38 Chapter 38 – Hello Japan, Hello Nexus Animation

"Martin, how do I look?"

The kind voice came into the ears of Martin O'Connor, who was in the middle of putting his stuff into drawers. Martin is 26 years old and he only just graduated. He has short blond hair, and he is quite tall, almost basketball-level tall. The guy in question also wears glasses and looks too smart for his own good.

After hearing that beautiful melody in his ears, he turned and looked at the goddess in front of him.

The goddess in question is Marie Taylor, the Oxford alumni, and Martin's fiancée.

These two lovebirds are currently in their apartment in Japan, a place that is going to become their new home. Martin got a job and his new workplace even organized an apartment for these two. His first plan was to live in Tokyo, a city where his new workplace is but because Marie found a job in Kisato, he decided to get an apartment in the town where Marie is going to work.

As you probably remember, Kisato is a town well-connected with all big cities and it is also just an hour away from Tokyo, so this was an easy decision to make for Martin and Marie.

Back to the present, we have Marie Taylor ready to go to her new workplace and meet her new boss and the rest of the staff for the first time.

Marie is dressed in a classic dark woman suit, she has beautiful silver earrings on and a black bag. She is a woman of short stature but her energy and professionalism often put other people to their best behavior. She also has short, brown hair, that was always perfect in every sense of the word.

All in all, she was ready to take on a new challenge in her life.

"Sweetheart, you look beautiful, perfect, like always."

With these sugary words, Martin escorted her to the door.

Meanwhile, in the HQ of Nexus Animation, Kira was waiting for the arrival of Marie Taylor and alongside him were Joshua Renji and Toma Yuu.

All three of them were sitting and having a comfortable conversation, while also drinking a beverage of their choice.

Then after a couple of minutes, Joshua Renji asked a question to his young nephew, a question that he wanted to ask earlier.

"Tell me Kira, who is Marie Taylor, I know about her from her CV and I know she went to Oxford, but you went all in when it comes to hiring her?

Kira smiled at that question, he took a sip of his Ice tea and answered his uncle.

"Marie Taylor was the best-performing student in the marketing department at Oxford, she didn't just have good grades, even her practical work she did was on a high level and from what I heard from my friend she is ambitious and full of ideas, we need someone like that."

Kira knew about Marie Taylor, though they never met, but the things he heard gave him confidence that he had made the right call. He also called a couple of his friends and they all vouched for Marie.

The man also called the workplace where she worked part-time and they all only had good things to say about her. In normal circumstances, he wouldn't be able to hire her but because of her moving here, she decided to go with the option that is the safest bet for her – with all that said, Kira and Nexus Animation were quite lucky.

For the next thirty minutes, the three men went over their itinerary for this day and discussed their new employees, as Marie Taylor wasn't the only one who was coming today.

Actually, of the four people they hired, all four are going to be introduced today and Kira was looking forward to that.

As they were talking, Nikola entered the office after knocking on the door and said to his boss.

"Boss, the new employee is here, I think her name is Marie…"

Hearing that, Kira stood up, smiled and said to Nikola – "Please, give her a tour and bring her into my office, thanks…"

Not long after, and another knocking later, a beautiful young woman with a serious face entered the door.

The three men with smiles welcomed her and before she said anything Kira introduced himself.

"Marie Taylor, I presume, my name is Kira Rowe, and I am the CEO and owner of Nexus Animation."

Saying that he gestured to the two men beside him. The first to go after Kira was Joshua Renji.

"Nice to meet you, young lady, I am Joshua Renji, a financier of Nexus Animation and let's say a mentor to this young man beside me, I hope you are going to like working here."

The last sentence Joshua said with a big grin.

The next in the line was a seasoned veteran in this industry, Toma Yuu who with his usual calculating gaze said to the young lady – "My name is Toma Yuu, I am the director and scriptwriter working in Nexus Animation, I don't know how close we will work together but let us hope it is going to be a good working relationship…"

Marie Taylor listened quietly to all three introductions and then in the custom of this country took a slight bow and gave her introduction.

"It is very nice to meet you, my name is Marie Taylor, I am a graduate of Oxford and I have a degree in marketing and from today I will work as a chief officer in the marketing department."

Waiting for her to finish, Kira this time with a serious face asked Marie an important question.

"You are aware of what is happening with my company and your department, right"

"Yes boss, I am aware that the department didn't even exist and I am going to be its first leader, I hope your promise will stand, I will have permission to do stuff like I think they should be done, without any interruption from the management."

Kira just smiled and nodded his head and in return got a resolute nod from the lady.

Then he said to all three of them – "Now that we got this out of the way, I think it is time to get the introduction done for other new employees, I can already hear new voices on the second floor, they arrived."

The four people were standing in front of the rows of tables, ready to introduce themselves, while the usual suspects were looking at them with a lot of interest.

The first person to introduce himself looked like a middle-aged man, dressed sharply in a suit, and with a nervous face, he started speaking.

"Ehm, nice to meet you, everyone, I am Youta Katsurou, 35 years old, I was hired to work here as an animator, I have some experience but I hope you will all help me improve my craft, thank you."

With a bow, this new animator finished with his introduction and the next in line was a hood-boy or boy with a hood, dressed like he was going to some gaming party, looking like he would fall asleep any second, maybe a new best buddy of Noya Katsu?

"Katsumi Hideki, 21 years old, animator…"

Silence

Yes, that was all, a couple of words for an introduction and Kira could only sigh. When he interviewed him, he knew that when he got the job he would fit like a mold with the rest of the characters in the Nexus Animation, because he is also a weirdo.

The next to have an introduction is a sweet and young-looking woman, who has long dark hair and a slim body.

With a nice smile on her face, she looked at everyone on the second floor and started her introduction – "Nice to meet you, my name is Keiko Hana, I am from Tokyo and this is my first job, let's get along."

She finished with words saying that as a lady she can't say to them how old she is and then she cutely smiled.

And now the last person. Marie Taylor introduced herself in a serious tone and everyone looked at her with wonder, after all, she is another foreigner who started working for this company, this company is gathering quite a diverse cast.

After it was all done, Kira clapped his hands and said to the people – "Thank you, everyone, those were some wonderful introductions, you will have time to get familiar with each other, now it's time for some work, it is time to decide the next anime we are going to work on."
