The Haunting Elevator Encounter

One evening, after finishing work, I walked out of the office building alone and realized that I had left my phone on my desk. Reluctantly, I turned back to retrieve it, even though it was already well past 2 AM. The surroundings were eerily quiet with not a soul in sight. If it weren't for the work I needed to complete, I'd have been watching an exciting World Cup football match on my couch.

My office was on the 27th floor, but when I entered the elevator on the 23rd floor, the doors opened without anyone waiting outside. Given the late hour, I promptly pressed the "close door" button. However, just as the doors were about to shut, I suddenly saw someone's head right in front of me, shouting, "Why didn't you wait for me?" I was startled and jumped, but when I regained my composure, there was nothing to be seen. Reflecting on the situation, I could only recall that, as the doors were closing, a pale, elderly face suddenly appeared and screamed. It happened so suddenly that I couldn't make out the person's face. However, I was sure that a head had appeared between the closing doors.

Summoning my courage, I reached the 27th floor, quickly retrieved my phone from my office, and prepared to leave. As I pressed the button for the elevator to descend, I noticed that the same elevator I had ridden earlier was slowly ascending from the 23rd floor. I initially thought I might have inadvertently called it while I was on the 23rd floor, but I was mistaken. As the elevator stopped and the doors opened in front of me, the familiar face once again appeared... This time, I got a clearer look at it. The face was there, but below the neck, there was nothing. This pale, bodiless elderly person asked, "Why did you press the elevator button again?" At that moment, my vision darkened, and I felt a sense of fainting...
