[03] "First encounter with an Awakened"

The snow was falling softly over the city as a boy and a woman stopped in front of a gigantic school. The image of the school was imposing, with its large brick building and bright windows. The woman addressed the boy with a sweet and maternal voice.

"My son, remember to make lots of friends and don't reveal your powers," said Yujeong.

"Yes, mother, don't worry, nobody will find out," replied Ares nodding.

"Okay, I trust you, Ares. Enjoy your first day of school," said Yujeong.

"Yes. See you later!" said Ares as he walked towards the school.

"Goodbye, take care," Yujeong bid farewell to Ares.

Ares entered a classroom full of students and a young teacher with black hair and black eyes, dressed in formal clothing. The teacher got the students' attention to introduce the new classmate.

"I would like to introduce a new classmate. He comes from another country, so please be friendly and show him around the school. Would you like to introduce yourself, Ares?" asked the teacher.

"Well, good morning everyone. My name is Ares Seo and I hope we have a good relationship," said Ares.

The female students in the room were amazed by Ares' hair color, eyes, and perfect face sculpted by the gods.

"Wow, he's so handsome," said Rebecca with bright eyes.

"He's gorgeous," said Jessica.

"What beautiful green eyes," Anne said as she looked at Ares.

"You can sit wherever you want, Ares," said the teacher.

"Okay," replied Ares, looking for an empty seat.

"Sit here, it's empty," said Anne, quickly standing up and pointing to the empty seat next to her.

Ares stared at the girl with black hair and golden eyes. "Thank you very much."

Ares sat next to Anne and the two girls in front of them turned to him, looking at him with big smiles and bright eyes.

"Hi, my name is Rebecca Brown," said Rebecca.

"Nice to meet you, mine is Jessica Gill," said Jessica.

"Mine is Anne Davis. I hope we get along well," said Anne.

"Hi, everyone. My name is Ares Seo. As I said earlier, I also hope we get along well," replied Ares.

"Tell us about yourself. Where are you from?" asked Jessica.

Ares smiled and replied, "My mother and I have traveled to many countries. We don't stay in one place for long due to her job. I come from Spain."

"Wow, I love traveling," said Anne.

"Incredible, what does your mother do for a living?" asked Jessica.

"My mother works as a scientific researcher," said Ares.

"Oh, how old are you?" asked Rebecca.

"I am 9 years old. And what about you?" asked Ares.

"We are also 9 years old," said Rebecca with a radiant smile.

Ares asked, "Have you known each other for a long time?"

"Yes," Anne replied.

"Our families do business together," explained Jessica.

"We have been together in this school all the time," added Rebecca.

Ares thought to himself, "Families doing business together, interesting."

The teacher intervened: "You four in the back, be quiet and pay attention to the class or I will separate you," he warned.

The three girls laughed and tried to contain their laughter by covering their mouths, while two of them turned around to listen to the teacher.

Ares looked out the window and thought, "Ugh, it's weird to have a conversation with little kids."

The day passed quickly and without incident. After the first class, during recess, the three girls took Ares around the academy and showed him the incredible and impressive school facilities.

When the second class ended, the teacher assigned homework and said goodbye to all the students.

Ares said goodbye, "Goodbye, see you tomorrow."

Jessica replied, "Of course! See you tomorrow."

Anne nodded, "See you tomorrow!"

Rebecca added, "Goodbye!"

Ares left the classroom before any other student and ran outside the school, where his mother was waiting for him sitting in a BMW M5.

"I can't believe it. I feel the energy of an awakened in this school. Although it's not very strong, it must be an awakened. They may not have an affiliation and be hiding here," thought Ares as he got into the car and his mother greeted him.

"Hi son, how was it?" asked Yujeong.

"Good, and you? I made friends with some kids," Ares replied.

"Oh, that's great. What are their names?" Yujeong asked, smiling.

"Rebecca, Jessica, and Anne," Ares replied.

Yujeong laughed. "HAHAHAHAHA, my son is already making a little girl fall in love with him."

Ares blushed. "Don't be silly, I'm much older than them."

"HAHAHAHA, look at my son trying to seem grown-up, but he's still a cute little baby," Yujeong replied with a big smile.

"mmm...I'm not going to say anything else. Let's go home, I'm tired," Ares said without paying any more attention to his mother.

"Okay, you don't have to be embarrassed HAHAHAHA," Yujeong said.

Ares didn't answer and looked towards the school as the car accelerated and drove away. 'An Awakened, and I thought I would have a peaceful school life... Could he be the principal?' Ares wondered, remembering the energy he had felt behind the principal's door while exploring the school.
