Summoning.

The practice of summoning was born because every 'being' has desires, born with a conscious mind, beings will eventually begin to develop 'feelings' or 'cravings' which then grow strong, compelling them to seek or pursue something they perceive as lacking in their lives.

Not just humans, be it demons, angels, etc... Every being has desires. Desires can encompass a wide range of aspirations, such as the demon's desire and hunger for souls, the angels fateful desires, and the more complex desires of humans.

Thus the birth of summoning. Not just demon summoning, there also exists the summoning of angels and much more creatures... But, let's not talk about that now.

Specifically, individuals who carry out 'demon summoning' are not particularly on the good side. People with pure righteous hearts would never seek help from what they call 'vile demons'; instead, they would turn to the summoning of angels or something else.

Only those with devious hearts and a natural inclination towards evil would willingly surrender their souls to demons. While there may be rare exceptions, the man before him, known as 'Colonel,' undeniably belonged to the former category.

From a human perspective, such individuals may be deemed unfavorable. However, they served as a vital necessity for demons, unless they possessed some exceptional quality that would enable them to traverse other realms unimpeded by the repulsive forces at play.

Although Colonel had the ability to perceive the demon contract, he found himself utterly incapable of deciphering its contents. After all, the contract had materialized through the potent energy emanating from the Gate of the Abyss, inherently skewed in favor of demons, as indicated by its unmistakable inclusion of the term 'demon'.

The Colonel could only peer at the contract with a bewildered expression, finding himself completely at a loss to grasp its contents.

Az, with a sharp gesture, extended his finger towards an empty space on the contract, indicating Colonel to affix his signature. He, on the other hand, had no need to sign as his name was already inscribed upon the document—not his full demon name, but merely the initial part of his true name 'Azazel'.

As Colonel signed the contract, it erupted into a blaze of flames, swiftly disintegrating into thin air. In that moment, Az keenly perceived the repulsive force fading away, granting him a profound sense of liberation and newfound freedom.

The specifics of the contract were precisely as they had agreed upon earlier: Colonel was obligated to provide Az with 500 souls, while faithfully serving him. In return, Az would bestow upon Colonel the enigmatic "something" he had vaguely alluded to—a gift that could assume any form, as long as it fulfilled the desires Az had only hinted at.

"Heh... Humans and their insatiable greed," Az mused with a chuckle, reminiscing about his own human past.

He couldn't help but feel lucky. Being summoned under these circumstances meant he could prolong his stay in this world. Unless the 500 souls were promptly delivered, which he highly doubted they could manage, he would have ample time to revel in this world. And with more time came more opportunities to gather souls!

"With this, I have sealed the deal!" The Colonel exclaimed, a sinister chuckle escaping his lips. "Now, I have really signed a contract with a demon! There's no need for that fat pig! Who does he think he is, parading around on his high horse and denying me the gift of vampirism!" Colonel's words dripped with both determination and a hint of vengeful anticipation, his breath heavy with the intensity of his desires.

"Major?" Az voiced out, finding this term oddly familiar... And there was that common vampirism stuff.

"Yes! That Fucking Pig! After all that we've done, funding, and providing him with everything he needs for his project, and in the end he doesn't fulfill his promise!! That fucking PIGFUCK! I'll be sure to tear his fucking pig neck!" The Colonel exclaimed, his eyes bulging and veins popping on his face.

'Pig Major... Fund... Project.. Where have I heard this?' Finding these terms familiar, Az decided to just ask. Noting to create some memory enhancing pill or skill soon.

"Enough, explain." Az stated in cold tone, urging the Colonel to stop spouting shit and get to the point.

Nervously, the words stumbled out, "Y-yes, my Lord! I meant Major, the high-ranking Nazi SS officer! He was initiating a project about vampires, and he promised us that in return of our full funding and support, he will turn us into a vampire! And so, um... we supported him, but also because he claimed to have direct orders from der Führer."

Az was left utterly stunned upon hearing about the intertwining of Nazis, vampires, and the enigmatic Major. Suddenly, everything became clearer to him.

"But that despicable swine grew arrogant! Despite our unwavering support, he denied us the gift of immortality. He had lost his mind, raving about a top-secret order from der Führer, leading an army of a thousand vampires into madness. He spoke of relishing in his 'infinite pleasure of war.' That deranged swine!"

"..."

Silence filled the air.

In the aftermath, all doubts disappeared. Nazis, vampire projects, and a certain Major obsessed with war—Az now knew the world he was trapped in.

"What luck..." he muttered, torn between tears and gratitude towards fate. While the world might not be teeming with dangers, certain bothersome individuals did exist in this realm.

"M-my lord?" The Colonel's voice trembled, shattering the silence as he observed the demon lost in silent contemplation.

"Where is the Major at present?" The question escaped his lips, driven by a desire to grasp the unfolding timeline.

"He embarked on the Airship Deus Ex Machina two days ago, presumably headed for England," came the reply.

"The prologue to war, eh?" Az chuckled softly, a sinister glimmer dancing in his eyes. 'Though it's been long, it matters not. War begets death, and death yields souls! The abundance of souls is what truly matters.'

'Nonetheless, Hellsing, you say?' Az's smirk widened, a sense of intrigue enveloping him. "Interesting. I wonder how our paths shall cross,

Alucard."
