Realizing the imminent threat posed by the second grand magus, Emery knew he had to seize the opportunity to incapacitate or eliminate the pirate chieftain before facing both formidable opponents.

Swiftly channeling his power, Emery unleashed another [Dao Edge] toward the pale and exhausted grand magus. However, the significant depletion of spirit energy from the previous spell rendered this attack only half as potent. The result was a massive cut through Chieftain Gaizan's chest, splattering blood into the void of space. Despite the gravity of the wound, the attack was not fatal.

The heavy voices of the pirates echoed with chuckles "You... failed!"
