"Oh and this is Grandma Purit's house, she weaves all of our clothes" Ismene said as they came upon a house

There was an unusual enthusiasm as she talked about the house, it was clear that she had some form of relationship with this Grandma Purit.

"Your Grandmother?" Tau asked

"Yes, do you want to meet her?... I think she just cooked, she would love your presence within the house" Ismene continued

"Sure" He answered as the two knocked on the hut's door.

"Mama, i'm here" Ismene called out as they both heard the slow shuffling of feet as the woman came towards the door.

Seconds later, the door opened as the woman stepped out. She was as he had expected, she looked to be in her early 60s but looking at her, he could see the resemblance.

In fact if he didn't know better, he would say she was Ismene's mother. As soon as the woman saw them, her face lit up

"Chief?!" the woman asked, surprised at his presence.

"Mama!" Ismene called out, drawing her attention away from the weak Chief.

"Mene, what's wrong? Why is the village chief here?" she asked, confused but he could see some traces of worry in her eyes.

"You don't have to worry, Ma'am, Ismene and I were simply on a walk so I can re-familiarize myself with the village then we came upon your place" Tau explained

"Oh.. Okay then, would you two like to come in?" she asked as Ismene turned towards him.

"If you would allow us, Ma'am" Tau replied

"Then come in, you know, it had been long since I last saw you two together like this, by the way are you getting any better now" The woman asked as she prepared a place for them to sit.

Coming into the hut, Tau was surprised. It was much bigger than he expected. Even his own wasn't that big so there was definitely something wrong here.

"I'm getting better, Ma'am," Tau replied as he pondered her words.

From what he just heard, it meant that his body had a history that he currently knew nothing about. She also just confirmed Ismene to be his childhood friend.

He could already guess something like that from her behaviour towards him and her familiarity with him but somehow he feared that they could be married.

It wasn't necessarily a bad thing… In fact, no part of that statement was a bad thing, Ismene was beautiful and so far she seemed to have the ideal mannerism he hoped his wife would have.

Soon the woman brought a table and then some food for them to eat. The food was unfamiliar but then so was the world around him so he bravely took a bite.

Tau considered his options, where he was from, such a visit confirmed a romantic interest in each other so he couldn't say that he was eating this food happily.

It had only being a day and such a thing was happening.

However, he had no intention to stop it.

Ismene seemed to be the only one to have shown some level of attachment to him meaning that she could be trusted for now and besides he was hungry, his hut didn't look like it had anything he could eat within it.

Time passed with Ismene's grandmother asking questions, he didn't know the answers to. It was to be expected but he did at least learn just how close his body and Ismene truly were.

Nearly an hour later, the two finally left the house. The sky had nearly turned dark by the time they left, thankfully they were done with the tour of the village.

About a minute of walking later and through many shortcuts, he finally arrived back in his hut. Turns out that she stayed in the hut just close to his.

"Thank you for your time today" Tau said as she helped him sit on a chair just outside his home.

"Your welcome, you wouldn't be needing any other thing right?" Ismene asked

"No, not really, I can do the rest by myself but thank you for today" Tau answered again as he thanked her.

"Okay then, good bye" She replied as she ran home.

Tau sat and watched her figure disappeared in the distance before finally looking up at the rising moon.

"There isn't even a water supply" Tau noted

The village was indeed decent but there was still a lot wrong with the village for him to consider it, good.

This was something he noticed after the stroll around the village, it had absolutely zero sources of water that was close by. No wells, no streams that they could stroll safely to.

The nearest river or stream to the village was within the forest and according to Ismene, it wasn't exactly a safe place.

They were wild animals that would attack so they visited the river in the early hours of the morning in order to avoid the predators.

"At least the people are supportive" Tau stated as he stood up and walked into the hut.

Immediately he did so, he pulled up the system interface as the holographic screen appeared again. He could see that the amount of gold has increased by a little.

From 1500 Gold, there was now 1506 Gold now. He didn't know the value of one gold so he couldn't exactly tell. Apart from that, he also noticed a new section that showcased population

°°°°°°

Population: 374

Men: 126

Women: 246

°°°°°°

"Oh, it doesn't differentiate children" Tau noted as he continued reviewing the other new things on his page

It was weird that it didn't count children separately but it didn't matter much.

Looking through the interface again. He saw another new section titled "Buildings".

Somewhat excited, he immediately clicked on it as a long list of buildings appeared before him.

"Town Hall, Mine transport systems, Archer towers… water tower, this place has it all" Tau shouted out loud in joy before going into a coughing fit.
