Set Sail (1)

The time was 9 AM, the morning silence broken only by the shuffling of one of the boys living in the orphanage. He gathered his things to set out on his adventure as a pirate. He got his staff, his warm boat clothes, and his pirate storybooks. He said goodbye to each of his brothers and sisters at the orphanage as he left. He hadn't told them that this might be the last time they would see each other.

"Kaze!" The boy's keeper called to him. He turned to look back one last time. Her eyes were filled with regret and sadness. She has been trying to get him to stop wanting to be a pirate since before he was 8, but now that he was 18 he truly felt like he could take on the world. The moment of Kaze's lingering gaze back at his former home passed, he turned once again towards the great sapphire sea that lay beyond Louge town and marched forward.

Kaze only had one problem, at least he only recognized this one right now. He didn't exactly have a ship. But that's where his pirate storybooks came in handy. They told of warriors of the sea that took what they needed when they needed it. And right now Kaze did need a ship. The smallest of the three docks in Louge town was shaped like a U, the outside was surrounded by buildings and three large docks jutted out of the ground into the water. Rows of ships lined these docks. Some of them Kaze couldn't even hope to pilot, even if he had even a small crew. But he had found two that might work. One was a trading ship, branded with logos of the company that owned it. It looked to be made of finer wood, but it would take all Kaze had to pilot the ship when he wanted to move. The other seemed like it had been through a war, a fire, a tornado then ended up right in front of him. It was perfect.

The Zephyr 2 Kaze dubbed it as he untied the ship, It was completely unguarded at best and downright abandoned, which was the most likely scenario. Kaze started to undock his new ship when a voice screamed from across the dock, cutting through even the loudest noise

"STOP!! THAT THIEF IS STEALING MY SHIP!!!" A man ran towards Zephyr 2 with his sword drawn. He was in his mid-30s, balding and quite round in body. The man wore a striped shirt with brown pants. Kaze was only halfway done untieing the vessel, he would have to fight.

The man got boarded the ship along with two others who joined him to stop Kaze. They all glared at Kaze with hateful eyes.

You're a dead man kid!" Zephyr 2's old owner growled. He lunged towards Kaze, stabbing at his torso. A full breath of air filled Kaze's lungs in under a second.

"Super Secret Breathing Technique: Blastback Breath Wall!" Kaze said. The breath that followed molded itself into a wall that the man's stab bounced off of. The wall began to advance until it had the three men pined up against the sea.

"He's a devil fruit user!" One of the helpers yelled.

"He'll still bleed when I stab him!" The owner yelled back.

The wall started to deform into normal air, but by the time the attackers had regained their composure Kaze had gotten his Bo Staff ready to fight. The Bo Staff deflected each of the oncoming attacks, knocking the sword's wielders upside the head for their troubles. Kaze bowed and jumped when he needed at just the right times.

His storybooks had detailed how pirates tended to fight, so Kaze based his fighting style after countering a man with a saber. He used the end of the staff to wack the fingers of one of the helpers, his sword clattered on the floor. Kaze used a breath attack to push the man off the ship into the sea's frozen depths.

Then he turned his attention to the other helper. His two-step plan was executed in three phases, distract the owner, blind the helper and then get him out of the fight. Kaze achieved it by knocking the owner off his feet and then launching him into the captain's quarters then he spun his whole body around striking the side of the helper's head with the left end of his staff. The other side came and smacked him right on the bridge of his nose. Blood poured out of both of his nostrils.

The man kicked at Kaze's legs, knocking him to the floor. Before he could react a blade was flying down at his face. Kaze jerked his head to the right, he was only quick enough to not get stabbed, but the blade still cut down his cheek. Kaze formed his breath into a fist that uppercut the man, sending him flying up into the air. When he landed he clearly unconscious.

From inside the captain's quarters, a voice roared. "GET THE HELL OFF MY SHIP!". Kaze turned to face the foe.

Kaze returns to the new server in this cannon side story! (This takes place 3 years before the events of OP: Worst Generation!)
