Chapter 15: I Became A Thief

We’re currently at the laundry area of the condo building. It’s on the highest floor with the drying rack found on the roof top. It has a 'wash your own' policy that’s why the owners themselves go here to do their laundry.

Vyl and I are together as we're snuck to go to the rooftop. It’s as if we’re walking normally, or rather climbing normally. We might get in trouble because of my plan but it's the only choice we have for the moment. We might as well give it a try.

We reached the rooftop and my hunch was right on the mark. It's Saturday which means it's wash day for everyone. Well, except for me maybe. I wash my clothes every Sunday. There are many clothes currently hanged here. We can borrow some in the meantime.

"I can't believe I'm doing this for you." I shook my head as I looked at Vyl.

He smirked beside me. "We're just going to borrow it, right? I see nothing wrong in that."

I quickly smacked him. Even though this is my idea, I'm still against it, you know. We’re already stealing. And excuse me? Me? A Thief? I can't even imagine. I can't imagine it but I'm doing it. I just rolled my eyes at him.

"We're borrowing it without permission. Of course, it's wrong."

He just shrugged, his smirk still present. We walked around nonchalantly, secretly looking for clothes that will fit him. It's a bit hard because Vylant has a well-built body and almost every clothes we're seeing now fits to small figures only. And Vyl is definitely not small. He’s not big as well. For me, his build is just right.

Fortunately, there are only a few people present at the rooftop. And everyone is busy hanging their clothes.

I saw a black polo shirt with white lining and I thought will fit Vyl. After making sure that no one's looking, I nabbed it immediately. All there’s left are the lower ones. I was looking around to check if there are any pants or trousers that can fit Vyl when I hear someone call out my name.

"Hey, Ven! I think this will fit me." He loudly called out to me while holding a pair of black jeans. I looked around to see if anyone noticed what we’re doing. After making sure, I quickly pulled him and went down.

My heart is racing like crazy. I can't believe I just did that! I mean, we did that. "Why did you have to shout? What if we got caught?!" I said begrudgingly as I smacked his shoulders. We were laughing hard while on the way back to my unit.

As soon as we got inside the condo, he got himself changed. While he's getting dressed, I grabbed the shoes that I’ll be wearing. I chose my black boots. It fits well with my outfit. I'm in all black today. I like it. I smiled with satisfaction as I saw my whole get up in front of a full-length mirror.

Speaking of shoes, Vyl still doesn’t have a pair yet. And then I remembered my gift to Hell for his birthday. I still haven't given it to him yet. I’ll have Vyl wear it in the meantime. I hope it fits him too.

He came out of the room full dressed, the nabbed clothes fitting him just right. He's almost in all black too. Except for the white linings of his polo-shirt.

"Looks good on you." I told him honestly. He gave me a smile in return. A genuine smile.

"You think so? It feels weird though. Wearing these clothes, I mean." I just smirked at him. Of course, he’s not used to it. His clothes were weird and if he wore that, people would just stare at him. We wouldn't want unnecessary attentions.

I went inside my room to grab the shoes that were supposed to be a gift for my brother. I'll just buy Hell a new one. I went out and handed him the box containing the shoes.

He opened the box and pulled the shoes out of the box without uttering a word. He put it on and, fortunately, he knew how to wear it. I laughed silently because of my thoughts.

"Shoes in this world are weird too." He commented as he put the white sneakers on. I leered at him due to his comment. Well, it may be a bit weird for him, considering his shoes.

The shoes he was wearing when he fell here had a peculiar design. He’d look like an idiot if he walked around wearing those. The same goes with his clothes.

"It's a bit small." I bent down to check it and it somehow fit him, at the very least. I’ll just buy him a new pair later.

"Bear with it for now. Wait until we buy a pair that fits your size." I said to him before pulling him out of the condo.

We hailed a taxi. Here I am thinking that this ride would be peaceful but, oh boy, am I mistaken. There goes Vyl again with his idiocy.

He’s playing with the car window. He kept on pressing the button to close and open the window.

Close. Open. Close. Open.

I saw the driver furrow his eyebrows while staring at us from the rear-view mirror. Any minute now and he’ll scold Vyl so I scolded the childish guy laughing beside me instead so that it will not escalate.

"Hey, stop that!" I spat at him before smacking his hand that was repeatedly pressing the buttons. He looked at me then smiled.

"It's cool."

I rolled my eyes at him and then looked outside the window again. This will be a long day for the both of us.

---------------

We're now currently inside the mall and people are staring at us. Well, I'll admit that I'm really a head-turner everywhere I go. Maybe I stand out due to my natural brown color of my hair. Add the fact that I’m beautiful too. But the real reason why a lot of people had their eyes locked on us, is because of this guy beside me. Almost every girl that gazes at him can’t help but squeal in delight.

I hate to admit it but he's indeed good-looking, not to mention his perfect body shape. If I’m already standing out because of my hair, then what about his hair peppered with different streaks of colors. And green is an attractive color.

But him? He doesn’t give an ounce of care.

It’s as if he’s in his own bubble. He’s to mesmerized with everything he’s seeing. He's turning his head everywhere. As soon as he sees something new, he’ll point it out like a giddy kid out for a play date. Oftentimes I just shake my in dismay but there also times that I can’t help but smile with the he’s acting.

Different hair color is common in this generation. There are innumerable people dyeing their hair with different colors that’s why it’s not something new or weird anymore. We're just too stunning that’s why everyone’s staring at us here. I don't know if that's good or not.

We're currently looking for a restaurant. I’m getting famished and I’m pretty sure this guy beside as well is.

I pulled him into a restaurant that I think has appetizing food. I ordered for the two of us while this guy is still looking around non-stop.

"Vyl," I nudged him, calling for his attention which soon made him turn towards me. "Stop acting so ignorant. They might think you’re from the boonies."

"This place is amazing. It's like we're not on earth anymore." He merrily stated. "Let's go here often."

"We can't. I have classes on weekdays and sometimes I'm busy during weekends. I’m only free now." He frowned, resting his cheeks on his palm with a glower.

Just in time, our orders arrived and we took our lunch. It’s a good thing that he has table manners. He eats like a royalty. I forgot that this guy in front of me is a prince.
