Chapter 106 - Muertojos

Evolution has become something widely accepted by humanity. All sorts of things can come to evolve, and that is no different within humans. Everything humans have now is the result of endless years of evolution. But what would happen if parts of humans evolved much more than any other? One result of this would be the beauty of the Muertojos' eyes. The Muertojos family is a family of trained assassins and mercenaries, dating back millennia. Due to sight being one of the most important aspects of the human body, the Muertojos family carefully bred themselves to evolve their eyes further than any other human. Their eyes give them a world of superhuman abilities that no other could replicate. One: Their eyes will never fall victim to visual illusions and tricks. Two: They can sense deeper and further than just the skin, allowing them to see "Points". Three: It makes them the greatest targets of collectors.

The family has drastically dwindled in recent years, leaving Gonzalez Muertojos as one of the few heirs to these mythical eyes.

Everyone was left speechless, noticing that the air around the match had changed. Gonzalez, who was riddled with blood and thrown heavily into the ground, remained stoic as he stared down a demon in human form. Gary's expression still remained the same as ever, but Indica had noticed something minor. Something so minor, no one other than Gonzalez, Gary, and Indica could notice.

Indica: Gary's breathing is a bit off. Gonzalez disrupted his breathing with those rapid strikes, but while they didn't land, they forced Gary to bend his neck so far, so quickly! Gonzalez is playing a game I'm despising!

Gary closed his eyes once more, taking in a deep breath through his nose before letting it out through his mouth. Gonzalez took a few steps forward before coming to a stop. His eyes were glued to Gary, watching every little action he did. Gary noticed this as well, returning to his upright position before taking his own steps forward. In less than the blink of an eye, Gary's arm shot out, Gonzalez's eyes watching as every joint in Gary's left arm turned quicker than any human could possibly attempt. Gonzalez quickly sidestepped the strike, tensing his index and middle finger before striking Gary's arm then jumping back. Gary pulled back his arm, but immediately felt something was wrong. Looking down at his arm, he noticed his wrist was still twisted as well as the third joints of his ring and middle finger.

Gary: Oho? What could have happened here?

With a small amount of force, Gary's hand snapped back into place, but something now sat at the back of his mind. He glanced over to Gonzalez, who was walking around the outer edge of the large spiral in the ring.

Gary's thought: Is this corpse growing weary of me? And those magic touches prevented me from returning my joints back to normal immediately.

Gary: Dear Gonzalez, whatever did you do to me?

Gonzalez: Shut up.

Gonzalez shot towards Gary, the index and middle fingers of both hands tensing as he ran. Gary shot both of his hands outward, every part of his arm twisting and stretching. Gonzalez quickly struck both of the arms before standing right before Gary. Gary noticed once again that his elbows refused to bend in any direction. Several punches rained upon Gary's body, sending him flying back. The sudden force snapped Gary's elbows back into place, forcing them to slingshot back and send the man even further. His limp body struck against the ring wall with a light thud. Gonzalez let out a sigh, refusing to take his eyes off of Gary.

Carrie: What was that?! He was like "bam bam bam" and took that freak out. He wasn't even doing that a moment ago!

Theodore: It's simple. Gonzalez is targeting Gary's "Points."

Carrie: Points?

Theodore: Points are part of the two-part system Gonzalez has in his fighting style. The moment he takes off his blindfold, this style is truly at its best. Points, to put it simply, are the best places to strike a person. Vital areas, joints, nerves, vessels. His eyes allow him to see all these Points within a person. No matter how odd their anatomy, he will always know where to strike. And from what I can tell, each of those punches were done with the purpose of killing Gary.

Carrie: You're going to let him kill Gary?!

Theodore: As much as I would like to avoid it, this match is truly a life-or-death situation. Gary has left Gonzalez with no other choice.

Carrie: Oh no…

Gonzalez gritted his teeth as he saw Gary's body convulse before his legs bent backwards, lifting the rest of his body upward. Gary dabbed his fingers on his lower lip, bringing it into his line of sight to see the blood that coated them.

Gary: You tried to kill me, dear Gonzalez?

Theodore and Carrie looked at the monitor with wide eyes, shock filling their bodies. Every fighter that was aware of what Gonzalez did was left speechless.

Gonzalez: You shifted your vitals that much? That's inhuman.

Gary: That's only the beginning of it.

Gary slammed his hand into the ring wall before dragging it through, his arm getting wider and wider as a crevice was left in the wall. He yanked his arm out, sending a large amount of debris flying at Gonzalez. Gonzalez quickly knocked each flying piece of concrete away, noticing Gary stretch his legs far to move quickly around the ring. His movements were like a puppet on a string, entirely unnatural. Nothing about Gary could be classified as human. Gary shot out his right arm, his sights directed at Gonzalez's head. Gonzalez ducked out of the way and struck underneath the arm. A sharp pain filled Gonzalez's side. He looked down, noticing Gary's left arm had stabbed him.

Gary: I'll tear you apart. This is where we part ways, dear Gon-

Gonzalez: That won't work on me.

Gonzalez wrapped his hand around Gary's arm, Gary feeling his death grip. Gonzalez then grabbed further onto Gary's arm with his left, and with all his might, he pulled Gary's arm into the air. Gary was left meters in the air, looking down at Gonzalez. The beautiful glow of his eyes were unlike anything Gary had ever seen.

Gary: You will truly be the most beautiful victim I've ever had.

Gary's right arm shot into the air once more before striking down at Gonzalez. Gonzalez gritted his teeth before turning under Gary's arm. He could feel Gary's stretched out fingers twist in the stab wound, but he refused to let that stop him. Moving just barely out of the way of the strike, another spiral formed under Gonzalez, but his conviction refused to release Gary's arm. With all his strength, Gonzalez pulled down on Gary's arm, slamming the serial killer on his head on the ground floor. Gary's arm flew out of Gonzalez's stab wound, blood following it. Gonzalez stumbled back, falling to one knee as he watched blood ooze from around Gary's head.

Zenzo: D… Did he do it?

Zachary: Has Gonzalez finally beaten the mad killer? Has The Man of Nightmares been put to rest?

Gonzalez: Sadly… not.

Gary placed both hands at the side of his head, flat on the ground. He pushed himself up, his smile unshaken. His right eye was entirely bloodshot, likely from the blood that coated his face. Gary stood back up, sending shivers down everyone's back.

Man's thoughts: Can he even be killed?

Woman's thoughts: Is there no hope?

Despair filled the ring, Gonzalez and Gary at the epicenter of it. Gary's body twitched with joy, his body at its peak excitement.

Gary: Yes. Shower me with your fear. With your despair. I wish for everyone to know this feeling well, as that's all the world will feel.

Gonzalez held tightly to his side, blood rushing out of him.

Gonzalez's thoughts: I need to end this match soon because If I don't, I'll end up risking death, so many innocents will die…

Gonzalez stood back up, tensing up his spear hands. Gary turned to face Gonzalez with open arms. He didn't address him, wishing to tell him everything with his face alone. The blood covering his face was all Gonzalez needed to see. His heart burned as he knew what he had to do.

Gonzalez: I'll kill you.

Gary's feet rotated at angles further than any human can achieve. He sprung forward like a grasshopper, throwing an arching attack that Gonzalez quickly dodged. Gary turned to face Gonzalez before taking a quick strike to the face. Gary flew back before stopping at his feet. Gary's head shook violently. Indica watched the match closely before pulling out his phone.

Indica: This poor beast. Where did he go wrong? Something happened to him that made him the ultimate weapon, but even now, I'll never truly understand.
