A Deadly Surprise

Mark Albert Carson is a black-haired boy, 15 years in age, with blue eyes and peach-colored skin. He is very kind and intelligent. But he was a little unfriendly. That's why he has only two friends, Ralph and Chris. His father, Albert Carson, belongs to India but currently living in New York with his son, Mark. Mark's mother passed away just after having him but the reason for its death is still unknown. His father is a scientist, who spent most of his time in his lab and sometimes he even spent a whole week in his lab. That's the reason why Mark mostly stayed alone. Mark usually spends his time reading books, studying, watching TV.

It was the first day of the summer vacation, a sunny day when Mark was sleeping in his bedroom as usual but that day wasn't that ordinary.

Just a few seconds before his alarm, he woke up.

"Nice!" He said sleepily. "I wake up without any alarm. Let's see how early from 8:00 I awake."

He opened his smartphone and the time was 8:15 AM.

"What!? What The Hell Is Wrong with The alarm I set for 8:00 AM!? It 8:15 and didn't ring!?" He shouted and jumped to his feet.

"What?" He said. "Same mistake! It's set for 8:00 PM! How can I do this mistake on this day!? Anyways, I should hurry up! My surprise might be ready!" He went to the bathroom, brushed, changed his clothes, and went downstairs.

"Dad! I'm ready!" He said while going downstairs. No reply came.

"Dad?" He repeated when checking in every room but he neither got any reply nor anybody. He then went to the kitchen. On the dining table, there is a plate, in which laid some Toast under the plate was a note.

"What's this?" He said and pick and read the note.

"Mark, Happy Birthday, My boy!" He read. "I remember the surprise I promised you very well and it's ready in my lab. It's something that can only be given here, in this lab. So, eat your breakfast and come here. But don't come alone! Call me when you're ready and I'll send Chris to pick you. I'll tell you the reason later."

"What?" He said excitingly. "I'll get my surprise gift in Dad's lab? What in the world that surprise can be?" He then started his breakfast.

While eating his breakfast, he remembered his dad's words. "Why?" He thought. "Why did dad told me not to come alone? What could be the reason? Whatever the reason is, I'll know it there."

He just finished his breakfast when his doorbell rang. "Who can come at this time?" He said. "Coming!" He went and opened the door.

There stood two teenagers, one was red-haired, peach-skinned, with red eyes. He's a little taller than Mark. Another one was a yellow-haired boy. In height, he's as same as Mark.

"Happy Birthday, Mark!!" They both said when they showed him their gifts. "Here are your gifts!"

"Thanks, guys!" He replied. "Come, let's unpack these gifts."

They all went to Mark's room upstairs and started to unpack those gifts. One of the gifts was a beautiful watch and the other was headphones.

"Wow!" Said, Mark. "These gifts are Amazing! Thanks, Ralph and Chris!"

"So, what are your plans for today?" Ralph, the red-haired one, asked.

"Uh, Nothing special. I'll now go to Dad's lab, as he wants to give his surprise there. and then as always, I'm free." He replied.

"Surprise at the lab? Sounds interesting."

"Yeah, but what are your plans for today?"

"Nothing special, either." Replied both of them.

"So, let's go to the lab together, and then we'll go to our special place from there. Will, you guys come?"

"Sure, why not?" Both of them agreed to go with him.

"So, let me call Dad to send his driver to pick us." He replied and then called his dad for sending his driver.

Within 20-30 minutes, their driver came with a cab. He was a tall man with a well-shaved beard. They all went to the lab on that. In the cab, Ralph asked, "Don't you've any idea of what your Dad's going to give you."

"Yeah," He replied. "He said that the thing is very precious to him. That's the only thing I know."

"It must be an amazing gift. Maybe some of his research or invention?"

"Yeah. It can be. Well, we don't have to wait for more. Here's the lab!"

The cab stopped in front of a beautiful and modern building. There was a Name board on that building, on which 'Carson's Lab' was written.

"Who's excited to see the present!!" Mark said with great excitement.

"Nobody can be excited as you're" Chris replied.

"That's so! So let's see what's my surprise-" He just said this when a scream came from the lab.

"Help!!!!!" It said.

"What's that!?" Ralph said.

"That's David's voice!" Said Mark, "He's dad's assistant! Let's get inside and see what happens!!"

All of them rushed to the lab. When they entered, all the things inside the lab were scattered on the floor, even some chemicals. It seems that a serious quarrel had occurred. But the biggest and the creepiest thing was lying in the middle of all these things.

In the middle of that lab, laid a deadly, blood-covered, Corpse!
