56 little devil sister

'Breath in. Breath out. Breath in.' Chen Mu Sheng began his breathing exercises to calm himself down. It didn't matter how many years had passed, she still had this effect on him.

Having finally composed himself, he then called for the branch manager. "I want a report on every ongoing project," he spoke as soon as the man came into his office.

He listened for nearly an hour as the manager reported on everything they were working on. "Not bad," he complimented after the report came to an end. "There's a girl in the web designing department called Yan Shu. I want you to take good care of her."

The man couldn't understand the reason for that. "Why?" he blurted out the words before he could think any better. He then quickly tried to correct himself. "President, I don't mean—"

Chen Mu Sheng cut him off. "Game of Legends. I sent the project to this branch, correct?"

"Yes, sir."

"Lu Yan Shu created it."

The manager felt baffled at that. He wanted to ask about it, but he wouldn't make the same mistake twice. "Understood, sir," he answered instead.

"Good. Remember to also inform her team leader. Also, she'll be resigning from the web designing and will start working on Game of Legends in a few days."

***

Yan Shu woke up late. Being Saturday, she didn't need to go to college. But she still had to tutor Hao Ren. She left for his house and spent two hours tutoring the boy before finally leaving.

After that, she took a bus and headed to her parent's house. She had already called in advance the day before and asked Sara to cook her a meal.

Walking into the house, the first thing she noticed was Sara's smiling face. Yan Shu hadn't visited last week, so of course, her parents were glad to see her now. She walked to the living room and sat on the couch, where she told her family all about her week.

"Oh, I almost forgot." She fished a small box from her bag and handed it to Renji. "Open it up."

Renji opened it to find a golden watch inside. Two black lines were drawn on it, adding to its beauty. "Wow, Yan Shu. It's beautiful. Don't you think so, Sara?" He made sure to show off the watch.

Yan Shu smiled. "That's great. I wasn't sure if you'd like it or not." She then turned to her sulking mother. "I also bought you something, mom." She handed a rectangular box to Sara.

Sara bloomed at that. She smirked at her husband before opening it. "Oh my God," she said with a gasp after seeing her gift. It was a necklace made of pink crystals shaped like leaves. On its center was a larger crystal shaped like a flower. "I loved it!" she exclaimed and hugged her daughter.

Finally, Yan Shu turned to her brother Kai. "I'm not going to spend my money on you."

Kai didn't let his disappointment show. "As if I wanted something from you." He stood up from the couch and turned towards the kitchen. "Let's eat already."

"Hey idiot, come back here," Yan Shu called him back.

"Goddammit, what is it?" he returned fuming. Before Kai could react, Yan Shu pulled his wrist and shoulder-threw him on the couch. With the right hand pinning him down, she used the left one to grab a third box and handed it to him.

"Here. Now don't say that your sister never did anything nice for you." With a grin, she released him.

"Couldn't you just give it to me normally?" He massaged his wrist before opening the box. Inside, he found a watch similar to his father's, but platinum-colored instead of golden.

"I could do that, but this is so much funnier."

"Well, I don't like it. Same for the watch, it's too flashy for my taste."

"Just give it to our father then. I'm sure he'll appreciate it."

Kai said nothing at first. He hadn't expected that answer. "W-Well, you did gift it to me, so it wouldn't be fair to regift it to someone else. So I should keep it."

Yan Shu grinned at her brother. "Sure."
