Death

My name is Theo Alvaro, I had a pretty average life for the most part, nothing special had ever happened. I was 5"11, an average frame, my looks were passable. I had dark brown hair that was slightly long, it didn't reach to my neck, but it was grown out more than average. My eyes only had a slight blue tint, but were mostly dark. I had really good grades, but it wasn't anything special. At most, I would be able to go to a really good college and become a successful person in whatever career I choose to pursue. Life was boring for the most part, all I did to fill up my time was watch anime, read, and play video games. I was looking to find an adventure, something that would excite me.

I walked under my umbrella on this rainy day. The night was beginning to creep in, I had to go home so I could rank up in CS:GO. The wind suddenly grew stronger suddenly, it was almost supernatural. It was creeping me out how violent the wind was starting to get. I was slightly being pushed now, this definitely wasn't normal. I tried to grab on to something, but I was suddenly flung on to the road. I felt my rib cage crack as I exasperated from the pain. A truck came in to view and was heading straight to me. The city was misty, it would be incredibly difficult for the truck to discern a small body laying on the road right now. I could only whimper in pain as I would soon meet my end. I was crushed under the wheels of the truck as my body went limp, I was dead for sure.

After that, I could feel the sense of being levitated up into the air. A force was pulling me up, but I could not discern what it was as I had no eyes, nothing at all. But I knew whatever was pulling me wasn't material, it felt calming and divine.

I could feel my vision returning to me, I could make out my surroundings, albeit barely. I could discern that I was in a endless white space. It felt as if i was stepping on nothing, but then it came to me. I had legs and hands again, this was odd, didn't I just die?

" Hello there mortal. I assume you can already tell who I am just by looking. I will wait for you to calm your curiosity." The mysterious being said in a wise tone.

" You must be god, huh. Are you going to judge my fate, erase me, put me in the reincarnation cycle?" said Theo.

" Calm down young man, I'll answer your questions one by one. I am what you could say is a god, but I am far above that. Unlike actual gods who have to maintain universes or realms, I have no such restrictions. I rarely do any work at all, but don't tell them that." said the entity.

" So why am I here. I couldn't exactly be for no apparent reason at all?" Said Theo

" Well actually, I summoned you on a whim since I was getting bored and wanted some entertainment. I could've just created a soul, but that wouldn't have been any fun at all. I randomly picked you, which is why you died." said the being.

" Oh, I can understand that. But what exactly are you planning to do with me?"

" I wanted to cause some chaos in the realms, so I'll grant you a random ability that will help you.

If I just let you go now, you would probably die in an instant." said the being.

" So how will my random ability be decided? I presume your going to spin a wheel of some sorts and whatever it lands on will be what I have to deal with."

" Bingo! That's exactly what I'll do, you're smarter than you look kid."

" No need to praise me, I have a lot of knowledge in this area." said Theo as he nodded to himself sagely.

" Hahahaha kid, why don't we test how lucky you are then." the being said with a smirk on its face.

" Eh, alright then." Theo said with a tint of worry in his eyes. While he wasn't doomed with unluckiness, he wasn't insanely lucky either. The most lucky thing that had ever happened to him was getting 4 chickens from one egg in Minecraft.

A wheel appeared in front of him with hundreds of selections. They ranged from being meh to godly and invincible. There was no way he was getting any godly abilities from this, but he hoped it was at least decent. Theo pulled on the lever as the wheel begun to spin incredibly fast. As it slowed down, it soon landed on the ability Electromaster(mutated).

He knew this ability was from the index series, but he wanted to ask the being what the mutated label was all about.

" This power being mutated means that it will reach greater heights than anything the previous wielder could accomplish. Though, reaching that point will require your own effort and ability. The mutation is random, but it should be powerful as I had designed it to be that way." said the being.

" So I'm going to have to cultivate and work hard to improve this ability?"

" Naturally, at the beginning it might be weaker, but as time goes on it will reach further heights." said the being.

" Alright, I seem to understand."

" Well then, shall we get started with the next part." Said the being in an eager voice.

" What's next?" Theo said in confusion.

" I'll grant you a system, but it isn't anything powerful like the ones you know. It's more of an accessory at the start, but you'll unlock a shop once you're strong enough. I'll also grant you a few buffs so that you don't suffer too much. You can customize your looks to how you want it." Said the being.

" Alright, thanks." Theo looked at the new menu appearing in front of him. He had to choose how he wanted to look like. He wanted it to be clean but simple and recognizable. He went ahead and did a Gilgamesh, but had golden eyes and pure black hair. He was pretty satisfied with the overall look as he had tweaked a few minor things to fit him better.

" As a small gift, I'll give you something special. Anyways, it's time to send you off on your journey."

" Eh, where will I be going?"

" You'll find out pretty quickly when you get there." Said the being with a mischievous smile.

Theo gritted his teeth as he knew the being was up to something. He wanted to curse him out, but he felt his consciousness was fading away. It was nothing but darkness once again as Theo felt the urge to sleep.
