46: Lessons Continue

It was a bright day, but Shinji stayed inside the mansion. He was sitting inside a certain room, holding a German Shepherd.

'I managed to prevent any heart attacks whenever I used animals bigger than a Boston Terrier dog, but the Energy Sphere always seemed to dissipate. So far, Thaddeus, this German Shepherd, is the closest animal I got to Awaken. And yes, I did name it, because if I manage to Awaken him, there is no way in hell I'd give him away nor kill him. But due to the bond I've made with him, Scotus is a bit jealous of him, though.' thought the teenager as the dog licked his face.

'Makes me flattered... But, anyway, let's not waste any more time.'

"Get ready, bud'!" he alerted the dog, which got him a loud bark.

Shinji closed his eyes and started injecting small amounts of Pure Energy, gradually.

A full minute passed and he opened his eyes, 'Compress it!'

As the energy gathered into a sphere, Thaddeus' heart started beating faster and faster. The dog howled in discomfort, and Shinji immediately controlled the dog's blood, so as to not have a heart attack, while also compressing the energy.

A surge of energy occurred, panning all over the room. The dog gave one last bellow, before going completely silent.

"What happened?!"

'The Energy Sphere creation was a success, and there were also no Heart Attacks! So, why is Thaddeus not moving?!' thought the teenager, standing up in worry.

| I apologize for worrying you, Master. | said a voice... from inside Shinji's mind.

"Eh?"

After composing himself, the teen looked at the black dog who was sitting elegantly.

"Are you alright, Thaddeus?"

| Indeed, Master Shinji. | said the dog without opening its mouth.

'Okay, what the fuck? I thought he would gain something similar to my Ability since it's my Energy and all, but how the hell did he get Telepathy?!... Wait... Is it because I only used pure energy?...' Shinji pondered.

| That is an interesting hypothesis, Master. |

'You can read my mind, Thaddeus?!' he shouted inwardly.

| It seems so. |

"Okay, I need a breather... You can... go play outside, Thaddeus."

| Very well, if that is what you want, Master. | Thaddeus communicated, then left the room.

'Okay, that was fucking shocking. Him being able to use Telepathy, and him also acting like an obedient servant... or butler... Anyway, this means that Scy would also get a Random Ability. Hmm, this would explain how that grey cat was able to enlarge and strengthen itself, and not use something similar to the Doctor's Ability...'

"Hoh... Let me just rest for a sec... But, after this, it's time for Scy's turn. I really hope he gets something good..."

A few days have passed, and we could see a raven-haired teenager with his hands held out, and a beautiful woman coaching him.

Cold energy gradually permeated the room. Shinji maintained it for a couple of minutes before releasing it, panting on the ground.

"That was it, right?" the teen said between heavy breaths.

'I can't believe he managed to learn it this quickly. It would normally take a few months...' Jiyoung thought.

"Yes... However, I think you'd want to be faster on casting it," she said bluntly, but her face showed a mix of proudness and a little bit of shock.

"But still, I think I should get a reward for being able to learn it this fast, right?" Shinji asked in a playful tone.

She seemed to think about it and after a while...

"As your teacher, I think it's only fair that you receive a reward..."

Shinji jolted up, and said with a grin, "Really?! No take-backs~."

"I think I'm regretting it already..." she said silently.

When Shinji was changing into a sweat-free shirt, he asked Jiyoung, "Ah! By the way, what are your plans for that Jiwoo kid? Are you going to send him to the Korean Awakened Academy through your Special Admission?"

"What made you come to that conclusion?" she asked.

"Well, from what I've heard, he's got potential. Plus, Shinhwa's weirdly paying close attention to him. Either it's because he's Jisuk's friend, or you want to take him in." he replied.

"Hm, well, you're correct on my decision on sending him to the Academy. As I said before, they will represent Korea in the future, and it's important for them to interact with their peers..."

Leaving the facility...

Jiyoung stopped and asked Shinji with a weird face, "Are you sure that as your reward, you want me to go to the Cinema with you?"

"Yep! Why? Is there something wrong with wanting to watch movies with a gorgeous woman?" Shinji responded with an innocent face.

"But, there are many things you could get that are better than just going to the Cinema..." she said with a confused face.

Shinji gave her a charming smile, and replied, "For me, there is nothing better than spending time with you, Jiyoung."

He then went out of the facility, leaving a silent Jiyoung... Once the door closed, he hid behind a corner and covered his mouth.

'Holy shit. That... That wasn't too much was it?' he thought, slowly flushing when remembering what he said.

But, he calmed himself and kept walking, scratching the back of his head.

'Ahhh, that was too cheesy for me...'

Inside the facility...

Jiyoung was left standing there, silent. However, her cheeks slowly turned into a rosy shade of pink.
