"'Dragon Clan I: Dawn of Fire.' - TMY. Embark on a journey to Casell, a new era unfolds."

Xiao Li was intrigued.

TMY was not an author he expected to see. Having lived in China in the past three months—while he wasn't a fan of TMY—he knew of TMY as an Electronic Music Producer/DJ. Branching out so suddenly into literature after receiving success elsewhere only added to the mystery.

On top of that, not only was this novel online—and by an author who by all means should not be writing a novel—it was technically free...

After all, this app was free to download. He didn't have to pay to access this service at all, all he had to do was click download. So, he could pass the time by reading it casually. Even if it wasn't good, he wouldn't lose anything.

The app downloaded swiftly, and soon he had created a new account. As soon as he entered the app, the massive banner for 'Dragon Clan' sprawled across the home screen in an unmistakable fashion.

"Well, if they want me to read it so badly, might as well check it out." Xiao Li chuckled at the aggressive advertising techniques.

As he tapped on the screen, a large dragon-themed cover filled his screen, along with a brief introduction.

"Lu Mingfei was just an ignorant high school student, but a letter from Cassell Academy changed his ordinary life. In the call of passion and mystery, and the choice between love and dreams, he resolutely chose the unknown..."

Looking at the book's title, it was indeed "Dragon Clan I: Dawn of Fire." It seemed impressive, and it appeared that "Tangrenyi Culture" had invested a lot into it.

After reading the introduction, Xiao Li was instantly captivated as his expectations began to rise. "It seems like a Western fantasy-type work. This introduction is quite appealing..."

One had to admit that Xiao Li was hooked.

This brief "Dragon Clan" introduction of just a few hundred words contained a wealth of information. This was the ultimate test of an author's penmanship, as it served as the first threshold to attract readers' attention. Whether a reader could be enticed into picking up a book depended on these few hundred words.

Firstly, it went without saying that Lu Mingfei was likely the protagonist of this series. But what was this so-called Cassell Academy? Xiao Li was quite puzzled. How could an academy be related to mystery and passion? What kind of academy could change someone's ordinary life with just a single letter?

And the sentence at the end of the introduction: "Strange courses, crazy teachers, and university seniors."

With a trace of curiosity and favour, Xiao Li found himself naturally clicking to the next page. He admitted that he had already been successfully captivated.

"It looks like this bonus supplement is a big hit..." Xiao Li murmured to himself.

After turning the page, there was a small table of contents: Prologue, Volume One: Gate of Cassell 1-4!

With the turn of the next page, Xiao Li's thoughts quickly settled down. The entire room fell silent, with only the occasional sound of fingers tapping.

Time passed quickly, and already two full days had passed.

December 15.

On what should have been a calm and ordinary day, the literary world seemed anything but peaceful due to a small matter - the first-day data of "Tangrenyi Culture's" app had been officially compiled and was now posted on China's largest literary forum - Wenhua Tribe.

For some reason, it took two days to get the first-day data.

Huh, almost sounds familiar...

...

..

.

...At this moment, many people were eagerly waiting to see the first-day analytics of "Tangrenyi Culture's" new app. The reason? The recent buzz about China's first female top 100 DJ, TMY, venturing into the literary world with her crossover work, which was published in "Tangrenyi Culture!"

A new force, still a teenager, flourishing in the world of electronic music, was now stepping into the literary world. Naturally, this caught the attention of many.

Before the official release, TMY had openly announced it in an interview, which sparked some controversy and upset some literary figures.

So, many were eager to see what the first-day data would look like.

And when people clicked on the post on the cultural forum and saw the data, it exploded.

Of course, it wasn't the literary community that exploded; it was the people who saw the data...

The data report was written like this:

["Tangrenyi Culture" "Dragon Clan I: Dawn of Fire": Views: 50,040, Collections: 313. Satisfaction Survey: 9.1 points, Anticipation Score: 9.0 points.]

The latest issue of "Tangrenyi Culture" achieved a nationwide total view count of nearly 50,000 on its first day...

Some background, "Tangrenyi Culture" isn't the only online literature website/app. There were other apps with similar concepts, that had similar functions and interaction methods. So, there were other precedents to compare this first day to.

And, while "Dragon Clan I: Dawn of Fire" didn't perform poorly, compared to the impact someone with a built-in audience like TMY should have, it missed the mark by a lot.

With such results, it seemed highly likely that the much-publicized "Top 100 DJ's Crossover" work had officially flopped.

And this flop was quite tragic to witness, leaving people feeling a bit sympathetic.

As for the satisfaction survey results for the "Dragon Clan" series displayed on the data report, it was already overlooked and disregarded.

With such a meagre overall figure, the data collected for the survey was simply inadequate to be of any significance. The fact remained: TMY seemed to have gone down the drain!

At this moment, everyone who had been observing the situation exploded.

"She flopped just like that?"

"Isn't it too sudden? Doesn't she have a large fan base? Where did her 9 million Weibo fans go?"

"Tangrenyi Culture always had dismal sales. Honestly, it's not that surprising at this point."

"Hahaha, this is so delightful to watch! Honestly, I'm just glad to see one of those clout-chasing celebrities fail for once. They really thought the literary world was a playground for self promotion? Ridiculous!"

The news of the data for "Dragon Clan I: Dawn of Fire" quickly spread to Weibo, Tieba, Goose News, and other platforms.

This was a slap in the face for TMY's fans and the few remaining optimists. The unfortunate data was there. Indisputable evidence.

Almost everywhere, there were headlines proclaiming the massive flop of TMY's crossover venture!

Zhang Xuanyi quickly posted a new Weibo and became even more daring than before: "I said it long before it started. I promised early on that if TMY's so-called novel really does sell well, I'll eat my keyboard. But, I guess I had nothing to worry about..."

(A/N:)

So, this whole plotline about books is honestly boring me. I know I just came back, but ITS SOO SLOW!!

Honestly, I think I'mma try my best to speed through this section as much as possible.

Hope none of you are huge literature fans...
