Ambush and massacre

After a couple of days Leo, Elly and the Shmidt brothers with their adventurers team to venture into one of the dungeons. It was publicly known where they will go. They even took a few missions of goblin subjugations. Most of their team were E or F rank adventure members. Only the Shmidt family members were the really strong ones.

At the other part of the city a few Noble families were gathered. They were the Smith, Jonson and Davis families. Also The hegemon power of the city in terms of strength that had a few mage apprentices and few knights in their family were also present. It was the Garcia family. The only thing connected those powers was the fact that they did not want the Shmidts to grow. Some of them had conflicts with this family and some of them did not want to lose their position and benefits. Power shifts were not always a good thing for the different nobles. They got information about the fact that the brother duo got to the level of knights. It was a very impressive achievement. It would elevate the Shmidt family to a totally new status. Because of that the family heads that gathered here really wanted to try and settle things before big changes will happen in the power levels of the city.

The family heads names were: David Smith, Greg Jonson, Alfred David and Horhe Garcia. As the hegemon of the city Horhe said: "How many people each of you will send to eliminate those brats? We need as much force as possible. It will insure less losses to our men in case something unexpected will happen."

The different family heads were quite for some time before each of them sent 1 official knight and 5 apprentice knights of various levels. Each such team will be led by the knights selected. The family Heads did not trust their children to lead such force. After listening to the different family heads Horhe said with a smile:" Not bad. In that case I will send three mage apprentices and three knights. It should be enough to eliminate them with no witnesses."

The family heads smiled. A force like this could destroy every one of the noble families present. It was an assured victory. With no younger generation left the Shmidt's will decline with a short amount of time. The plan was set and the forces were also sent into the goblin dungeon.

In that time the Shmidt adventurare team was already killing goblins with a full swing. When the members got the information that the brothers got to the level of a knight they were really happy. The party went further into the dungeon than usual because of the brothers upgrade. Elly and Leo did not do anything in the team. They just watched. Leo was just looking at how the team was working. Elly was getting used to the killed goblins and killing in general. It was not easy. The sight of a humanoid figures cut apart. With the smell of piss and shit and the sight of different liquid's spilled from the goblin bodies when they were cut did not gave Elly an easy time. She even puked a couple of times.

Time slowly passed by. The Shmidt's thought they knew how the world works and were ready for everything but oh boy they were very wrong. The party of the noble families alliance was close by. They already were looking for a good moment to attack and annihilate everyone present. All those people were clothed in black colored clothes so they could not be recognized. It was a well developed plan with a skilled team. The work should not really be very bothersome. six first circle knights and 3 first circle mages of different elements with 15 knight apprentices were a significant force no one in the city could dismiss. It was not to difficult to kill the Shmidt adventure party of 15 members with this team.

At evening the Shmidt party got ready to camp inside the dungeon. It was nothing new. They picked up a generally desolate place and put up their tents. One of the party members was always on guard so he can warn everyone else if something unusual was happening. In the few days the party was in the dungeon already there was only case when all party members woke up to fight goblins that came during night time. All the party members went to sleep. Leo, Elly and the Shmidt brothers had different tents for each of them because of their status. Everything seemed to be peaceful until the abrupt attack came. The party woke up to the shrieks of the scout dying in the hands of one of the assassins. Before everyone even understood what had happened all hell broke loose. 4 more party members were killed in mere seconds. They were not ready and they could not hold against the overwhelming force of the noble party sent. When the Shmidt party gathered into formation only six members of the fifteen were left. Leo, Elly, the Shmidt brothers and Rodrigez and Fernandez. They all were baffled but got the point of the fact that they were going to get killed when they tried to communicate with the assailers and got two more people killed as a result. In the end only the four of the Shmidt's remained. Rodrigez and Fernandez got brutally sliced in half by one of the knights. They could not really do anything to those guys. They were just too weak. Leo did not hold anything back and released all his magic power. He had a lot of mana and a lot of rage pent inside. The brothers duo defended the mage couple the best ways they could. Leo was shooting earth bullets like a maniac. When those earth bullets hit a knight apprentices the parts that were hit would just explode because of the sheer amount of strength that was held in each attack. It was like a full strength attack from a 4 ring level knight hit them each time. Screams and howls resounded as the apprentices of the assassins were quickly dealt with. 15 apprentice knights were killed or got to a state when they could no longer fight. Leo targeted them first. He tried to hit their head. When he did it just exploded into bloody mush. Elly was not of much help. She puked and cried. No one had time to get her back to reality from the hysterical condition she was in right now. After getting a little more calm Leo surrounded himself, Elly and the Shmidt brothers with high earth walls in a way where the assailants will have only a really small corridor to attack from where only 1 person can come at a time. It will give him and his new family more chances to survive. The tactic was simple. Now it was more a fight of attrition to be won by one of the sides.
