Chapter 1: Phenomenon

It was a normal day in the center of Oblivion City. People could be seen leisurely walking across the streets, children were happily running and playing around, it was a scene where everyone has a smile on their faces.

Until an incident happened that completely changed the whole city, if not the whole world.

At first, it was only a mysterious dark fog that suddenly spread throughout the forest, people where only afraid of it at first but that's it, they all thought that it just some kind of smoke so they ignored it. But when night time came, all it took was a few minutes.

Cracks suddenly emerged from the ground creating a shockwave.

Thick black fog suddenly spread out through the whole city like an endless abyss.

Cries of fear and terror could be heard from every corner of the the streets.

Everyone was completely panic of the sudden change in the city, some have already gotten an accident, others were completely terrified, while the rest was crying and tearing up.

Cries of help emerged from every corner of the city. Authorities were completely swamped by the phenomenon, they were also caught off-guard at first but quickly made a move to calm the situation.

As everyone was overwhelmed with panic, nobody even noticed that some fog have already formed a shadow of silhouettes.

They were completely indescribable as they were surrounded by thick black fog, but few people began to noticed the change in the surrounding.

The eerie silence.

It was this silence that made their hearts pound quickly, their fear towards the phenomenon rise to a certain degree

Some couldn't even contain their fear so they did what a terrified person would do, scream.

Not surprisingly, there was a sudden loud cry echoed in the air.

But it was as if the noise was the trigger, the mysterious silhouettes faded.

Yes, they disappeared.

Not only the fog and unknown silhouettes, every people in town had mysteriously vanished.

It was as if the town was a desolated city, but if one would look closely, they would realize that something was wrong.

The city has a strong metallic scent in the air, every streets has a trace of red liquid on the ground.

Blood.

And in that moment. A small bird like machine was currently floating in the air, seemingly watching the whole mysterious scene.

Not far from the center of Oblivion city, a desolated looking factory could be seen wrecked by the phenomenon, debris and dust could be seen everywhere. But in the floor, a silver door could be seen in the open space.

This door leads to an underground basement, which looks more like a laboratory than an actual basement.

There was a group of people in white coats, they were clearly discussing an important matter as everyone have a solemn expression on their faces.

Not far from the gathered people, a room with transparent glass could be seen in the center of the lab. The eye catching thing about this glass is that it's 4 square meters wide, and a person could be seen lying on a silver bed.

His exquisite features could be described in one word, breathtaking.

Short white hair, pale white skin, thin red lips, and a delicate feature that rivaled most celebrities.

It was a sight that could be considered as captivating, well it would've be if it wasn't for the fact that he was injected with multiple tubes.

Suddenly the person's finger lying on the bed twitch for a moment, it was just a little motion so nobody noticed. But that was not the case for their device, a beep sound echoed in the room, surprising the gathered people in white coats.

"He's awake? Quick! check on his pulse and open the electronic device, this is a miracle!" Everyone quickly move to do their part.

At this moment the man lying on the bed slowly opened his eyes, revealing a piercing amethyst eyes which was both rare and beautiful, except that his eyes had no trace of motion.

At first he was only able to see blurred images, but slowly it began to clear. The first he thing he saw was a blinding light that made him close his eyes immediately.

Multiple blurred images suddenly showed up in his head, the sudden assault cause him to clutch his head in pain. It's like a hundred needles pierced through his brain.

"Dr. Grey, his brain's wave frequency is constantly rising. I'm afraid that something is wrong wi-" The words of the examiner was stopped by a man with a silver badge hanging on his white coat.

He was probably the one called Dr. Grey who has a higher position and seniority among them.

"Hold it, let me" Not surprising, everyone made way. After all he was their superior, but that's not the only reason why they were respectful towards him.

Dr. Grey walks towards the man lying in the bed, his face filled with pride that had a trace of arrogance. After taking a deep breath, he slowly raise his hands and perform a strange gesture.

''hands of revelation.'' In the eyes of any person, he would definitely be a laughing stock, but none of them dare to even make a sound.

It's because a blueish glow appeared on Dr. Grey's hands, everyone watch in amazement as the glow slowly advance towards the man lying on the bed.

A human capable of using a strange light as some kind of magic, a phenomenon that occurs only in people's imagination and TV shows.

And all of this was watched by Felice, the man lying on the bed.

Yes, he was still conscious all this time, he was deciphering those blurred images that keep flowing into his head. The conclusion he got base on how his body reacts is that, those things that kept playing on his mind was his memories.

Felice Raven is his name, he was kidnapped when he was only 12 years old. Brought to this mysterious organization where human experiments exist, he was completely defenseless. He felt a faint source of hatred and fear within him as he think about this group of people.

Yet, he can't seem to remember being experimented. He pushed aside those thoughts as he remember being in a difficult situation right now, he was tied in the bed with multiple tube inserted on his body.

"You... Why can't i read your mind?" Dr. Grey asked in disbelief.

This is the first time he encounter this scenario, as an awakened himself. His abilities let him reveal any information on a person's mind, even reading memories was a peace of cake to him.

"Who are you?!" The sudden outburst shocked not only Felice, even the group of people was surprised. They remember Dr. Grey as a calm and patient person, that's the reason why his experiments and discoveries where always successful.

"This doesn't make sense! How can my ability didn't work on you?!" This outcome isn't the one they expected to be, after all those mysterious lights are a proof of being a person with an ability, an awakened.

Because of the sudden failure of his ability, Dr. Grey isn't in the right mind right now. Perhaps to him, his ability is the one he was most proudly of, it is the source of his confidence. As an awakened he treated it as a blessing, a superior to any person who isn't an awakened, he subconsciously put faith on his power to solve everything that he can't solved.

And right now, his power seemed to be not working on Felice, which greatly angered him to the core.

When Felice saw the distorted face on Dr. Grey, he already knew that he was in danger. Remembering a part of his memory where a mad scientist failed to solve a certain problem, that scientist made his experiments explode all together creating a room filled with crimson red.

Dr. Grey was about to make a move when an alarm suddenly redounded in the whole laboratory.

"Oh no! D-Dr. Grey, it's happening again! Our drone caught a glimpse of a massive dark fog, even multiple earthquakes could be seen in the center of the city." One of the man in the group said. He was clearly the one responsible for monitoring the surrounding, he showed everyone the tablet he was holding.

Everyone saw a dark fog surrounding the city, it's was pitch black almost look like black hole, even the sun was blocked by this mysterious fog. But in the next moments, the sight made their hearts Skipped a beat.

They saw the ground being open by a strange massive creature, red raging eyes that filled with extreme savageness, it's body that filled with black scales that blends in the darkness.

Everyone was completely horrified, even Felice himself had his heart skipped a beat, the terror in it's eyes isn't someone they can afford to look at.

As if the creature was unstoppable, it destroyed multiple buildings and streets along it's way, even the earth crumble itself by the force of the massive creature.

But in the next moment it stopped.

The creature just stood their quietly, and as if the dark fog was within it's control, the fog circulates around the massive creature creating a world of darkness.

It was a scene which both amaze and terrified the group of scientist, even Dr. Grey was watching intently. But in the next moment, everyone heard a sound that made their ear sting.

It was a sound that resounded throughout the city, it was deep, terrifying. As if a demonic creature talking in an ancient language, mysterious yet frightening.

Suddenly the creatures red raging eyes looks into a direction, surprisingly that direction was the place where the drone was hiding.

And this made everyone panic in fear.

"QUICK! Turn off the drone!" But it was too late, the tablet's screen turned black, it was probably the drone got destroyed.

Everyone was in complete silence, all of them had their back filed with cold sweat, even their hearts seems to have run in a marathon at how fast they beat.

Dr. Grey was in dilemma, though the massive creature only discovered the drone, the uneasy feeling that something bad is going to happen greatly brought him anxiety.

"Dr. Grey, Our subject is gone!" A sudden voice broke the quiet atmosphere.

Everyone quickly look at the silver bed, the man who was supposed to be tied and lying in there was now gone.

Dr. Grey quickly made way to the bed, he saw the security lock was now turned off, even the tubes where unplug.

"He didn't disappear, he escape! Quickly check the surveillance camera and track him down."

Not far from the laboratory, a shadow of a human silhouette could be seen running in the corridor. His white hair could be seen flowing up and down as his amethyst eyes flash in a cold intelligent gaze.
