1 How it started…

This story was told to me by Roku during our normal farming activities. Our world has four main tribes the fire tribe, the water tribe, the air tribe and the earth tribe. The war started after a prophecy about a stone that can convert a tribe's elements. It stated that any tribe that has the "phoenix jewel" would be able to make all tribes under theirs making the world with only one element. But if it is gotten by a differ , the differ would be able to make their own tribe.

I asked "what is a differ?". He told me this are people born with different elements from the normal ones we have , some are born under a tribe but is born different, some have no history. He explained further telling me that if a differ gets the phoenix jewel that he would be able to make his own tribe and have people that would accept him.

"Where is the jewel?" I asked , he said that it has not been found but it because of it the tribes are in war with each other. Some people think the jewel is a cause and should be hidden, while others say that the jewel would only appear where all the tribes are in peaceful harmony. Roku said " Date-san the jewel is rumored to be in our island ".

Our island was like a refugee camp for people of all tribes to come and get shelter. Everyone has their role and we support each other and hope that the war passes. I am from the fire tribe but I was given birth to on this island. My father ran away from the fire tribe because all men were sent to war. My father was a coward. I grew up here , learning, training and playing my role here . When Roku told me that the phoenix jewel might be on these island I was shocked because I thought our island was just filled with refugees. This changed my perspective and anyone on this island can save the world.

An unusual storm came out of nowhere and blew crops and buildings away. One of the watch guards can to Roku and said "we are under attack ". Roku was the strongest on the island, I was part of the soldiers but I was not as strong as the others. During crisis like this I was taught to be at the back of everyone and evacuate the people on the island in case of emergency.We headed to the gate of the island and I took my position. I was at the back but I could see a tall man with blonde hairs on a black robe holding a katana. I have not seen any tribe or even anyone dressed like that. I was not worried because I knew that he was outnumbered and no way he could defeat Roku.

The man asked "Where is the jewel?" All the soldiers laughed and made fun of him, but I could feel that something wasn't right . His eyes were glowing like it had lighting inside and the breeze blew him in an odd way. Roku said " Do you think if we had it we would give it to you ?" From the crowd's you could hear people calling him crazy and he should be killed. He asked again "Where is the jewel?". This mad the soldiers pissed and they were all shouting "kill him". Roku told him that the island doesn't have the jewel . Roku was a man with a kind of unique weapon. It was a long chain with two knives attached to both ends. These weapon was a legend in this island, it was my first time seeing it . The man on the robe pulled out his katana.

After these all I could hear was sounds of people flying and screaming. It was like just a blink of an eye and I saw these man flying towards me . I couldn't process what was going on but I saw him switching the part of the sword he was going to hit me from the blade to the handle. On the floor I was and I saw all the soldiers in pieces except Roku who was shocked . It wasn't just the soldiers, the buildings on the island were all destroyed.

Suddenly I heard metal's clashing, Roku was attacking the man on robe .

This was not a fight, all I could see was Roku trying to hit these man but he was just too fast. The man hit Roku with his katana, the force from the katana sent Roku flying. In my head I thought " He didn't add a lot of force!!". What was Roku doing? Is he trying to lose this battle? Or he is just warming up? Or I am just hallucinating?. The man dragged his sword on the ground leaving marks , and I saw something I have never seen before.

His sword emitted yellow lighting. Roku in a terrified voice said " A differ …. The jewel is not here but please spare the people on the island ". After these Roku was on the floor bleeding and the man standing beside him. All I could remember seeing was a yellow light. I rushed to the dying body of Roku and told him "You didn't tell me you were this weak" he laughed and his eyes closed.

The man on the robe looked at at me and said "I am Hasake "and vanished with yellow lighting sparks and a loud noise.

I burst into tears and began shouting. Then I remembered the other people on the island, I started preparing for us to evacuate to find a new place. During these evacuation, the fire tribe came stopped us . They wanted to take every fire users to join there army. Stepping up I asked "What if the remaining of us ?." One of the soldiers answered me saying "They would be killed to reduce the number of rivals we have to face."

All fire users where taken and the remaining were killed . I could not do anything because of the numbers. I watched a lot of my friends killed . The rest of us were taken to the fire tribe and that how it all started.
