[94] "Truth"

Two days passed quickly, and the boys' recovery was remarkable. Especially Jiwoo, who had only minor burns on his body. However, his right arm was still immobilized by the sling, and he was advised not to use it for a while.

Inhyuk enters the room and greets everyone, informing Jiwoo that the president wishes to see him.

Cautiously, Jiwoo changes out of his hospital clothes and puts the sling back on before leaving the dressing room, intending to visit the president accompanied by Inhyuk.

On their way, Jiwoo and Seongha meet Suman, another Baekdu member, and Seokchull, who boldly challenges Jiwoo despite his injury.

Surprising those present, Inhyuk clarifies that Jiwoo is injured and is not in his best physical condition.

Despite this, Jiwoo accepts the challenge of combat. He is aware that the awakened will not wait for him to be at his best, but will attack him mercilessly when he is at his weakest.

[Shinhwa combat arena]

Jiwoo positions himself in front of Seokchull, who watches him with a serious and piercing gaze.

Seokchull turns his gaze to the others present in the room and thinks to himself. 'I must demonstrate my skills to these people.'

Suman observes them and turns to Inhyuk, asking him. "Are you sure they should fight, is your boy not in the best condition?"

"Don't worry," Inhyuk replies proudly. Then he adds. "Don't you know?"

"Know what?" asks Suman.

"He defeated Sucheon in the academy," Inhyuk replies proudly.

Meanwhile, Jiyoung silently watches the confrontation, standing a little apart from them.

Suman raises his head to witness the confrontation and notices that Seokchull is already knocked out and unconscious on the ground, while Jiwoo approaches them in perfect condition.

Suman earnestly thinks to himself. 'Did this guy really beat Sucheon?'

"That's it, tidy up this mess," Jiyoung says, looking at Inhyuk and Suman. Then, he turns to Jiwoo and says. "Let's go to my office to talk."

....

[Shinhwa, Jiyoung's office]

Jiwoo, a bit nervous and with a flushed face, looks sideways at Jiyoung, sitting to his right in a different armchair.

"How's your arm?" comments Jiyoung, worried about her health.

"It's fine, it doesn't hurt as much as it used to," Jiwoo replies.

Jiyoung sighs and says. "Do you have any idea how dangerous that situation was?"

"I know," Jiwoo replies weakly, ducking his head.

"Mmm," Jiyoung mutters and adds. "This was Shinhwa's fault that they ended up in that state. If we had told them the truth, none of this would have happened."

Jiwoo is surprised and quickly replies nervously, in a warm voice. "No... no, I decided to fight him, you shouldn't take the blame alone."

"But... if you had known, you wouldn't have been in such a dangerous situation," Jiyoung comments apologetically.

"Really, I understand that you are doing your best to protect us, but we decided to face it and it's not all your fault. At least let us take some of the blame for what happened," Jiwoo says, blushing.

Jiyoung is surprised by Jiwoo's words and also blushes. He quickly coughs and changes the subject, saying. "I knew it was you who left the Klein's older brother so hurt, but you had to take a lot of damage to your body."

Jiwoo laughs innocently, scratching his head, and says. "It's a technique Ares taught me, but it seems my body can't resist it."

Jiyoung raises an eyebrow and says slowly. "If it's a technique taught by Ares, I guess it must be powerful, since he is considered a strong awakened one in our world."

"Yes, I think so. I have to improve it and adapt it to me, since he fights very rarely melee Ares, and he commented to me that he's more of a long-distance fighter," Jiwoo says weakly.

"Maybe... Your brother is known to be very versatile in combat and has a very difficult fighting style to predict and analyze," Jiyoung comments, agreeing with what Jiwoo said.

"Yes? The truth is, I don't know much about my brother. I try not to ask awkward questions, although he always answers politely when I occasionally ask him about his life," Jiwoo awkwardly comments.

Jiyoung understands and comments. "That's normal... But I'm sure if you want to know something, he'll tell you. You're family, and surprisingly, that's a strong thing for you guys."

Jiwoo looks at her doubtfully, not quite getting the point, and says. "You mean the disciples and families of the awakened ones who are crucial and only to very certain people is the control of the strongest force passed down from generation to generation?"

Jiyoung turns his head in denial and says. "That's not what I mean, and I guess you, better than anyone else, understand that they don't care about money, fame or the loyalty of other awakened ones."

Jiwoo understands and looks at his fist. "Be the strongest and do whatever one wants."

Jiyoung watches Jiwoo clench his left-hand fist and his face serious as he thinks. "His mentality has changed a lot since the first time I saw him." He then smiles and keeps his gaze fixed on Jiwoo.

The day passes quickly. Jiwoo and Jiyoung go out to buy food for them, Jisuk, Subin and Wooin, and then take them to the hospital.

Afterward, Jiyoung accompanies Jiwoo home.

....

[The next day, in Baekdu.]

At the headquarters, a powerful aura becomes present, immediately recognized by all as that of the chief.

Kang Supil coldly observes Sucheon, who trembles at the intensity of the aura, as the ground cracks under his presence.

"Tell me the truth," Supil said, showing his anger and releasing a small dose of his aura.

With trepidation, Sucheon asked. "You mean about what happened at the academy?"

"I want you to assure me that it is not true that you have sullied the name of Baekdu and that you're lost to someone who is not affiliated," Supil replied, in a cold and imposing manner.

Sucheon, gripped by nerves, did not utter a word and avoided eye contact with his father.

Supil kept his gaze cool and continued. "Answer me."

Sucheon clenched his fist and stated. "It was only because I was playing with him and didn't take him seriously. I got careless for a moment."

Without hesitation, Supil charged at Sucheon, sending him flying until he crashed into the wall, spitting blood.

"Are you telling me you let your guard down. You've let me down. How can I trust the leadership of Baekdu to someone who is inattentive at all times and so easily careless?", Supil expressed, coldly and angrily.

Sucheon, kneeling and struggling for breath, looked fearfully at his father and said with difficulty. "It won't happen again, I promise you."

"It better not, Sucheon," Supil replied angrily, releasing his aura again.

But a voice interrupted the tension, causing Supil to take a deep breath and let his guard down.

"Brother, what are you doing?" exclaimed Suman quickly as he saw Sucheon's condition and rushed to help him.

Supil looked at his younger brother without a word, then fixed his gaze on Suncheon, commenting. "Do you know what he did at the academy?"
