59 Does she even know

Yan Shu stepped out of the taxi cab. She wore a black mini dress with matching high heels and purse that she bought at the Century Shopping Mall.

She looked at the restaurant that Chen Mu Sheng chose. My Noble was it called. Yan Shu had heard of it. It was famous for its romantic atmosphere, and a prime choice for couples on dates. She had no idea why he'd chose a place like that for a formal meeting.

"Jichen, don't you think she's still too young to fall in love?" Chen Mu Sheng asked as he got ready for the dinner.

Go Jichen watched from the side. "So, what, you want to wait more time?"

"Yes, I think so."

"It's your choice. And if in the meantime she falls in love with somebody else, then you'll have to deal with it."

"She won't. She promised me."

"And how long ago was that? She probably doesn't even remember it."

"So what? It's still a promise."

"She was like, half her current age. She didn't even recognize you when you met. Seriously, man, it's like you stop thinking whenever she comes into play."

Chen Mu Sheng couldn't deny what his friend said, but he still refused to agree.

"Seriously man, how long have you been waiting? It's okay if you don't want to rush it, but that's not what you're doing. You're stalling. If it goes like that, she'll eventually find someone else and you'll be all alone."

Chen Mu Sheng fell into deep thought. Finally, he accepted that his friend was right. "What should I do then?"

"Well, first you need to know if she's even interested in love at the moment. You could be the hottest man on the planet, it would only matter if she's thinking about a relationship."

Chen Mu Sheng nodded at the explanation. It made sense. "So how should I ask her?"

"For starters, you could stop acting like a scared child. Seriously, where is that Emperor of The Business World? I've seen poodles more fearsome than you are right now."

Chen Mu Sheng glared at his friend, eyes filled with killing intent.

Go Jichen gulped. "Okay, maybe I went a bit too far. But look, I'm not lying when I say that you need to take the initiative. How about this? Later at the dinner, Me and Tang Feng will find a way to lure Yan Shu's friends away so you can be alone with her. But after that, it'll depend on you."

"And what makes you think that you're coming with me to the dinner?"

Go Jichen lifted one finger. "One, because this is supposed to be a formal meeting, so it would be weird if you showed up by yourself. The normal would be for you to take some people involved in the project, such as your head of project management and your personal secretary." He lifted a second finger. "And two, do you really want to open up to Yan Shu with all her friends close by?"

Chen Mu Sheng sighed at that. He hated that his friend knew so much more about this than him. "Fine, you can come, but behave."

"I always do," he said with a grin, eliciting another sigh from his friend.

"Let's just go."
