The large hand on the clock in the room had already passed once. Vice President Gu only reached halfway into the presentation during this hour. The increasingly darker face of Shen Yue made him even more afraid. It seemed like nothing had gone right today. Not only did the executives show up later than the president, but they also failed to please him with their proposals. The worst part was the fact that lunchtime was approaching! No one wanted to stay with the president in the meeting room for lunch. But what could they do? Work was work and certainly, no one was going to remind the big devil that they were hungry unless they wanted to be the fuel to the devil's anger.

Vice President Gu's mouth was so dry from talking so much and he was dying for a sip of water. He looked at the minute hand of the clock sorrowfully before turning his attention back to the head of the table. He continued to speak despite his dehydrated throat.

"Sir," gulped Vice President Gu. "Is there anything in the quarterly proposal you would like to amend?"

Just as Shen Yue opened his mouth to speak, a loud ring tone pierced through the tense meeting room.

Almost immediately, the temperature of the room plummeted as Shen Yue's face blackened.

He asked harshly, "Who?"

The executives in the room each quickly sent a small prayer up that it wasn't them. Whoever it was, the fact remained that they were not going to make it out of the room unscathed. Everyone eyed each other and secretly thought about the amount of money they should contribute to the funeral preparations. However, it seemed that the source of the sound came from the president??

Vice President Gu's eyes widened. There was no possible way...

The melodious tone from the phone continued to ring inside Shen Yue's breast suit pocket.

Secretary Chen coughed lightly and spoke quietly into Shen Yue's ear.

"President, your phone is ringing."

Five minutes earlier.

Xu Wenqi was simply dazed. The villain's company was too large compared to the one she had worked at previously.

'Is this what a multi-billionaire corporation looks like?' she thought incredulously.

Xu Wenqi had to use her hand to cover the sun's rays from reaching her eyes as she attempted to look at the top of the skyscraper. Its transparent glass dyed with golden hue by the sun outlined the majesty of its width and height. Xu Wenqi's attention fell to the front with the constant stream of people dressed in professional attire walking in and out the revolving doors of the building. She suddenly felt a little out of place with her casual wear.

Recalling Butler Wang's words, she steeled her mind to enter.

"Miss, if you show sincerity to the master and explain yourself clearly, he'll most likely forgive you."

As for how to show sincerity, Xu Wenqi looked at the bag containing a personally made lunch inside and sighed, "Forget it, if he's not willing to eat it, I'll just give it to Butler Wang."

Walking through the glass doors, she was swept away by the clean and tastefully decorated interior. Xu Wenqi walked up to the receptionist center and waited quietly for the young lady to finish talking on the phone while drinking in her surroundings. The receptionist ended the call neatly and turned to face Xu Wenqi. She was immediately taken aback by the sweet looking girl in front of her. Who was this fairy that descended to the earth? Tang Wan simply couldn't handle this beauty and the most important fact yet was this girl looked better than her idols!! Being a super fan of XXX's girl group, Tang Wang simply was funny and angry. She thought her favorite member was the most beautiful but this girl was completely on a different level. Her large rounded eyes coupled with her soft red lips and smooth, palm-sized face was too stunning. Tang Wan couldn't take her eyes away no matter how much she wanted to. But the key point was she didn't want to.

Xu Wenqi was a little uncomfortable with the blatant stare and blushed a little being looked at so vividly. She just parted her lips to say something when the receptionist suddenly woke up. Tang Wan straightened her back and smiled professionally.

"Yes, hello. How may I help you today?"

"Ah, yes, do you know if your president is free right now?"

Tang Wang shook her head and looked regretful.

"Sorry, we can't disclose anything about the president's schedule until we identify who you are. Do you perhaps have an appointment?"

Xu Wenqi looked embarrassed.

"No…"

"Then do you have his contact?"

Xu Wenqi looked even more embarrassed. She did but the problem was she didn't want to talk to him. Xu Wenqi hadn't forgotten what happened last night and she felt a bit awkward to call him now.

She coughed and replied knowing full well she had it, "Ah, I'll check.".

At present, the call connected as the receptionist stared with large eyes. Xu Wenqi turned away from the desk and covered the mouthpiece as she asked cautiously, "Erm, are you busy now?"

On the other side, Shen Yue had walked out of the meeting room to answer the call and heard a soft voice coming from his phone. His morning frustration still didn't fade hearing her.

"Why?"

"N-nothing, I just heard from Butler Wang you didn't eat breakfast and you don't usually eat lunch so I-I just brought you some…" trailed off Xu Wenqi quietly.

Shen Yue sneered. Why even bother with him when she clearly was together with his half-brother? The fact that she had left to meet with Huo Lizheng and the rest of that family was plain as day. As for why she met with them, anyone with half a brain could figure out what the Huo and Xu family's intentions were.

"What does it matter to you?"

His hostile tone pierced her uncomfortably.

"Ah- but I'm already here?"

Shen Yue gripped the phone with more pressure.

Not waiting for him to reply, she asked sensitively, "Are you angry? You- don't be so angry. I didn't mean to go out early, I just- I was going to explain later..."

He hung up the phone abruptly.

Xu Wenqi had originally planned to let him eat her food and then pretend to inadvertently mention what happened in the morning so he had no choice to accept her explanation after he received her peace offering.
