54 Winners

"Alright, moving on, it's time for the official award ceremony. The first category is our Pop Rising Star Award, and the nominees are..."

The host took a brief look at their script before announcing with enthusiasm, "Eric Moon with his soul-stirring song 'I Was There,' Cheng Xiaofan with the energetic track 'The King of Street Dance,' Wang Hailun with the captivating tune 'Forgot About Love,' Xue Zhixian with the heartfelt ballad 'Keep It Simple,' and Lin Xunjie with the infectious hit 'Circle Circle Round Round'!"

It was time for the pop genre, and five artists were nominated. Among them was Cheng Xiaofan, who had once engaged in a 'friendly' competition with TMY.

A large screen behind the host illuminated the stage as the names and their impressive works were unveiled. It showcased striking visuals, such as the artist's image or, in Eric's case, his album cover, while snippets of their nominated songs played in the background. The dynamic lighting effects added a mesmerizing touch to the performance, underscoring the director's remarkable talent in seamlessly presenting each nominee.

"There are actually a couple of ear-catching songs," Miaoyi commented from the comfort of her home, expressing her appreciation.

Although Miaoyi couldn't attend the Canxing Nova Awards in person, she could still sense the electrifying atmosphere through the television screen.

Miaoyi was not one to shy away from praising outstanding musical works, showcasing her discerning taste and a keen eye for talent.

Qiuying nodded in agreement, her eyes betraying a hint of envy. "I wish I could share the stage with them."

"Don't worry. It's just one award ceremony. With me by your side, you'll have plenty more opportunities in the future," Miaoyi replied, playfully pursing her lips.

"By the way, according to Zhang Dongliang, the celebrity rating system will be implemented shortly after the Nova Awards. I'm curious to know which category you'll be placed in," Qiuying showed a mild interest in Miaoyi's earlier remark, but her curiosity was primarily focused on TMY's evaluation. "You should already be on the list, right?"

"Yes, I'll be on the list. Light Cloud has confirmed my nomination for the Nova Awards, so I should already be in the running," Miaoyi affirmed, nodding. "But I don't anticipate receiving a high rating just yet."

Tang Miaoyi comprehended the purpose behind this system. The rating system aimed to better regulate and manage celebrities, providing a tangible measurement of their prominence. It served as a driving force for stars to increase their influence. The ratings would be updated annually, emphasizing the need for continuous growth and improvement. Ratings could also decline if their actions or works failed to set a positive example for the public, such as involvement in scandals, infidelity, or tax evasion. The rating could even be revoked in extreme cases, like drug abuse or domestic violence.

In this world, controversial incidents were not too dissimilar from the previous ones. The introduction of this system, to some extent, helped curtail such occurrences.

"To invigorate the entertainment industry in China and promote a more wholesome culture, this system is indeed beneficial," Miaoyi wholeheartedly agreed.

An Qiuying nodded silently and then inquired, "By the way, who do you think will emerge as the winner of the Pop Award?"

With the discussion about ratings concluded, the focus naturally shifted to the Canxing Nova Awards. As the event progressed into its pivotal phase -the award presentation- it was only normal for Qiuying to speculate about the upcoming winner.

The Canxing Nova Awards encompassed various mainstream music genres, including pop, rock, folk, electronic, hip-hop, and classical. Nine awards were up for grabs, and among them was TMY's nomination for electronic music.

Tang Miaoyi's response to Qiuying's question was straightforward. She scoffed and remarked, "Well, as long as it's not Cheng Xiaofan."

When it came to one of the pop category nominees, Cheng Xiaofan, Tang Miaoyi still harbored a grudge. Despite emerging as the victor, she hadn't forgotten their heated competition from before. Even though she won their competition, it doesn't mean she forgave him, and it certainly doesn't mean she wants him to win.

Tang Miaoyi had never been known for her forgiving or generous nature, so it was commendable that she hadn't caused any further trouble.

Light Cloud and Tianyou had no idea what they had gotten themselves into...

"Well, if he does win, try to stay calm," Qiuying scolded Miaoyi for her impulsive nature, giving her a sidelong glance. "I don't want to clean up after you again."

"Hmph," Miaoyi huffed and continued watching the television.

On the TV screen, the results had yet to be announced. The broadcast had just concluded a series of commercials. It was evident that the program producers knew how to build suspense and captivate the audience, not only ensnaring viewers like Qiuying but also engrossing the attending guests and celebrities.

Among the nominees, anxiety ran high, with their hearts pounding in anticipation. They yearned to know the final outcome as soon as possible.

Finally, the results were announced, and to Tang Miaoyi's satisfaction, the Pop Award didn't end up in the hands of her "old friend" Cheng Xiaofan. Instead, it went to a lesser-known singer, Eric Moon, known for his charismatic voice and headstrong vocals.

Unfortunately, Eric Moon Had a representative receive his award for him, so the broadcast director had to use shots of the failed nominees instead of the prideful victor.

As the camera zoomed in on Cheng Xiaofan's face, he struggled to force a fake smile but failed miserably. His grimace slipped through the corners of his mouth, and his eyes appeared lifeless.

"Haha, he failed!!! He looks so upset hahahaahhaha!!" Miaoyi laughed, her face beaming with delight.

An Qiuying smiled at her antics, well aware of the animosity between TMY and the famous male artist. She recalled the harsh criticism Miaoyi received from his fans on Weibo during their previous altercation. Therefore, she didn't find it surprising.

"You do realize he lost partly because of you, right? Don't you feel a little bit bad?"

"Nope!" Miaoyi said brightly. "OOH, look! His face is turning into a pumpkin! You could cook an egg on his face!"

"Hahahaha!" Finally, An Qioying joined in on the laughing.

It wasn't particularly surprising that the Pop Award didn't go to the artist with the larger fanbase. This award was based on merit, not the size of one's fanbase or popularity. The Canxing Nova Awards, renowned as the most prestigious newcomer award, had a judging panel with distinct perspectives from the general public.

The upcoming awards would showcase rock, folk, hip-hop, classical, and electronic music before the grand finale, the Rising Star Award, which celebrated the top newcomer artist of the year. The proceedings continued, occasionally punctuated by Miaoyi's lighthearted interjections, engaging in pleasant conversations with Qiuying, and sharing her own opinions.

Apart from the Pop Award, Miaoyi hadn't heard of any of the nominees in the other music genres. Perhaps Qiuying knew some people, but Miaoyi clearly didn't have high expectations for the upcoming proceedings.

Until the last award before the top artist award...

The Canxing Nova Electronic Music Rising Star Award.

"Alright, everyone, please be quiet."

"Alright, everyone, please settle down."

"Next up is the second-to-last segment of our Canxing Nova Awards, where we present the award for the top Electronic Music Producer of the year. With its captivating, innovative, distinct, and unique characteristics, electronic music holds a magical allure. The nominees include..."
