it. Sara and Kai joined Renji's side, so Yan Shu had no choice but to keep the card.

After getting off the bus, she still remembered to buy some food. Arriving home, she gave the food to Song Yun. "Here, you can have it all. I already ate." After that she went to her room and slept.

When she woke up the next day, she didn't have much to do. With so much free time on her hands, she decided to do something about the problem of communicating with her family. She grabbed her laptop and started coding on it, only pausing for breakfast and lunch.

When she finally felt satisfied with her software, she closed the laptop. It was already past 1 pm, so she freshened up and left to tutor Hao Ren.

When it finally ended, she passed by an electronics shop and bought three phones. She planned to install the software and gift them to her family. That way, they'll be able to communicate more often.

Go Jichen kept on laughing as Chen Mu Sheng struggled to choose an outfit. His dinner with Yan Shu was tomorrow, and he wanted to look his best. His friend's constant laughter made it harder to concentrate. "Jichen, if you don't shut up, I swear that I'll beat you up."

Go Jichen stopped laughing after that. "Sheng, instead of wearing an old suit, why don't you buy a new one? It'll be a great way to change your look. It could even make Yan Shu like you more."

Chen Mu Sheng looked at his friend. "How are new clothes going to make her like me more?"

"For starters, it would make you look less intimidating. No offense, but you're not very approachable. Your current clothes only reinforce that."

Chen Mu Sheng thought about Go Jichen's words. "Fine. Let's go to the Century Shopping Mall."

Arriving at the mall, Chen Mu Sheng handed the car key to the valet. They went inside and entered one of the clothing shops.

A salesgirl approached them as soon as they did. "Good afternoon gentlemen. What clothes are you looking for?"

"A suit." Chen Mu Sheng answered. He wanted the perfect outfit for when he met with Yan Shu, so he made sure to look for the best one possible. He didn't care how long it would take.

Go Jichen was of a different mind. Four hours later, his friend still hadn't chosen a suit, so he couldn't take it anymore. "Dude, how much longer are you going to take? Just choose one or else let's look in another store."

Che Mu Sheng took a look at his watch, then back to the salesgirls who were holding the suits for him. He pointed to the one at the edge. "I'll take that one then."

The women breathed a collective sigh of relief. They all looked at Go Jichen as if he was their savior.

Chen Mu Sheng next words left them apprehensive again. "This was just the suit. I still need a tie, shoes, and cufflinks."

Go Jichen immediately stepped in. "I know more about it fashion than you, so let me take care of it." It was true that he knew more, but he mostly wanted to be done with it and leave. So he quickly chose, paid for it himself and left the store. "All done. Let's go home now."

"Not yet. I still need to see a hairstylist." Chen Mu Sheng walked further into the mall.

Go Jichen cursed himself for having agreed to help.
