51 Boss

"Give up your money and you can go," said the one who appeared to be their leader.

"Why don't you make us?" Yan Shu taunted.

"So that's how you want it?" The man strutted forward as if he had nothing to fear. Mu Ke and Kim Bi Bum tried to go forward to meet him, but Yan Shu held them back, moving in herself.

The man tried to grab her. He certainly was stronger, but she was faster. After a knee to the groin and an elbow to the face, the man was down.

His companions were shocked.

Yan Shu didn't waste time. First she kicked off her high-heels. Fighting in those was a danger by itself. With that done, she took the initiative and rushed into the other men.

They probably expected Yan Shu and her group to be a bunch of rich kids they could easily rob. She was all too happy to prove them wrong. She kicked, punched, elbowed, clawed, and even somersaulted her way to victory.

In the end, they were all left panting on the ground.

"Now get out of here before I hit you even harder," she barked at the men, who promptly scrambled to escape from the scary woman. Yan Shu then spun around with a big smile on her face. "Well, that was a nice workout."

Everyone else was too shocked and unable to respond. They never expected her to be able to fight, let alone this well.

Song Yun recovered first. "Yanyan, where did you learn to fight like that?"

"From my brother, of course," she responded. Not totally false seeing that Kai also took part in training her, and he was technically her brother now. "Now enough talking. That was fun and all, but I'm guessing it's time for us to go back home."

"Sure thing, Boss," said Song Yun, quickly followed by the rest.

Yan Shu immediately paused at that. Boss? What the hell!?

***

Friday finally came, and everyone felt nervous. They were all in front of a door, on the other side of which the company's representatives, teachers, and board members all waited for them.

After taking a moment to collect their breaths, they all went in. Yan Shu could feel their gaze on her and the rest of their group as soon as they entered. Save for their teacher Mu Feiran, who smiled at them, everyone else was seemingly judging them.

Not wasting any time, the group started their presentation with Yan Shu taking the lead. The whole affair took over two hours, including the time needed to answer all of the questions.

The representatives all felt pleasantly surprised at seeing such a great project, so they all decided to make their offers to buy the game.

None of these offers satisfied Yan Shu, however. It wasn't just because it was the first round of negotiations. Rather, it felt like these representatives didn't believe that Yan Shu and her group were aware of the true value of the game they had created.

Having expected something along these lines, Yan Shu grabbed a stack of papers and told her group to pass it around the room. "I thank you all for making your offers, but unfortunately none of them satisfied us. This is our price."

The representatives took their time to read it, their frowns deepening with every passing second. The man from the Qi Groups was the first one to speak, his voice dripping with condescension. "Kids, don't you think you're asking for too much? This is far above what anyone here offered."

Yan Shu knew what he was trying to do, and didn't let herself be swayed. "This is the price we think to be fair. No one is forcing you to buy it."

Not satisfied, the man spoke again. "Kids, you simply don't understand how business works. Let me tell you—"

"Sir," Yan Shu spoke, interrupting the man, "I couldn't care less about what you have to say. And in case you haven't understood, then let me put it into simpler terms. This is our first and final price. Take it or leave it."

No one else made an offer, and Mu Fieran shook her head at that. Her students certainly knew a lot about programming, but they still had a lot to learn about negotiating.

Just when it looked like negotiations had come to a dead stop, the doors opened and a man walked into the room. "I wish to buy it."
