1 The New Emperor

(MC POV)

According to a hypothesis, the Emperor is the collective reincarnation of all the shamans of Neolithic Humanity's various peoples, the first Human Psykers amidst the unholy reality of the warp. This event occurred before the four immense chaos forces had fully materialised and dates back approximately 8'000 years before the current Era, in what is now known as Turkey.

At least that is a hypothesis. And I can personally say that it is correct. I was once a normal human, living my normal life, enjoying the normal pleasures and thinking nothing of it. That was until I died and was confronted with a problem. I was to be reincarnated into the Warhammer 40k Universe. However, I was to be granted one 'boon' or 'cheat' to help me as long as it wasn't one of the three O's.

I of course knew about Warhammer 40k, but not very much. The lore of Warhammer is enormously deep. I was happy with Star Wars and some occasional DC or Marvel comics. So when I was told that I would be sent to the Warhammer 40k Universe, I thought about something that would help me there. I asked for one of the Meta Essences, that was getting more popular in fan fiction, the Essence of the Emperor of Mankind.

I was aware that it was a dangerous thing to do, but I was convinced that I could do better than the big E in gold. So I bet everything on one card, with a slight twist. I asked whether I could travel to other Universes as well. This wish was only partially granted. I was told that I could choose three additional Universes to travel to, but Warhammer would be my main Universe and the time I could spend in each Universe at a time was limited.

I accepted of course. The Universes I chose, were the ones I knew about. Star Wars, Marvel and DC comics. The reason for this is because all three of these Universes had some good technologies, I could either take with me or learn from and then use in Warhammer. Especially DC and Marvel had good metals and alloys that I could use.

So with everything ready, I was sent on my way.

The immaterium is an alternate dimension of purely psychic energy that echoes and underlies the familiar four dimensions of the material universe. As humanity evolved, the immaterium, influenced by the dark emotions deeply rooted in the collective subconscious, began to swell with turmoil.

This disturbance led the Psykers away from their ability to reincarnate as their souls became prey for the warp's entities upon death. This predicament threatened the extinction of human psionics and without the Shaman's guidance, humanity would succumb to Chaos' allure. Much like the Eldar's eventual fate.

Faced with this existential threat, Earth's Psykers convened in a monumental council. Deliberating salvation from their impending absorption by the immaterium. They resolved to merge their Essences, intending to reincarnate within a singular vessel, a unified consciousness they refer to as, the 'New Man'.

Following this, a thousand Psykers ended their lives with poison. Their spiritual energies surged into the Immaterium. A psionic wave, incinerating any demon in its path. From this indomitable blaze, a shared soul arose and a year later, a child destined to become the Emperor was born on Terra ... me.

.

I was born into a simple community of herders and cultivators. Part of a family as typical as any other. With parents, siblings and a life that was ordinary in all but one aspect ... well, two or three. From the embryonic stage, I exhibited extraordinary capabilities. The Essence of the Emperor of Mankind was working the moment I became conscious, so the moment I was born.

I possessed an unbreakable will capable of taking on the full brunt of the 4 chaos gods and not cracking in the slightest, yet having a child body ... was challenging. I of course could change my size at will, but since I would live for such a long time, I allowed myself to be just that ... a human baby.

I took the time that I had, the time, before the Chaos Gods fully formed, to get used to my powers. I had absolute control over them, but it was still new to me as a former normal human. But my Essence helped me here. Beyond genius-level intellect and Infinite trains of thought and the ability to multitask are not just words, they allowed me to be insanely powerful not even a week after I was born.

While the OG Emperor of Mankind would have grown into his powers and gotten used to them over time, mine were already at his peak level, the moment I woke up. This was of course ridiculous and yet also perfect.

Just before my birth as the future Emperor of Mankind on Terra in the 8th Millennium B.C., three of the major Chaos Gods of the future, Khorne, Tzeentch, and Nurgle, had already begun to take form in the Warp. However, it would take until the end of Terra's European Middle Ages midway through the 2nd Millennium, circa 1400 AD, for them to fully awaken.

This gave me time. Time that I can use to not only fully explore the limits of my power, but also grow beyond what the Emperor could. Maybe, I could also use this chance, to stop the Aeldari and their pathetic fall from grace. Slaanesh did not awaken until the 30th Millennium, brought into existence by the terrible collective psychic flaws of the ancient Aeldari, with its birth to consciousness in the Warp marking the end of the Aeldari's great interstellar empire.

Either that or I simply build my power and guide humanity and stop all of the Ruinious Powers from fully forming ... at least for a time. I am aware that they will form either way. But with me here, they might take much longer than the 10'000 years to form. That could work.

Food for thought.

(3rd Person POV)

Our main character, now named Neoth, spent his younger years following what was expected of a 'normal' boy and young man at the time. While He was still an adolescent, his father was murdered by his uncle, just like in the original story. While preparing His father's body for a primitive funeral ritual, Neoth used his power, to receive a clairvoyant vision of how his father had been murdered.

He saw it happen and interestingly he was not sad or surprised about it. He was just ... indifferent. Neoth knew, just like the original one did, that leaving humanity to their own devices, would eventually lead to their downfall. The power, our main character now wielded, changed him. Not his personality, even though that as well somewhat. But it changed his perspective more.

He grew more distant and became much more collected. He was constantly making plans on how to change things. What he could do to increase humanity's chances against the Ruinious Powers and all the other threats in the Universe. You could say that Neoth matured at lightspeed. In the span of one day, it was as if he were an old man, in terms of experience and thoughts.

In the end, Neoth decided to not kill his uncle. He would not kill him and instead used him to start his plans. His plans, to guide humanity in the direction he wanted. He didn't want to take control of all humans at once. He wanted to let them use their ingenuity and potential to make them prosper. And his uncle was the figure he used in the beginning.

.

Neoth didn't need humanity to create the technology from the 'Age of Technology', but he wanted them to take it even further. That's why he guided them. With his help, they would quickly reach the level they had in the 20th millennium and then go further.

All this would happen, while Neoth would begin creating his troops slowly. He had been granted the starship known as the Imperator Sominium and the Star Fortress known as the Phalanx. Neither of them was staffed or armed, but that wasn't a problem for him. Once they had fuel and were armed and staffed, it would prove invaluable to him and the Imperium of Man.

.

.

(Neoth POV)

I open a portal through the Warp which leads me to Imperator Sominium. I arrive there and use my power to get a feeling and a look at the ginormous spaceship.

[Picture]

Originally, the Imperator Somnium was a Command Carrier that served as one of the three flagships of the Emperor during the Great Crusade.

The Imperator Somnium was constructed not on Mars, but on Terra. It was a unique, golden vessel of immense size, dwarfing even Imperial battleships in both size and firepower. Its size was on par with that of the Orbital Plates of Terra. The Imperator Somnium was extremely advanced, constructed with the secrets of Terra's Dark Age of Technology. As such, it wielded formidable weaponry such as Volkite Storm Accelerators, multiple Nova Cannons along its keel, and Rad-Fusion warheads, and much of its functions were automated, allowing for effective operation with minimal crew.

This of course was also the case for this version of the Imperator Somnium, but I would have to create the crew, the fuel, the weapons and the rest of the technology. The basics were there, but I still had to do some things. That wasn't a problem though, as all it took was time. I had the knowledge of the technology, which humans had during the Age of Technology.

.

Phalanx is the massive starship that serves as the mobile fortress-monastery of the Imperial Fists Space Marine Chapter and was constructed many millennia ago by unknown hands during the Dark Age of Technology long before the Age of the Imperium.

[Picture]

Phalanx itself is gigantic, the largest starship known to have been constructed by Human hands, and something of its magnitude has not been seen since the Age of Technology. The size of a small moon or large asteroid, its foredeck can dock a dozen Imperial Navy cruisers around its circumference.

The vessel is essentially a hive city in space, with its great spires reaching towards the stars, giving it the appearance of a giant mace-head. In many ways, Phalanx is the only vessel ever built by Mankind that comes close in size and complexity to that of the Aeldari's craft worlds.

The Phalanx is so large that it reflects light like the stars themselves, and it served as a symbolic representation of the Emperor Himself during the time of the Great Crusade. The vast starship is completely mobile and capable of travelling through the Warp and often follows the Imperial Fists Chapter as it moves throughout the galaxy.

.

I will make use of both the Phalanx and the Imperator Somnium to the fullest. But first I will have to begin stocking up. Thankfully, due to my Essence, I only ever have to do this once. Because once it is fully stocked, things can't ever run out. Which makes it grossly overpowered in my opinion.

But the enemies in this universe are no joke.

I hope this was an ok first chapter. I know this might sound harsh, but we need humanity to prosper and multiply to conquer galaxies.

Also, I could really use your inputs on how he could proceed, while not solving all problems right away. We want a story after all.
