40 Chapter 39: Time Passes

__Interlude__

'That son of a bitch, Odin. When I get my hands on him, I'll skin him alive for tainting Mordred!' Tiamat was currently in her dragon form, flying right towards Scandinavia so she could get inside Asgard.

Arriving at the bifrost, Tiamat forcibly opened up the Asgardians' portal, flooding it with tons of mana until the space ripped open.

"C-contact Odin-sama! We have an intruder coming right to Asgard by brute forcing themselves through the bifrost." The guardian of the bifrost; Heimdall sounded the alarms.

He then had to cover his ears from the roar that suddenly resounded all throughout Asgard. It was filled with mana and a powerful pulse of magic erupted from the epicenter, destroying kilometers upon kilometers of land.

"ODIN! YOU FUCKER! COME OUT SO I CAN KILL YOU!" Tiamat roared and the residents of Asgard all had one thought in mind.

'That sounds like a woman... Odin-sama managed to offend someone of her strength due to his perverseness. Asgard is done for.' They prayed for their nation.

"T-Tiamat... Why are you here?" Odin appeared before her and he tried to remember the reason why she could be so angry.

"You son of a bitch! You taught Mordred such disgusting things! Now he's spewing random crap!" Tiamat's slitted eyes were now thin lines, focusing on him to the maximum.

"Now, now, let's be civil. Mordred came to me so he could learn! The fault is not mine alone!" Odin tried to worm his way out of it.

"Prepare to die! Asgard will be rubble when I'm done!" Tiamat breathed in and Odin paled, she was going to release a full powered breath attack right at the heart of Asgard.

"Wait! Wait! What seems to be the prob-" Thor tried to diffuse the situation, but he suddenly got swiped by Tiamat's arm. A dragon's fury has no bounds, anything in the way towards revenge will not be spared.

She then released a thin beam from her mouth that arrived towards Odin in the blink of an eye. He only managed to dodge due to his foresight.

Suddenly, it hit the ground and in a split second. A titanic amount of mana was about to compress and explode into a bomb that will destroy Asgard.

"Uwoooaaah! Fuck you old man! This is your fault!" Baldr and Vidar quickly set up the most powerful defensive runes they could conjure.

Vidar powered it up with his large mana pool and Baldr controlled the thing so he could contain the explosion.

The duo then dropped down to the ground face first after containing Tiamat's attack. She has been making slow progress to gain strength, but she is without a doubt the strongest member of their family.

They spent all their mana in reducing damage to a small space and Odin got really nervous. 'Shit, she really will destroy Asgard. Mordred, you have to stop your mom damnit!'

Odin was sweating bullets and Tiamat clicked her tongue, seeing that she missed.

"Wait! Wait! Mordred has been learning primordial runes from me too!" Odin informed her and she raised a brow.

"Go and ask him what he knows about primordial runes! He's the best student that I ever taught!" Odin pleaded and Tiamat squinted her eyes.

"When I learn you're lying, I'll gut you. Rip your balls and cock off and shove it in your mouth." She growled and Tiamat flew away, sobering up a bit.

She couldn't just destroy Asgard like that, Serafall and the other Satans will be under fire.

Odin sighed in relief. "Father... What in the world did you teach Mordred to make Tiamat that mad? You do know that she's the strongest dragon king right?" Thor glared at him.

The old man just huffed though. "Mordred will be my successor! I have never met someone that has the potential to be a harem god! He'll get all the ladies, even his mom! He will be legendary!" Odin looked like a mad man and Thor just shook his head in disappointment.

After a few years, Mordred was currently ten and he looked like he was a teen already. Having another ridiculous growth spurt.

All of Mordred's kin were currently watching him duke it out with Scathach. Black water formed on his fingertips like whips and he manipulated them expertly.

Multiple strings of primordial water looked to be rampaging around aimlessly. But he was guiding them to trap Scathach.

"That's it Mordred! I can feel my blood boiling!" Scathach was forced to wield two spears in order to block the primordial water that can corrode her runes too quickly.

Ise was the only one who could watch their high speed battle. She concentrated boosts on her eyesight so her dynamic vision would improve exponentially.

"They look like they want to kill each other, what is with them?" Ise frowned as she thought that they would seriously harm each other.

Scathach suddenly stopped in her tracks and she went wide eyed. Her shadow was stitched to the ground. She flared her mana explosively and she barely dodged a black spike made out of the eclipse dragon's primal water.

The grazed wound on her side hissed as it tried to eat away at her flesh. "This thing is nasty, it's not exactly poisonous. But it even encroaches on my divinity." Scathach grinned at him and thought he had come a long way.

"Well, I train hard, master." Mordred went in with Caliburn and he is now more comfortable wielding it with one hand.

His off hand conducted his magic nigh perfectly, making Scathach proud of Mordred's progress.

'I was right, he could do what Setanta couldn't. Finally free me from my immortal body.' Scathach got excited and she stabbed her spear forward.

Gae bolg's tip released blood red tendrils and they followed Mordred like they had minds of their own.

He waved his left hand, countering it with primordial water and the shadows. Scathach aimed for that outcome and she threw her offhand spear right at him.

Leaving a thin trail of red light, the demonic spear couldn't be stopped by Apophis' powers. It pierced through the wall of black water that rose. Too quick to be corroded.

"Tch, as usual. Your spears are troublesome, master. He dropped the control of Apophis' powers and he blocked it with the Kusanagi.

The katana that arced lightning everywhere clashed with the spear. Mordred overpowered it with his ridiculous mana reserves that could only be matched by Ise in her balance breaker.

"How about a second one!" Scathach threw the other one and Mordred blinked.

"Watch out Mordred!" Lavinia warned him and he got stabbed in the chest by Scathach's red spear.

His kin gasped, but when they looked at Scathach who was calm. She was currently being confronted by Mordred who had Caliburn right at her throat.

"Very good, you can finally match me when I was still a mortal. Very good indeed..." Scathach didn't lose though, she had another gae bolg right at his chest and Mordred nodded.

The Mordred that got stabbed suddenly melted, revealing that it was just a shadow construct that he made by combining Apophis' control over shadows and yojutsu.

"You sure are strong master, I can't imagine fighting you in your full strength right now." Mordred sighed, but he was satisfied that he managed to get a draw for now.

"If I get beaten by a ten year old brat that doesn't have pubes yet, I'll kill myself instantly. Of course you won't win." Scathach snorted. 'Not yet at least, what a goddamned monster.'

"You guys alright? That was purrety intense nya." Kuroka smiled nervously and she patted Mordred's chest, thinking that he has a hole in it.

"It was all controlled, don't worry about it." Mordred waved them off and they nodded, all's well, ends well.

"You, vampire. I want you to do something for me. Everybody else except Mordred, leave." Scathach announced and they didn't ask why. Trusting her that she won't do anything to harm them.

"Okay, master!" They disappeared in a magic circle and Mordred raised a brow.

"I have an idea Mordred, you are my favorite student. As a teacher, I shouldn't be saying that. But I am not a liar, that's beneath me." Scathach looked at him seriously.

"Yes master, what do you want Valerie to do anyway? Is it about her sacred gear?" Mordred squinted his eyes. That was a dangerous thing to fiddle with. So he needed more info.

"Exactly, the dhampir here can influence souls right? I want to help you with something, try and guess what it is." Scathach tapped her foot, waiting for him to come to a conclusion.

'Something that will help me... And Valerie is involved in it. Wait, she has been strengthening our souls so we won't succumb to attacks that target the soul.'

"Is it about Apophis?" He blinked and thought that it was a good time to make him submit to his will. Mordred waited for a good opportunity, but Apophis is really stubborn.

Grendel is a meathead that just wants to charge at everything. Unlike Apophis that bides his time. Like he was waiting for something specific.

"What will I be doing master? I want to help Mordred to master his powers." Valerie made a guts pose.

"That's the spirit. Mordred, You once told me that Grendel had to control your body so you can have a battle for dominance. I have been thinking for a while. And I will restrain you while you fight against the primal eclipse dragon." Scathach put a hand on his shoulder and he smiled.

"You would do that for me master? Mom is deathly scared of me trying to do that. So I would really appreciate this opportunity." He bowed and Scathach rolled her eyes.

"Kings shouldn't bow to anyone Mordred. I am your master, come. Let us bring you to new heights." Scathach grinned at him. She was excited to bring out his full potential.

'I don't even know if I can do it. There are five more evil dragons inside of him. And he apparently forms mana cores once he gets full control of them.' She remembered his story about Grendel and Scathach doubted that she could bring out everything he has to offer.

'Truly a student that will surpass the master.' She trusted him to surpass her as a great warrior. Living in the land of shadows as her only purpose left is nothing but a punishment. She wishes for it to end.

She does not regret turning out like that. But it definitely is nice to put an old woman to rest. She has made peace with it all.

Mordred sat down and Valerie took out three chalices. Gold, silver, and bronze. The gold one is the quintessential Sephiroth Graal.

It was able to influence souls and change the very essence of people that Valerie uses it on.

The silver one is much more suited to control souls. Which is a pretty scary power, if maximized correctly.

And the bronze acted as a binder. They actually theorized that it is the reason why she didn't go insane. Because it stabilizes the other two chalices.

Overall, a subspecies of Sephiroth Graal definitely bumped up Valerie's guard duties. Scathach also took her in even if she wasn't ready. Going easier on the vampire until she got up to speed. Because she would need the skills and training.

"What do we do next master?" Mordred looked at her, his eyes were full of trust and Scathach was flattered.

"Valerie, I want you to bring out Apophis forcibly and lock them in a battle." Scathach ordered and Valerie nodded.

The gold and silver chalices were filled with her magic power. She then cycled her mana through them into Mordred, influencing the depths of his soul where the evil dragons are locked.

She started sweating heavily as the two concentrated. "Don't worry, I'll support you." Scathach slapped on a rune on her and it was a transfer rune. Scathach's divine mana flowed into her and Valerie's job got easier.

Mordred then started forming jewels on his body. And black scales sprouted from his skin. Shadows were acting erratically and primordial water began to flow out of his body.

"Then, let's do this..." Scathach cracked her neck and rolled her shoulders.
