The Mysterious Fourth Floor

Some buildings avoid having a fourth floor because the number four is considered unlucky. When I was a child, I lived on the fifth floor of one of these buildings. One day, while coming home from school, something strange happened. I was in the elevator when it suddenly stopped between the third and fourth floors. The elevator doors opened slowly, and I saw the number four displayed. I immediately closed the elevator doors.

When I got home, I told my mother about this, but she dismissed it, insisting that I must have been mistaken. However, I was sure I had seen the number four. The next day, there was a power outage in the entire building, so I had to use the stairs to go home. After passing the third floor, I continued to climb, but astonishingly, I found myself on the fourth floor.

I began to question my own sanity – had I truly reached the fourth floor? I decided to investigate. I opened the fire exit door on the fourth floor, and to my shock, I discovered a lifeless female body hanging from a water pipe.
