The landscape was changing.

And what was the person responsible for it doing?

"Yawn~"...

The curtains of her room were closed, and even though the sun had already risen, the interior of the room was still dark.

Tang Miaoyi sat up on her bed, her eyes underlined with dark bags still.

She yawned again, slapped her face, and then...

.

..

...

Promptly went back to sleep.

It was not until two hours later that she woke up for real this time. She finally opened her eyes, and acting her outer age for once, opened her phone almost immediately and began scrolling.

An Qiuying had already gone to school, and she didn't wake Tang Miaoyi up.

Well, she tried to, but shaking her wasn't enough, and Qiuying didn't want to be rude and splash her with water.

She glanced at the time, realizing it was 11:30, and she hadn't eaten yet. Since Qiuying wasn't home to make food, she ordered breakfast for delivery, then clicked on the app store and downloaded an e-commerce online shopping app.

She still needed to record a video after all, and who could record one without equipment? Fortunately, in her talk with Light Cloud, Yang He kindly donated some funds, so money was no longer an issue.

And all the equipment she got now would be useful for making music in the future.

Soon, the app was installed, and conveniently, she could sign in with her email to skip the hassle of making a new account. Since her bank was connected to her email, she didn't even have to add a credit card!

She was living in the future!

As for what to do for the promotional video, Tang Miaoyi didn't worry about it. She clicked the massive search bar and directly searched for a midi pad.

Compared with a turn table, this is the best and cheapest choice. She didn't even bother checking if 30000¥ could buy a professional quality turn table. The answer was probably no, and in terms of visuals, a pad is easier to understand for the casual viewer.

Also, while she will eventually need to get a turn table, right now she doesn't even know how to use one! She was a music critic in her last life, not the producer she pretends to be!

Fortunately, she had learned how to use a midi pad at some point, and once she got the hang of it, she found it surprisingly intuitive. She would much rather work with what she knows than dive into the deep end without knowing how to swim.

And the most important thing is that a pad is not expensive, you can buy one for a few thousand yuan, and get a set of monitoring headphones included!

After confirming the payment and closing the app, the only thing she could do was wait. To save time, Tang Miaoyi chose a store located in the same city she lived in, Shanghai, and the delivery time is 1 to 5 days.

Tang Miaoyi turned over and clicked on the communication app, and checked the new news as usual.

Ding~~

An Qiuying: Nine new messages.

Light Cloud Music Library Audit - Yun Jie: Five new messages.

An Qiuying had sent her nine new messages, and she also had a few messages from Light Cloud.

Regarding the message An Qiuying sent, Tang Miaoyi opened them first, but she had just sent pictures of the blackboard.

Of course, Tang Miaoyi instantly ignored them.

The news from Light Cloud's side made Tang Miaoyi's eyes suddenly brighten, and she became excited.

"Fox" had reached the top of the weekly electronic music charts, and was firmly occupying first place.

Unbeknownst to her, there was a rather annoying dispute going on behind the scenes.

Light Cloud, like many media apps, had a rating system, where you could rate songs a 1-5 star rating. Originally, "Fox" had been rated highly, with a 4.8-star rating, but overnight it had shrunk dramatically to 3.6 stars.

This was due to the fans of The Rex boycotting her song, as she had unknowingly knocked "The Dodo" out of its top ranking. The fans intentionally rated her song badly, as there wasn't a dislike feature on the platform. If one existed, the dislikes would have numbered in the tens of thousands.

This sparked a rating war since TMY had picked up quite a few fans over the last 2 days. The ratings for "The Dodo" took a small dive, but the hit "The Dodo" took wasn't nearly as significant as "Fox", simply due to The Rex having been around longer, and having a larger fanbase.

As for how Tang Miaoyi felt about this whole debate...

...

..

.

She didn't care at all!

Why should a critic ever care about what's said to them? Their entire job was to criticize others. If they couldn't handle a little criticism, they should switch professions!

As such, the rating system held no value to Miaoyi. She much preferred to track success by the views and likes, rather than something as misleading as a star rating.

Additionally, Tang Miaoyi never thought that "Fox" could be liked by everyone. She presumed that the low rating was only due to its rising popularity, nothing more!

Even if she knew, she would let the fans fight it out on their own. She only cared about what other professionals had to say, so she'd only respond if another producer or critic stood up and did something.

Moving on to the other Light Cloud message, they warned her about the dispute, and to not be affected by it.

"-Take a few days to rest instead."

"Okay, I understand." Tang Miaoyi typed a quick reply.

She knew this from the other world. To make it in this volatile industry, you have to stay calm...

Next, the other party suggested Tang Miaoyi get a certified Weibo account and send a link to them, and Light Cloud officials would help to verify it.

'So Weibo exists here too... Honestly, the inconsistencies in the setting are throwing me off..."

(A/N Don't worry about it!)

'Sure, if you say so...'

Tang Miaoyi thought about it, and there was nothing wrong with it. Having a Weibo was indeed a great help to her, whether it was to announce something, consolidate her popularity, or interact with fans.

After clicking the link, Tang Miaoyi needed to fill in her personal information, which she quickly did.

Soon after, Tang Miaoyi registered on Weibo with an ID of 'TMY is me', because a large number of zombie accounts and imitation accounts have appeared, and already every other variation of TMY was taken. She made her profile picture the cover of "Fox", and her bio read,

"Electronic Music Producer/DJ"

She then sent a link from her account to Light Cloud, and within 15 minutes, a yellow icon with a V appeared beside her avatar.

'Wow, they're efficient.' she thought.

"Hi everyone, I'm TMY."

After casually publishing the first post, Tang Miaoyi waited enthusiastically for a minute or two, refreshed the page, and read it again.

The number of followers rose to 709.

The first post has 20 comments, 3 retweets, and 57 likes!

"The growth is gratifying." Tang Miaoyi expressed her satisfaction with this statistic. It was actually very cool to see her fans growing bit by bit.

Just then, the food she ordered arrived. She logged out of her account and picked up her delivery.

She spent a good 45 minutes eating, then decided to wash up a bit, did a few minor chores, which took up even more time, and eventually, got back to her computer to see the changes.

It was 2 in the afternoon, and 2 and a half hours had passed since the registration of Weibo. After Tang Miaoyi refreshed again, the data underwent earth-shaking changes.

Looking at it, the number of followers had broken through the 50,000 mark within the time she was away, and her message notifications read +999. Unfortunately for her ears, the message box was dinging every time she got a new message!

'AAAAAAHHHH, TURN OF NOTIFICATION SOUNDS!! Whew, that's better...'

How does she respond to this? Over 1000 messages in an hour? This is impossible!

Tang Miaoyi opened the first few messages and looked through them.

"Finally you joined Weibo! I love "Fox"!!!"

"AAAAAHHH, PLeAsE reply, I want to know when the next song will be released, I am your biggest fan!!"

"PLEASE read my message! The doctor told me I had 24 hours to live, and the only cure is you sitting on my face! Man or woman, it doesn't matter to me!!!!"

"Brother TMY, sorry to bother you like this, but I have nowhere else to go. You see, my brother and I come from Nigeria, and we lost our foortun in a horrible axident. All I need is the last 3 digits of your credit card..."

"Trash "Fox", trash artist, trash song, you can never take the place of The Rex, the King, Die die die die..."

"Hey, there's this wedding on Friday, you want to come with? I'm Eric, btw."

Tang Miaoyi seems to have attracted every single type of person available, as her messages are still flooding in.

Taking a hasty glance and ignoring the spam, Tang Miaoyi casually found two real fans to reply to, then logged out, and murmured, "I seem to... have become popular by accident?"

Tang Miaoyi didn't realize the impact of the song "Fox", with the addition of hundreds of thousands of people who have heard it, and the debate around "Fox" and "The Dodo" has really made her name spread.

Already, the results of a web search for "Fox" and 'TMY' have exceeded 100,000, and TMY already has an entry in The Free Encyclopedia.

The waves she created were still getting larger…
