[Chapter 1] Mythical Clans?

[South Korea, Unknown Place]

[Night 10:28 pm]

...

The sound of the wind could be heard howling at the night sky, the moon illuminated brilliantly, displaying its full shine as it reflects flawlessly against the rippling puddles left from the previous rain fall.

Two wavering black figures could be seen dancing along the roof top of many apartments complex and buildings, chasing after their prey who sped up when nearing his destination, without a single hint of an idea, that he was being hunted.

"How long must we play cat and mouse?" One of the figures begrudgingly asked, more so complained.

"Once it leads us to his organization's headquarters. Now stop complaining, we expected this to happen the second we took on this mission." The other figure answered.

"Still, must we play the waiting game when we could easily subdue that monkey and take the information by force?"

"That monkey may not have the require information we need so it's best to get it from those up higher in the food chain."

"Fine, but you better let me dance with most of them."

"Sure, sure, I can't certainly wait to see what kind of masterpiece you make of this soon to be bloody battlefield."

"It is my at most pleasure, darling."

"C'mon, it would seem our chase is coming to an end." The older figure announced as a suspicious rundown warehouse came into view, causing both figures to come to a halt as they quietly and sneakily slip through the building's vent, following their prey, hidden carefully within the shadows like a true Shadow. (A/n: Literally a Cid Kagenou 2.0)

The mouse enters the warehouse expecting to see his boss and a couple of others but instead, he finds himself face with an entire gang of fifty-ish Awakeners dress in all black with foxlike masks hiding their identities. Scare sh*tless, he tenses his shoulders making them look broader so as he walks up, he'll look a bit overwhelming from his side. To others, he looks like a weakling that could be easily squash while the two intruders thought of him as nothing more, but a monkey.

"You're finally here Kitsune." The man in the middle said, his clothing though is all black like the rest, seems very luxurious and high class making it easy to distinguish who's the boss of these fox masks is. "Glad you could join us on this fine night." His voice low, somewhat deep as it echos throughout the walls of the building.

"Why of course, I wouldn't dream of missing it for the world." The mouse squeak out, a hint of sarcasm lace as he spoke, but was easily hidden with his deep hard tone. "Hm, that's good to know." The boss replied cheerfully, not catching on to how sarcastic Kitsune sounded. "Well, hurry and take your seat, we have much to discuss." He pointed to a seat up in front that was dangerously close to him.

Kitsune gulps down the saliva that's been lingering his throat for a good while as he took his place right next to his boss that was surrounded by 6'3 tall buff men. 'Totally not overwhelming.' Most thought as you look at the scene, showing six giant lions hovering over a tiny, frightened mouse who looks ready to wet his pants.

"Hrm, may I have everyone's attention." The boss spoke, removing the pitiful glares and attention from Kitsune and onto himself as he stood tall and proud. "Today, marks a new beginning for us! Why is that you may ask? Well, we have been at a continuous all-out war against those wolves, otherwise known as lycans. We have suffered many injustices from those damn dogs and tonight, will mark a new era for us Foxes."

Many murmurs could be heard around the crowd as some wonder what could possibly give them the advantage against those so-called wolves that they've been suffering at the hands of for the past three to four years, while some began to cheer wholeheartedly at the thought of beating their long-time rivals.

"We will no longer be at the mercy of those pesky wolves, nor we will continue to stay at the very bottom of the food chain. In fact, I am more than confident that we'll overthrow those damn lizards very soon." He spoke ever so confidently which beg the questioned for everyone, how or what would give them the advantage. I mean, they have tried many different strategies, even bribing other clans to partake in their war but still lost very badly.

Frankly, nobody in the crowd had the guts to speak up and ask their boss if he was being delusional again. Well, everyone except Kitsune because the boss seems to have a soft spot for him further proving to be the reason why none has killed him off yet for looking so feeble. "What is the advantage you're speaking of boss?" The favorite son asked in a hush whisper that would've been quite hard to hear if not for the temporarily silence filling the room as it echos very easily.

"I'm glad you'd asked Kitsune. I introduce you, these enhanced Awakener's bitcoins." He announced, holding a tiny blue coin between the tips of his index and thumb fingers. "These coins will boost our overall strengths and temporarily allow some of you to transform into a true 9 tail foxes." He voiced, temporarily putting everyone in silence as they thought of how big of an advantage they'll have against other Awakeners.

Bitcoins, just the name repeating in their heads were enough to make everyone in the room quake feverishly with excitement, all but Kitsune and the intruders listening in. After all, there were probably the only ones in the room with a functioning brain to understand that something too good can be true, but at what cost. You must pay a price in return for great power, the question is what, and that was something Kitsune was incapable of asking out loud, fret that he'll be single out by everyone including his boss for asking something odd instead of cheering along like everyone else.

"Now, I know most of you all will be wondering exactly how much this tiny coin power you up. Allow me to demonstrate." The boss spoke, removing his hood to place the coin over his pulse before lightly tapping it twice, activating the coin as it shines a bright shade of blue. His veins creaked red before turning full dark cyan, spreading and glowing throughout his body, signifying the coin in use.

He then covered his left fist with orange flames that slowly turned a dark hue of red. He releases the flames in an outward motion to the coat his entire left arm as he punched air, burning everything in its path, whether it was the ground, walls, the trees residing behind the walls. They all came crumbling down and became nothing but a speck of dusk, signifying the increase in fire power a single enhancing coin was capable of giving with only 85% of it being in use.

"What do you think?!" The boss asked evilly with excitement lace at the display. Everyone was at a loss of words at first before cheering.

"With these coins, we'll definitely beat those stinky mutts!"

"Down with the wolves and the rise of the Fox Clan!"

"Down with the wolves,"

"Rise of the Fox Clan!"

"Down with the wolves-" They began to chant, all but one who just sits there quietly, deep in thought. The intruders listening in the entire time finally whispered to one another. "Those coins, you don't think..."

"That they are the coins made from experimenting on Awakeners?"

"Right...?"

"Chances are quite high. They even look the same."

"So, what will we do?"

"We'll wait and see how this plays out. Maybe we could use the foxes going against the wolves to our advantage."

"Killing two birds with one stone, not a bad idea." They thought as they continue observing these suppose it, sneaky cunning foxes as that is what they are famously known for, but instead received hyperactive monkey's residing the warehouse currently show no sign of a single brain cell in use. All but one of course.

"You're awfully quiet down there, Kitsune." The boss finally noticed him, garnering everyone's attention. "Urme..." He stuttered nervously, feeling the stares of everyone's eyes that was previously on his boss, onto him. "What's wrong? Aren't you excited we'll finally be able to eradicate those dogs."

"Yes, it's just-" Kitsune started, but was quickly cut off by his boss's voice. "Just what?"

"Well." He began quietly but stopped. The silences in the room were deafening and all that could be heard was everyone's breathing. Having enough of the silence, the boss impatiently demanded Kitsune to answer him. "Well, what is it, Kitsune. We don't have all day." He said, but he still did not get his answer which didn't sit well when the boss's patience was running rather thin. "Spit it out already Kitsune!" He shouted.

"Well, are there any side effects of the coins?" He finally had the guts to ask. The boss froze at the question before quickly recomposing himself with another question. "Side effects? What makes you think they'll be side effects?"

"Well, it just sounds too good to be true." He replied in a 'duh' tone, like everyone with a brain might say if something sounded too good to be true. This caused murmurs to circle around the room as they express their concerns. But that was quickly shut down when the boss assures everyone calmly and confidently. "Hm, I suppose you have the right to worry, but I assure you, this coin does not cast any ill effects to the user, so no need to worry about such a trivial thing."

"But-" Kitsune tried to argue but was repressed immediately by the boss. "Enough!"

"But I-" He continued again.

"Are you testing my patience now, Kitsune?!" The boss yelled, having enough of Kitsune's disobedience of this moment. "I am not boss, but what if-" He worded, continuing to ignore the boss's warning but was again, cut off. "There is no what if Kitsune. These coins grant us strength, power, wealth, and soon fame. Everyone who has ever heard of the Fox Clan will soon cower in fear. What's so hard to understand about that?"

"It's not hard to understand sir, it's just-"

"It's just nothing Kitsune. Or must I remind you what happened to your brother Kurama." Boss spoke. At those words, Kitsune became at a loss of word but also bloodthirsty, in the next second, the room became filled with bloodlust, instilling fear to the rest of the fox crew residing inside the room, getting chills down their spines as they recalled the massacre that occurred when Kitsune's brother was pronounce dead.

The strong presence Kitsune's aura is flaring off is completely different from his original weak presence from when he first step foot into the warehouse. It has a dangerous scent of death, making anyone nauseously disgusted by the feeling of it, almost like they were getting a feel of what hell could possibly be like. Those near Kitsune tried to move away from his aura as it made them feel pathetically weak, but failed as they could not control their bodies at the moment. Stuck in place, their body temperatures went up many degrees, sweat formed on their foreheads and their throats becoming hard, lumpy and sore, making it hard to breath in.

Kitsune paid no mind to their suffering, clenching his fist so bad that it bleeds, stirred by his extreme amount of hatred and anger. It's been years since his death and nobody dared to taunt or bring up Kurama's name fret, they'll be demolished like one of their brethren that dare to do so. All but his boss of course.

Everyone in the room if not, have already caught scent of his blood as it has such a unique and potent scent where it becomes quite hard to not notice, especially when you possess enhances senses. The room once again became deafening with silence. No words were spoken, not like anyone dare to fret they'll get caught up in Kitsune's rage if they as so much as breath Kurama's name or speak at all. Eventually, Kitsune spoke in a dangerously low, dark tone that sounds almost evil. "I hear you loud and clear boss."

Everyone unconsciously shivered at his tone but the boss, as he was happy that Kitsune finally dropped the subject. He then continued on with his plans to make the Foxes number one. "Good, then we'll quickly distribute the coins before we discuss our plans against those wolves and the rest of the Great Mythical Beast Clans." He said as he gave Kitsune then his right- and left-handed man a bunch of coins to distribute among the members before pulling out a blueprint and spreading it out on a table nearby. "This is a blueprint of the wolves base. We'll attack here... here... here... then here-" (A/n: Too lazy to write but you get the point)

"We will attack them one week from now. So, train and use the coins well." The boss last announced before dismissing everyone as they went their merrily way. Once all were out of sight, the two figures jumped down landing quietly before one of them went to pick up a bitcoin that was dropped and left behind.

"So how shall we play them to make things go in our favor?" One of them finally spoke up and asked.

"Hm, we'll wait for the final battle before we intervene. That way, they all will be weakened and exhausted." The other one explained which led to her partner questioning. "But shouldn't we lessen the causalities so we can integrate them into Eminence?"

"We manipulate time remember. We should be able to reverse someone's death within 24 hours." She reminded, assuring her companion. "Hm, right. That, will mark the beginning of Eminence, right sister."

"That it will, sister." She spoke softly, before the two sisters vanished from where they were standing.
