chapter one

(hey guys, my name is Berlin and am 17years old . I came from a family of three, my dad,my mum and I my mum (Merlin)was a popular journalist while my dad(William) was a successful doctor and yes we were wealthy.

I was eight years old when we moved to a new town in Canada. before I turned eighteen I realized that life isn't a bed of roses after all. and this is my story)

thinking about how my 18th birthday will be, while I was going to submit our biology assignment to Mr luke (our biology teacher). after all almost everyone has been talking about how awesome their 18th birthday was,I was still thinking when Lily taped me and said hey are you not coming for English lesson?

oh,is Mrs Emma in class? I asked

yes she is in class let's go she replied. oh let me submit these notes first.

going to the class with Lily I saw a guy in my seat and I asked Lily who was that?

oh I forgot to Tell you that's the new student , isn't he cute? she giggled

enter the class you two Mrs Emma instructed.yes ma we answered and quickly entered the class.

so I immediately went to my seat and sat down ,OMG this guy is so cute, I said in my mind . should I talk to him? no don't, I kept on contemplating ,I was kind of a shy person ,then I finally gathered the courage to say hi and guess what he looked at me and smerked and looked away. can you believe that I should have never said hi such a rude punk. I hissed and turned to listen to Mrs Emma explanation about the topic "debate"when suddenly the bell rang .

I was about to go out when suddenly Lily ran to me and said Anderson and Diva are quarrelling. again ?I asked ,yeah again the "DIDERSON" and their relationship problems she said in a mocking tone. I laughed so hard when I discovered that "DIDERSON" was Anderson and Diva name joined together, I continued laughing so hard and loud that I didn't notice that everyone's eyes were on me .

hey, why the hell are you laughing diva asked angrily. me? I replied, yes you she fired back and what does Berlin's laugh got to do with you Lily also fired backed at her. let's just go I said trying to drag Lily out of the class when diva held my hand and pulled me back, am still talking,let me go let me go I tried removing my hand from divas grip and pulled Lily but she resisted . Lily pulled my hands away from her's and turned to diva and said no if someone does not put this so called "diva" in her place she will still be feeling like a queen . Lily barked

I've never seen Lily this angry, oh I understand now back then when we were in grade eight she and diva were good friends but when when we entered grade nine they had a bad conflict all because of a boy named "Anderson" then in grade seven Lily and Anderson were in a relationship they were so cute together but they broke up because Lily later found out that Anderson has been cheating on her with her good friend "Diva" lily was shocked, angry that she confronted diva and that's was when all this malice started (back to reality)

Diva was already raising her hands to slap Lily when Anderson held her hand and shouted stop it already.

I felt some kind of happiness in my heart , I don't know why but I think is because of what Anderson did.

Diva was devastated like why would he stop her from slapping Lily, does he still like her? we all could see this unanswered questions all-over her face.

stop it I said must you girls always fight for silly reasons he said. and who gave you a say in this issue Lily asked as she angrily left the class while leaving eyes following her ,till he could no longer see her .

Diva angrily pulled her hand from his grip and said "you just let her go like that did you see the way she talked to me? and you just let her go" seeing that he was not answering her she looked up and saw he was still looking at where Lily was standing when the argument was going on. Anderson! she yelled hope is not what am thinking and left the class with anger written all-over her face (Diva and Anderson are like opened books they can't hide their emotions unlike Lily who is good at it)

I better get going before lunch breaak will be over , I looked at my watch and it was 10:30am OMG so the argument took 30minutes and lunch break ends 11:30.

I ran out of the class to get something to eat and to also find Lily.

while going to the refreshment store,I bumbed into Mark (the new "rude"student who is my seatmate)and his smoothie spilled all over him and spilled a little on me but mostly on him.

am sorry I said, he looked up at me and I noticed he did take the spilled smoothie lightly.i apologized again , am very sorry I didn't see you coming. no problem he said, uh? serious I asked, yeah no problem it was only a mistake he said.oh thanks for understanding while I was bending to pick up the tray he also bent to pick it and our hands touched, OMG he hands were soft I removed my hands from the tray and stood up. he picked the tray up while he was standing up he looked directly to my eyes then I noticed how his eyes were different his eyeballs were somehow gold? I felt my heart melting .

Berlin he called me, uh I answered that's your name right? he asked yes Berlin that's my name ( why did I say yet Berlin that's my name I should have just said yes) oh my he said as he pulled out his handkey from his pocket drew very close to my nose, my heart was racing am sure he could hear the way my heart was beating. he pulled back smiled at me and said you had some smoothie on your face . I didn't feel embarrassed but for some reason I felt happy. he left and then I remembered that I had to go look for Lily and get something to eat .

about going downstairs to the refreshment store I saw Lily in the pavelon i hurriedly went to meet her and sat beside her closely

hey Lily flower (that's the name I liked calling her) hey she replied with a down voice. what's really going on Lily I think there's something you need to tell me I curiously asked her, like what? she asked, like about Anderson... pls don't call that name anywhere close to me she interrupted me , I pulled her head to my shoulders and patted her back saying sorry I won't mention Anderson name again, oh my bad I just mentioned the name again why do I keep mentioning the name Anderson . I started laughing you think am joking she picked up a stone from the ground and started pursuing me round the pavelon (good days) the bell for lunch break over rang

oh no I didn't even get anything to eat all because of you and Anderson . that's your punishment for mentioning his name she said whose name is it Anderson? come here she said running after me ,she kinda a fast runner, she caught me and pulled my ear all the way to the class.

we entered the class and Lily went straight to her seat while I went to mine just then mark came to the seat and sat down.

he turned to me when my stomach rumbled out of hunger I was so ashamed. you haven't eaten right? he asked, yes I have eaten I lied

I bent my head in shame (I shouldn't have lied )I was interrupted from my thoughts when I saw him drawing closer to me, I looked up and then, our shoulders met our legs were touching each other , I looked staright to his eyes and then...
