New Equipment

The head of the smithy guided me inside, and the players outside were all complaining. She didn't bother with them, and when we finally reached her workplace, she made me sit down on a stool and left.

"It's hot in here."

The forge was lit up, and the temperature in the room was high. There were dozens of finished swords and armors laying about, and when I checked their names.

[Failure #1]

[Failure #18]

[Trash #69]

They were all named either [trash] or [failure] but the amount she produces them was astonishing. What's even more astonishing is the size of this room alone. I stood up and picked up the closest sword to me.

[Failure #89] (Uncommon)

Durability: 10,000/10,000

Damage: 2,000-3,000

A mass-produced weapon made by the blacksmith Rosaria. It's a well-made weapon. Its balance and weight are perfect for speed-oriented martial artists, but it seems no one can wield this weapon.

Condition of Use: Level 250, Agility 500

***

It's a terrible weapon for its level of usage. It only meant one thing: if the weapon is like this, Rosaria is the cursed smith, from what I've heard in the community forums, is that there was a smith that challenged a <god> to competition but lost against the <god>, the penalty she faced was all the things she forges cannot be wielded by the <chosens>.

"So, the one who got cursed was Rosaria?"

I looked around and saw most of the armor, weapons, and even the ammunition for crossbows, and arrows are the same, no one can wield it in <Eden> and even if they could, they would've already found an item that's better than these.

"Hey, who told ya to look around?"

I looked back, and Rosaria threw some equipment at me.

These effects are the standard effects for swordsman classes when they get equipment from their respective academies, although since Rosaria made this, the effects are a little better from the other academies.

"Boss! We need your help. Someone brought in a (Rare) bicorn horn!"

"Oh, don't touch that horn, ya brats!"

Rosaria went out of the workshop, and I equipped the gear she had brought me. A leather tunic with the Alcor Swordsmanship Academy emblem on the left side of the chest, a dark green cloak with a larger version of the academy emblem on the back, while the greaves and bracers are just normal leather greaves and bracers.

I went outside of Rosaria's workshop and saw her refining the bicorn's horn together with her apprentices, and when I went outside, it shocked everyone to see the emblem on my equipment.

"What? It's been a long time since there was an 'Alcorian Disciple Swordsman'!"

"I thought no one attends that shabby academy?"

"This is surprising."

"So, the one who beat that 'Berserker' was an 'Alcorian Disciple Swordsman'?"

I ignored all of them and just wore the hood of my cloak to hide my face from the crowd, another reason the 'Alcorian Disciple Swordsman' class fell off, is because it's a class with only 3 skills and has no ultimate skills, unlike other swordsman classes which are on average 5-6 skills and have 1 ultimate skill.

As I was walking towards the southern gate, a guard greeted me with a smile on his face, and it surprised him I was still in Alcor. He probably thought I would've left after a few days of staying here.

"Ah, it's you again. Are you here to subjugate the ogre?"

He looked around me, expecting there a party to be with me, but there was none.

"Alone...?"

I nodded and went past him. He couldn't process what happened until he shouted at me from far behind.

"Wait! You need a party to kill an ogre!"

I just raised my hand in the air to wave goodbye to him, and he sighed knowing <chosens> can return from death, but abusing one's life doesn't suit the guard's taste, so he left his position and followed me from far away.

***

A boar charged at me, but I evaded it with ease and slashed it on the back, cutting it in half. I gathered the meat from its body and left its carcass there, and I left that spot. Behind me were corpses of boars, and wolves, and from time to time, a bear would appear.

"W-wait... up... <chosen>... aren't you tired? Agh, I need a break."

The guard who followed me from the gate has been watching me hunt the monsters around the field, and just an hour ago, he let his presence known.

"Sure, we'll take a break."

I sat down on the ground and made a campfire, then I skewered the boar's meat on sticks and roasted it on top of the fire. The guard sat next to me, and he wiped the drool off his lips and asked.

"Can I have some?"

"Here, this is yours."

I gave him a stick of cooked boar meat, and he took a big bite. We ate there in silence for a little, then I stood up, and started stretching.

"Man, you <chosens> have a lot of stamina."

"Heh, you could say that again."

"But, just because you have a lot of stamina, and lives, doesn't mean you should waste them."

Hmm, what's this? An NPC lecturing me? But this is the terror of the NPC unlike us players NPCs cannot revive from the dead, and they need to be careful or else they would waste their one life, so for them, we <chosens> who abuse the revive system are not humans.

"I know. That's why I'll have to kill the ogre in one life."

"Hmm, I wish other <chosens> are that confident."

The guard stood up and grabbed his spear.

"Since you don't have a party, I'll just have to fill in the blank."

"Alright, but don't die."

"Heh, you too, bud."

The guard kicked some dirt into the fire, and he put it out. The two of us went deeper into the forest and killed some monsters along the way. There was one thing that I learned though: NPCs can grow stronger by hunting monsters as well.

The guard was proficient with the spear, and could easily take down a bear by himself. His strength and speed are no joke as well. I could say that he's at least between level 10-15. It won't be enough to face the ogre, but he should be able to provide support.

"You know how to chuck some spears?"

"Yeah, wait, is that your plan when going against the ogre? I'll throw some spears and you'll take the frontline?"

"Yes."

I gave him some [Sharpened] wooden spears infused with mana so that it could pierce through ogre hide.

"Eh, alright, but what if it goes towards me?"

"Don't worry, I'll make sure it doesn't. and if it does, just run in circles or something."

"Wait, that doesn't sound like a good plan."

I just ignored him and continued walking towards the southern hills.

"Wait! Listen to me!"
