Issei and Ingvild
Despite the heavy burden weighing on his mind, Issei had managed to enjoy a restful night's sleep. Currently, he and Ingvild were riding on Red's motorcycle, making their way toward town. As they halted at a red light, Issei glanced back at Ingvild. "Are you certain that Saji lives in this part of town?"
"Yes, it's an apartment provided to him by the Sitri Family. Considering what he witnessed last night, I doubt he attended school today," responded the half-devil.
Eventually, they arrived at a location emitting a devilish scent, indicative of Saji's residence. They knocked on the door, but their efforts yielded no response. Issei sniffed the air, attempting to glean any information. "It seems he's not here... That fool probably did go to school today. Damn..." he muttered in frustration.
"Do you want to go fetch him?" Ingvild inquired, her curiosity piqued.
Issei sighed, contemplating the situation. "I'll get him once he returns home. For now, let's focus on your training and some of mine."
"Alright, that sounds reasonable," Ingvild agreed, nodding as they descended the stairs, heading back to Issei's motorcycle.
"Feeling hungry at all? I didn't have the chance to stock up on food for the new house. I'd rather not bother with grocery shopping until this ordeal is over. Why don't we grab something to eat before training?" Issei suggested.
Ingvild smiled, surprised by the invitation. "You want to have lunch... with me?"
Issei chuckled, lightening the moment. "I'm just teasing... but we do need to fuel up for training. I haven't eaten since yesterday's lunch. How about some Oden or maybe ramen?" he suggested, gauging her response.
Blushing slightly, the girl responded, "I'm... fine with whatever you decide."
Issei chuckled and replied, "I know a good spot. Surprisingly, even the workers there like me." As they walked back to his motorcycle, the two of them engaged in lighthearted conversation, enjoying each other's company.
Meanwhile, at a distance, Athena and Artemis observed the scene. Athena, holding a crystal attached to a magical device, remarked, "I wonder who that girl is. My scrying analysis indicates that she's part devil. Quite interesting."
Artemis, with a disdainful expression, commented, "So this thuggish punk is the Crimson Nightmare Dragon? And why is he dressed like that? That dragon motorcycle looks utterly ridiculous."
Athena, intrigued by the situation, carefully monitored the events. "I was concerned that he might sense our presence, but it seems he can't from this range. The spell is effectively concealing us," she noted.
Artemis crossed her arms and teased, "You're such a nerd, Athena. Seriously, what do you think of this guy? He seems like a typical playboy to me."
Athena considered their options and then made a request, "Artemis, could you fire a stealth shot onto the back of his motorcycle? I would like to place a scrying crystal on it so we can observe him when he goes indoors."
Smirking mischievously, Artemis replied, "Oh, you don't want to do it yourself? Fine, I'll shoot it. Just make sure to attach your precious crystal."
Athena sighed as she finished enchanting the magical stone and handed it to Artemis. "I've enchanted it to follow him so that we can continue our scrying from here," she explained.
Artemis playfully taunted Athena, "Yeah, okay, whatever you say, Athena," as she skillfully nocked the arrow from her crescent bow and fired it towards Issei's motorcycle. It struck the back of the motorcycle but disappeared shortly afterward. Athena then summoned the scrying device, which closely followed Issei and Ingvild, providing them with a means to observe.
"They didn't notice... that's good," Athena stated seriously, adjusting the scrying device to get a closer view. However, the moment it approached, the scrying display vanished, leaving Athena puzzled.
Confused, she questioned Artemis, "What?! What happened?"
Artemis shrugged and replied, "You tell me... I made my shot."
Realizing the situation, Athena concluded, "That's odd... It seems the dragon has an illusion aura or some form of warding against scrying and magical observations. We'll have to rely on manual surveillance."
Artemis smirked confidently, "That's more my style anyway. Come on, let's follow this punk." Her chariot took flight, tailing Issei's motorcycle.
After a while, Issei and Ingvild arrived at a restaurant and went inside immediately. Observing from a safe distance, Artemis suggested, "So, are we just going to wait outside? I say we go in and assess this punk firsthand."
Athena, focused on rearranging her scrying device, cautioned her sister, "Wait, Artemis. We can't risk getting too close just yet. We don't know the range of his concealment spell. If he possesses illusionary magic, he could potentially detect us. We need to exercise patience."
Reluctantly, Artemis sank back into her seat, groaning, "Fine..."
Reminding Artemis of her role as the huntress, Athena added, "Think of this as a stakeout, Artemis. We can't afford to startle him prematurely. We must remain observant and wait for the right moment."
Their conversation was interrupted as a goddess with black hair and adorned in traditional Japanese clothing landed gracefully beside them on the rooftop. Both Athena and Artemis immediately recognized her as a fellow goddess and stared inquisitively.
"Welcome to Japan. I had hoped Tsukuyomi would send assistance. You two appear to be Greek... You must be Artemis," the newcomer addressed the huntress, acknowledging their presence.
Artemis nodded with a friendly smile, "Yes, that's me. Nice to meet you, Shinto Goddess. You must be Amaterasu, right? I apologize for my limited knowledge of other pantheons."
Amaterasu returned the smile and replied, "Indeed, I am Amaterasu. It's a pleasure to meet you, Artemis. And you are correct, the other beautiful goddess here is Athena."
Athena nodded in acknowledgment, "Yes, it's good to meet you, Amaterasu. We were just observing the dragon's activities. Can you provide us with any information about him?"
Amaterasu's expression turned slightly somber as she responded, "Unfortunately, we don't know much about him. He possesses powerful illusion magic, as you have just discovered. We were unaware of this dragon's presence in our lands until recently. My brother Susanoo was with me until a few hours ago. He is currently discussing the presence of foreign gods with the other Shinto deities. Verethragna accompanied him, and they seem to be getting along quite well, thankfully."
