Having spent the majority of my school life with these kids, thinking that we could do and achieve whatever we want - as long as we have each other, the scene in front of me was not one that I expected to see this early in life.

Death.

It's something that a person can never be prepared for. Specially if it's somebody close to their heart. Even if the person had been old or sick for long, and it was known that there was no way out of it, you can never prepare yourself well for going on in your life without them by your side.

In my case, the person wasn't sick and wasn't old either.

Having had her 22nd birthday just a few weeks ago, she was always full of life. True, she had lots of concerns and ups and downs too, just like any other human being. And then there was college life as well, which put her under a bit of pressure. But enjoying life in the most amazing ways, while keeping the balance with other realms of her life too, was something you could learn best from her.

From bringing me out of the pretentious "cool kid" dumb façade that I had on, to helping me find myself, she was a huge part of my life. Of all of our lives.

But I guess we never can predict what life may throw at us.
