chapter 7 - The devil

Issei heard his female classmate scream turn to see Kiba or Yumi who pretended to be a man. he bitterly remember the reason why she pretended to be man.

Seeing her close friend die in failed Excalibur and burden watching them take their last breath. She had close a twin brother who protected her from the pursuit of the one responsible for the project.

When Rias found her and become a reincarnated, she took the name of her brother to mark her plans for vengeance and also to not forget why she wish to serve rias. Issei chuckled remembering the time at the pool after defeating Kokabiel where she reveal herself afterward Xenovia found them and requested to join in.

'Sigh that was the time where everything was simple.'

"Kiba-san!? Come in!?"

"Kiba-san c-can we invite you for a karaoke later?"

"I'm sorry ladies but I'm here on an errand on behalf of Rias Gremory to get Issei Hyoudou."

Kiba or Yumi approached Issei and felt her heart pound from each them when she met with his gaze. She had been doing her best to remove any feminine even cutting her hair who his twin brother loved.

Every girls whispered their complaints about Issei perverted past while Kiba finally came face to face with Issei.

"Well Issei, if you don't mind coming with me."

"Oh alright."

She remain composed despite her heart beating faster than normal. Issei took his bag over his shoulder then followed Yumi towards Occult Research Club. Along the way, Yumi kept giving Issei quick glances who only gave her cheeky smile.

"Sooo uhmm I was wondering any particular reason why you were sent to fetch me instead of me going personally?"

"The reason is due the area having barrier that wouldn't allow anyone to enter without a special seal."

"Wait barrier?? Do you mean magic spells??"

"Yes, my master would explain about the incident yesterday. I was wondering how you able to fight a fallen angel so easily? From what we observe you aren't someone train to fight?"

Issei already knew screw but prepared an explanation.

"About that, my body seem to move on its own and know exactly what to do. Any ideas? It would be a great help."

"Unfortunately, I don't know. Oh here we are."

Issei and Yumi finally arrive at the ORC building. They entered a dimly lit room with surrounding candles being the only light sources. The people present was Koneko who was eating a sweet giving a quick glance to Issei and Akeno who was giving a seductive smile approaching him.

"Oh no need to be nervous. It's great to properly meet you, Issei Hyoudou."

Her seductive smile was just mask of her pain. Issei knew well why she acted this way. He recalled about her mothers death and hatred towards Baraqiel, her father. No one could blame her since her father was too late to save her mother.

However, this all changes when Issei was able to learn to revived the dead. He was able to find a fragment of Shuri, Akeno's mother soul within her. He used complicated spells along with the Sephiroth Grail to revive her.

It was the only time they were able to revive the dead due Shuri fragmented soul attaching itself to akeno protecting her.

'I wonder if I could revive her once I gain some of my original strength.'

" Ara~ is their something in my face?"

"Ah no! I was just thinking something. Well it's nice to meet you too."

"Fufufu well why don't you have sit."

Issei awkwardly said while waiting for Rias to finish showering. He sat down as Akeno serve him tea teasingly showing her breast. Crossing his legs then taking the cup of tea surprising Akeno with his etiquette.

"Ara~ Ara~ I didn't expect you being well mannered."

"Oh well it felt natural for some reason. Anyway the tea taste great, Akeno-senpai."

"Please just call me Akeno."

"Eh really!? Calling you so casually seem out of my league."

"fufufu I don't mind."

"Oh you're here, Great we can start discussing about yesterday."

Rias finish her shower and came out drying her haired. She move to her desk and welcomed issei.

"Well first I want to welcome to the Occult Research."

"Great to be here. Now I've been dying to ask about that black wing guy and why body seem to move on its own."

"Before I answer that tell me do you believe in the supernatural?"

"Few days ago no but recently I've been having strange dream about having a date and being killed. After that I saw enormous red dragon telling me about so called sacred gear?"

"Red dragon empress, Irene. The booster gear I believe that is your sacred gear."

Rias calmly said thought her inner voice was excited that she hit the jackpot on having a powerful pawn. However, the foreign kept colliding with her desire.

"Boosted gear?"

He acted oblivious of the truth about the supernatural. Issei on of the few have boundless knowledge about many things including hidden mythical creatures. It was results of spending hundred thousand years in improving himself.

"One of the thirteen Longinus and houses the one of the two heavenly dragon, Irene, the red dragon empress. Its ability is to Doubles the wielder's power every 10 seconds."

It was the current boosted gear, however for Issei had remove the interval and can boost endless with the help of Ophis at that time. Still even though his power could destroy planet it wasn't enough to fight the outer gods underlings.

Issei is limited by time and his current past body. He needed to train it to let naturally fuse with his past and current self.

"Moving on, the reason I ask you this is because all of us you would call Devils including you."

With that Rias took out their wings showing the bat like wings. Issei acted bewildered and thought how he will adjust his own devils wings. He currently had thirteen wings which would make them shock.

"You weren't kidding aren't you?"

Issei then took out his devils making sure it was only one pair. He quickly acted surprise seeing a growing appendage.

"Now that you know about the truth why don't we awaken see your sacred gear?"

Rias instructed Issei on how to summon his sacred gear. In an instant wave of pressure ran through the room as Issei left forearm was enveloped by a crimson gauntlet.

"Greetings devils it is pleasure to meet all of you."

"It's true! The red dragon empress, Irene."

[Thanks to you, devil I was able to be awaken by my new host. However, I do not take it kindly that you had let him die by the hand of those fallen angel before reincarnating him.]

Irene spoke lace with poison making the devils shudder in fear. She quite mad even if she knew this was in the past. Her love for Issei is unquestionably and hated him getting hurt.

'You don't be that harsh.'

['Surely you jest, my dear Issei. I'm doing this in order to make this red haired heiress know her action.']

In the past, Rias acted spoiled princess which Irene doesn't take kindly. She only acting harsh to make her know that she could have done something different without making him suffer.

She could have invite him much early on before even meeting Yuuma. The result would be the same the only difference Issei won't have to suffer.

"I will bare that in mind."

Rias bitterly said feeling regretful from her harsh decision. It was intensify by the foreign emotion.

[You better be young heiress. Well I will fall into slumber.]

With that the crimson gauntlet vanish leaving the dishearten devils while they turn to see Issei staring at his arms.

"What the hell was that?"

"That was your sacred gear."

"I see, that's quite freaky and cool at the same time. Sooooo is there anymore things I have to know? Considering your devil do I make deals and steal soul?"

"Sort of, we devils provide service to people like delivers. In the past…"

Rias began to explained about the devil faction and its rich history As Issei listen intently not because he doesn't know but hearing voice give him so much joy.

"Anymore question?"

"Nope that was crystal clear!"

"Well now come here we will perform a teleportation for your first client since Koneko had two, take one of them."

"That would be great."

"Ah no problem."

Koneko thank Issei in a monotone voice while Akeno began to create a teleportation with sigil of Gremory household. Issei grinned excitedly since in the past he couldn't use this meager spell.

Upon getting at the center of the teleportation. Issei vision was enveloped by bright light acting shocked yet it turn real as he wasn't transported to a human room but multicolored void with nothing to be seen.

"Wait why am in the dimensional gap!"

"Hello there, Issei. Its great to see you again."
