Chapter 62: New ANBU Division

As Shisui listened to Sasuke's plan, he couldn't help but feel impressed by the possibilities this would bring. "An army of shadow soldiers, stationed all around Japan while gathering information for us,"

Shisui mused. "It's a brilliant idea, Sasuke. With these shadow soldiers at our disposal, we'll have a significant advantage in any conflict."

Sasuke nodded, pleased with Shisui's positive response. "Exactly," he said. "Their ability to relay information quickly and efficiently will give us a real-time view of any potential threats or intrusions. And since they're made of shadows, they can move undetected, ensuring the element of surprise is always on our side."

Shisui grinned, his excitement evident. "I can already see how useful they'll be in our operations," he said. "Once we receive information from them, we can act swiftly, and no enemy will have a chance to take us by surprise."

With their plan in motion, Sasuke led the way to an empty area in the room. He focused his chakra into his Rinnesharingan but also Annihilation Maker.

He then placed his hand on the ground and black mist then began to exude from his palm, spreading like a dark shroud across the room.

As the black mist filled the area, it started to ripple and writhe like waves, separating into a hundred individual black blobs. Each blob began to morph and change, taking on the form of a human body. Within moments, 100 shadow ninjas stood before them, identical in appearance.

Their black robes billowed around them, and their faces were concealed behind masks, leaving only their glowing purple eyes visible. The shadow ninjas knelt down in perfect and orderly lines, ready to follow Sasuke's commands.

Sasuke gazed back at Shisui, a sense of determination in his eyes. "These shinobi are made out of my darkness manipulation, but I also infused my sacred gear, Annihilation Maker, into them," he explained.

Shisui went towards the rows of Shinobi cloaked in darkness and inspected them. "They will be quite difficult to locate. It is best no one knows about this division besides our close confidants." Sasuke placed his hand under his chin in contemplation. "I agree, the less people know, the better. This will be similar to ROOT."

Shisui coughed upon hearing the term "ROOT." "Uh, let us not name it that. Too many bad memories and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth," he remarked.

Sasuke was amused by Shisui's reaction and replied, "You are right. While the name may sound fitting, it holds a disgusting history for us."

They both decided to brainstorm for a new name that would reflect the division's abilities to move through shadows effortlessly. Suddenly, they sensed Itachi approaching them.

Itachi greeted them warmly and inquired about their discussion. Sasuke, seeking his brother's input, asked, "What would be a good alternative name for our division, instead of ROOT?"

Itachi furrowed his eyebrows at the mention of ROOT, clearly disapproving of the name. "Why don't we call it Dark Ops," he suggested.

Sasuke and Shisui softly muttered the name to themselves, feeling that it resonated well with the theme of their unit. "That sounds good. It is best we came up with so far," Sasuke declared, with Shisui nodding in agreement.

Sasuke then gestured towards all the kneeling shadow shinobi. "This will be a new division stationed around Japan for information gathering," he announced proudly. Shisui added, "Indeed, this division will be kept private, only for us and a select few to know about. Igris and I will lead it."

Itachi observed the shinobi lined up and nodded in approval. "They seem well-suited for the task. Are we planning to plant spies in other factions and station them in different supernatural realms?" he inquired.

Sasuke remained silent, deep in thought. After a moment, he responded, "Eventually, yes. But for now, this is a trial run. Given the vast scope of the supernatural world, I will have to create more them in the future."

Sasuke felt a sense of satisfaction as he looked at his newly formed division, ready to execute their mission. Igris stepped forward, his purple eyes gleaming with determination.

Standing beside Shisui, Sasuke addressed them both. "Igris, you'll be the leader of our new division Dark Ops. But don't worry, Shisui, you'll be the co-leader. However, Igris won't be involved in gathering information directly. As you saw during your fight, his power is rapidly approaching the Super rank."

Shisui couldn't help but chuckle at the thought. "Having someone as powerful as Igris focused on intelligence gathering does sound a bit unusual."

Sasuke nodded, a smile forming on his face. "Exactly. His role will be our first line of defense. If an enemy appears within range of one of the shadow shinobi, Igris will swiftly switch places with them, and I'll be notified immediately. If the opponent proves too formidable, either of us will step in to handle the situation."

Itachi, who had been silently observing, spoke up. "That seems like a well-thought-out plan. If the time comes, I'll will confront the enemy." Shisui nodded in agreement. "Yes, this will play to our strength as Shinobis."

Sasuke then addressed all the shadow shinobi lined up before them, their faces concealed by black masks. "Now disperse and circulate throughout Japan, especially in key areas where supernatural activities are known to take place. Begin gathering information and relaying it to one another and, ultimately, to Igris and Shisui. We need to know the weaknesses and strengths of other supernatural factions."

In unison, the cloaked figures responded, "Yes, Commander!" Like a sea of shadows, they quickly disappeared from the room, each heading in a different direction, their movements swift and silent.

Sasuke watched as the black trails vanished into the distance.

He knew that with this new division, their intelligence-gathering capabilities would be unmatched. Now, they were one step closer to gaining the upper hand in the world of the supernatural.
