[37] "Rebecca v/s Baekdu"

[At the same time as Rebecca]

A woman with a suit, black hair and blue eyes stood on top of an imposing building, admiring the beautiful starry sky.

Suddenly, a man descended from the sky and stood behind her.

"Who are you, what are you doing in Baekdu territory?" the man asked firmly.

Rebecca turned and looked at the man in front of her with an arrogant smile on his face and says. "Baekdu? You shouldn't introduce yourself first... Don't you know who I am?" he replied confidently.

"I am Suman Kang, the vice president of Baekdu" he says without taking his eyes off Rebecca. 'Do I know who he is?", Suman thought to himself.

Rebecca didn't seem impressed by the man's introduction. "Suman Kang... I don't know who you are, I've never heard your name," she said dismissively.

Suman Kang frowned and replied with a grimace on his face, "You don't know me?"

The man remembered the conversation he had had with his brother and looked at Rebecca in astonishment, "Are you that girl who came with Ares?"

"Ohh... you know me, apparently this country acts fast," Rebecca replied with a mischievous smile.

Suddenly, the girl released her dark blue aura and a powerful lightning bolt fell from the sky at Suman Kang's position, destroying a small part of the top of the building. However, the man was wrapped in a protective shield that allowed him to resist the attack.

"It's a pity you ran into me...", Rebecca said with a defiant look.

Suman Kang looked seriously at the girl, remembering that he had informed Supil Kang and the other organizations of the presence of an awakened stranger in his territory. He knew he had to hold out for a couple of minutes until help arrived.

In the meantime, Rebecca disappeared and appeared to Suman Kang's right, throwing a punch at him that attempted to pierce his protective shield. "Resist?" the girl said with a devilish grin as the aura covering her right hand increased, slowly piercing through the shield from her sharp attack.

An explosion rumbled through the place and destroyed another small part of the top of the building. However, the man managed to resist the attack and remained standing.

Suddenly, a man descended from the sky and observed the woman in front of him in perfect condition. "No injuries?" he wondered.

Rebecca noticed that his right arm was numb, but he had no wounds. "Interesting, apparently I have to attack you accordingly," she said with determination.

Then, the girl raised her left arm and launched a large beam towards Suman Kang, who prepared to resist the attack. The situation was becoming more tense and dangerous by the moment.

"Shit... Did he teleport?" said Suman Kang, running to the side to dodge the falling debris around him.

"Don't get distracted. It's fatal in a fight," said a female voice behind him.

The blast boomed in their ears, sending a shockwave that shook the ground beneath them. Rebecca was thrown backwards by the blast, staggering before stopping and turning towards Suman Kang.

The latter reacted with impressive speed, moving backward with agility as he assessed the situation. When Rebecca praised him for his reaction, his expression remained focused, aware that any distraction could be fatal.

However, Suman Kang's stamina was beginning to falter. Gasping, he felt sharp pain in his stomach, knowing he couldn't keep up the fight for much longer. "Shit... Whew... Phew... at this rate I won't be able to hold on much longer," he thought in despair.

Rebecca seemed to share his opinion, and with determination in her voice, she spoke. "Let's get this over with... it's getting too long."

Suddenly, a small spiral appeared behind Suman Kang, forming an icicle of energy. The attack pierced him with a sharp pain, and before he could react, two other attacks rushed at him, cutting him down in quick succession.

Suman Kang fell to his knees, burning with pain as he held his bloody stomach. "Argh.... Argh... Space powers?" he gasped, looking at Rebecca in shock and fear.

The woman watched him with a mixture of curiosity and respect. "For someone unknown in the awakened world, you're pretty powerful," she said with a sardonic smile. "But that doesn't matter now. It was a pleasure to fight... die."

Suman Kang closed his eyes, waiting for the killing blow that would end his life.

But before Rebecca could launch her attack, an unknown presence appeared behind her, taking her by surprise.

A violent explosion shook the top of the building, cracking the concrete and throwing debris everywhere.

A figure emerged from the dust and smoke, floating through the air with feline grace as it shielded Suman Kang from the shockwave.

Suman Kang looked up and saw a tall man in front of him. "Brother," he said weakly, recognizing him immediately as his older brother, Kang Supil.

"Don't talk...you are very hurt," he said in a soft voice, immediately recognizing him as Kang Supil.

Supil Kang watched his brother with concern and restrained anger. "Causing such a big fuss in my territory... you have quite a lot of guts," he said in a harsh voice, releasing his aura with a furious gesture.

"Attacking when I'm unprepared.... How pathetic!" said Rebecca as she looked at the torn sleeves of her garment.

Supil Kang, enraged, declared. "I will make sure you die so that the world and the awakened of this country will know of my power." Raising his hand, he launched an attack forming a wake in Rebecca's direction.

Quickly, Rebecca raised an arm and formed a shield to protect herself from the impact of the attack. Then, she quickly counterattacked.

Supil Kang reacted swiftly and directed the attack in another direction. Observing Rebecca seriously, he realized that she had generated a force field that covered the entire battlefield.

Looking at the surroundings, Supil Kang said, "A force field?.... I have to put an end to that." Then, he launched his most powerful black hole technique.

Rebecca sensed something strange and quickly stepped back, dodging a small black ball with a red center that slowly began to grow, generating a powerful attraction towards her.

Amazed, Rebecca watched as she was drawn towards that sphere.

"JEJEJEJEJEJEJEJE.... 'I am Kang Supil, the president of Baekdu,' she said with an arrogant voice and a maniacal grin.

'Gravity powers. It's in my force field, I just have to seal off that area,' Rebecca thought.

Using all her strength not to be pulled in, she moved her hands and a chain-linked barrier enveloped the black hole, sealing it off.

The attraction slowed and everything returned to normal, but Rebecca clasped her hands together and the black hole disappeared from the sector, appearing right in front of Kang Supil and exploding in his face.

"What the...?" Kang Supil looked dumbfounded at his black hole in front of him that exploded. "Shit..."

A huge explosion formed, destroying the top of the building.

The dust disappeared and a man was seen with his arms bleeding and behind him, another man on the ground.

"Space powers. You won't catch me off guard again," said the man with the bleeding arms.

Many spirals appeared surrounding Kang Supil and many very sharp icicles came out of them.

Startled, Kang Supil formed a shield and a huge explosion formed.

The next moment after the dust disappeared, a man with two holes in his body stared at Rebecca.

"Interesting power, dodging so many attacks at once, I can tell you are the leader of an organization... you are much more powerful than your brother," Rebecca said.

Without responding, Kang Supil launched a dozen attacks towards Rebecca. Rebecca disappeared from the scene and appeared behind Kang Supil launching a counter attack.

Kang Supil smiled devilishly and said. "Gotcha, die." His eyes lit up and a huge explosion shot out of his body in all directions, impacting Rebecca.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA.. You sure died," he said madly.

A few feet away from him, a woman's arm was dripping blood.

"Only one wound? What a good defense," Kang Supil said.

Rebecca looked at his bleeding arm. "Good attack. I feel two auras coming fast here, I'm going to have..."

A barrier appeared around Kang Supil and slowly became smaller and smaller until it disappeared completely.

"I sent him away. It will take a while to get back here," Rebecca said.

At that moment, a woman and a man appeared in front of Suman Kang.

"Protect Suman Kang.... Inhyuk," said Jiyoung Yoo, as Inhyuk Goo took Suman Kang and checked his body.

"His injuries are very serious," Inhyuk added.

At that moment, Rebecca Brown approached and asked, "Who are you?"

"My name is Jiyoung Yoo," the Shinhwa president and Korea's number one awakened person replied calmly.

Rebecca looked surprised. "Jiyoung Yoo, the president of Shinhwa and Cores number one awakened?"

"Do you know me?" asked Jiyoung Yoo.

"Of course," Rebecca replied.

"You must be the woman who has challenged many awakened people around the world and who is supposed to have a close relationship with Ares Seo" said Jiyoung.

"Ohh... you've checked me out," Rebecca said with a smile.

"I must know that you are an awakened one who is in this country right now," said Jiyoung Yoo with a serious expression on her face. "I need to be informed about things."

Rebecca decided to change the subject. "Ares told me about you," she said. "He told me that you were an interesting awakening."

Jiyoung Yoo was surprised. "He told you about me?" he asked.

"Yes," Rebecca replied. "But back to the topic, I came here to challenge other awakened while Ares attends to some business."

"Fighting?" asked Jiyoung Yoo, visibly annoyed. "Is that why you have to cause so much trouble?".

"Well, he came at me," Rebecca defended herself casually. "I thought he wanted to fight."

Jiyoung Yoo doubted Rebecca's words, "He came towards you?" she asked.

"Yes," Rebecca replied before a sound interrupted the conversation, it was the sound of a phone.

Rebecca pulled her phone out of her pocket and looked at it in surprise. 'Resisted the phone, I wasn't expecting it,' she thought to herself before answering.

"Hello?" asked Rebecca.

"It's me," a familiar voice answered.

"Ares, what are you doing?" asked Rebecca, trying not to raise suspicion among the people around her.

Inhyuk Goo frowned when he heard the name "Ares".

Jiyoung Yoo also looked uneasy, but incredibly calm.

"What are you doing?" asked Ares again.

"I was fighting, but now I'm in front of two interesting people you told me about," Rebecca replied, while pointing at the two people in front of her. "I'll put you on speakerphone so you can talk to them."

"Ares Seo?", Jiyoung Yoo replied slowly, recognizing the name.

"Uh... Who is she?", Ares asked with disinterest.

"How could you possibly not know her when you told me she was an interesting awakening. She's Jiyoung Yoo, the president of Shinhwa," Rebecca interrupted, frustrated.

"Jiyoung Yoo, do you think I know her voice?" asked Ares indifferently.

"Miss Jiyoung, I would like to have a chat with you, but time does not permit," said Ares, ignoring Rebecca's questions.

"Chat? May I know why?" asked Jiyoung Yoo suspiciously.

"Just to have a friendly conversation," Ares replied.

Jiyoung Yoo frowned, but finally agreed. "Whenever you want to be able to talk," he said with a firm tone.

"Well, I'll visit her someday. Rebecca, let's go back right away, we have other business to attend to," Ares said, ending the conversation.

"But, are we leaving so soon? Didn't you have business to attend to?" asked Rebecca, disappointed.

"I already took care of Han Seongik. Now we have other matters to attend to," Ares said in a cold voice that left everyone silent.

Inhyuk Goo shuddered when he heard Han Seongik's name.

"Did you finish Han Seongik?" asked Rebecca in disbelief.

Jiyoung Yoo also looked worried. 'Did he come for Han Seongik?" she asked herself.

Ares hung up the call without further explanation, and an awkward silence took over.

"It's nice talking to you. We'll see you another time," Rebecca said, trying to break the ice.

"Wait...", Jiyoung Yoo managed to say, but before she could finish her words, Rebecca disappeared into a teleportation portal.

Inhyuk Goo and Jiyoung Yoo were perplexed at the spectacle.

Suddenly, a badly wounded man descended from the sky, blood on his face and body.

"Where did he go?" asked Supil Kang with anger in his voice.

"He's gone," replied Jiyoung Yoo calmly as she looked at him.

"She's gone?, damn it! As soon as I find her, I will take revenge," Supil Kang said angrily.

"You should quickly take Suman Kang to the hospital, he is badly hurt and from what I see, so are you," Inhyuk Goo suggested.

"Mmm," Supil Kang replied as he took Suman Kang's unconscious body from Inhyuk Goo.

"I don't need treatment, I... I was going to beat her if she hadn't sent me away." Without waiting for a response, Supil Kang left the scene.

Jiyoung Yoo and Inhyuk Goo watched as Kang Supil left the place and then looked at each other.

"Let's go visit Han Seongik, I want to know if he is still alive," said Jiyoung Yoo, leaving the place quickly.

Inhyuk quickly followed her.
